Terrible. No fires that killed anyone or took any land started in irwindale though. A couple nothing brush fires, sure. The leading sentiment here is electrical fire from the winds.
That’s fake. there was 8+ hours between palisades and Eaton. You’re not even getting the basics right. Doesn’t give me hope for your other reports
When hurricanes hit Florida or South Carolina why do you even ask for help? Conservative governors couldn’t handle a little wind?
There are multiple fires happening simultaneously. How should we be staffed? 5000 firefighters employed year round? You like action without much thought. Perfect combo.
There are SO many other dumb decisions why you guys hang your hat on a 4% budget cut or some shit like this is beyond me.

Fair enough. But the buck can only be passed so far.
For years people have been telling CA that their forest management practices added a lot of extra risk. Look at the insurer's, many were backing out of the area due to the risks being too high.
We can't look at these fires and say, oh well, we did a good job it was just inevitable. That is not an acceptable answer.
Accountability must lie somewhere or else it's just going to happen again. People need to be called out in the public sphere. People must be fired, and changes must be made.
Personally, I would tie federal aid to certain changes being made. Enough of the environmental regulations. The environment doesn't matter if 20,000 homes burn to the ground.
What changes? We’re cutting fire breaks. We’re doing controlled burns. When you have 10 million people living on the edge of a dense and dry forest, this is what’s gonna happen. Please articulate the things we’re not doing that we should be based on your fire expertise.

“This is a great nation, trust me, I know whereof I speak—I come from a nation that believed in fascist ideology for a while,” Braeden said. “And we certainly will not want to go into that again. But we are close to it because people want to simplify complex problems. The essence of fascism is to simplify complex problems and feed people who don’t have time to read some bullsh--t.”

This is my problem with the whole Democratic mantra.
We have massive, massive fires with several things that went wrong.
But you don't want to blame anyone. You don't want to assign responsibility to anyone. You essentially don't want to hurt anyone's feelings.
If you are saying nothing should have been done differently, then why bother building back? You aknowledge, in the limit, if nothing changes then you would expect the same result.
What changes should be made? Who was responsible for policy failures that allowed this to happen?
Im not a fire expert, but if i failed at my job as bad as the people in charge failed the american people i would resign on the spot (really i would be fired).
Are you really suggesting "This is what's gonna happen"? Do you think that is an acceptable answer? Do you think any politician would win an election if that is their answer to the people who just lost everything?
Democrats will lose, lose, lose, lose and lose, some more if that is their answer. No one will be surprised when they lose if that is their answer. No one.

Why do you build back after a hurricane? Andrew should have been the end of the state of South Carolina. Shut everything down and closed shop and moved to Tennessee.
You guys are pure brains all the time. It’s called a natural disaster for a reason.
Hurricanes are mother nature.
Forrest fires can be prevented and mitigated. Hurricanes can not be prevented, but there are many mitigation measures in place. There are whole code's written on how buildings should be built to withstand hurricanes.
After hurricanes they take things they have learned and update the code to see what they can do better.
Remember when the highways didn't used to get reversed, but now they do? We learned and implemented changes.
What have Californians learned? What was to blame and what could be done differently? Who was responsible for the failures? We need names and solutions. Learn something, make changes, build back better. But what you are trying to say is learn nothing?

And we don't get a direct hit from a cat 4/5 hurricane every year like CA has wildfires every year. Nor are their prevention measures for a hurricane. There are building and evacuation improvements, which have been implemented.
