Serious question for South Carolinians....

I have lived in Florida for 30 years, but grew up in SC and the majority of my family still lives there (so i think i understand the people of sc)

Can someone explain to me how Lindsey Graham so easily won his primary?

Not sure, that seat has had little to no opposition since the days of Strom Thurmond. Lindsey runs pretty much unopposed every term and I guess people just get used to seeing his name on the ballot and voting for him regardless of his lifestyle or voting record

The main reason is the same reason why incumbents rarely lose. More money, more resources, and more name recognition. Graham got more than 50% of the vote in all but 4 counties (Greenville, Spartanburg, Laurens, and Edgefield). In the Upstate, he's pretty disliked. People show up to vote AGAINST him as much as FOR anyone else if not more. Throughout the rest of the state, that simply isn't the case. Even if people don't love everything about Graham, there isn't enough energy against him for him to lose, given the inherent advantages that he has as the incumbent.
