As someone who served on the front lines daily overseas, I 100% support this...at least in combat related roles. Maybe for POG's in the office it isn't that big of a deal
As a member of the armed forces, this is great news. The military is not and should not be a social experiment to appease a very small portion of people.
The entire military had to go through mandatory transgender training by 1 July 2017. The training was between an hour to two hours long. This is Active Duty, National Guard, Reserves and DOD civilians. So looking at man hours alone for the Army you are looking at over 2 million. This is all the while while people are in war/ deployed from their families and what not.
Guess how many asked for transgender identification in the Army? 28. That is TWENTY EIGHT.

They really ought to segregate Christians from everyone else as well. I sure as shit don't want to be burdened with all that praying and bellyaching about religious discrimination. While we're at it, veterans should not be able to work in their first 5 years of returning from duty. The American workforce needs to be focused and decisive, we don't need to worry about coddling those with PTSD. It just makes us all uncomfortable and gets in the way.

The amount of vets/active military with combat experience with PTSD is about 10-12%. The percentage of transgender individuals in the military is roughly about .00005%. Let's not be potato and keep the conversation on track.

It's not about percentages, it's about human decency. If someone is physically and mentally capable, why can they not serve in the military? There is no discussion here, no conversation. I have a lot of empathy for anyone that goes through all sorts of hormone therapy and pretty drastic surgeries because their mind is convinced that essentially they were born the wrong sex. However, IMO it is clearly a mental illness and should be treated as such.

I just don't think you have the right to be critical of combat veterans who provide relevant first hand experience and insight on the topic. someone from a social sciences background would point you to this... i don't particularly care what other people do or who they want to be and haven't taken much time to research it in depth. i do think there is some level of correctness in the idea transgender impulses can be the sign of some other psychological misalignment, however, wouldn't jump to the conclusion that is always the case.
