Gaetz has never been a prosecutor has he?
From 2009 to 2016, Gaetz argued at least seven cases at the trial level in Okaloosa County. (For part of that time, Gaetz was serving in the Florida House, but working as a lawyer is not unusual for a legislator; Florida has a part-time Legislature, so it’s common for legislators to keep day jobs.)
The seven cases in court records ranged widely in substance. In 2008, Gaetz represented two separate clients for speeding tickets. In 2009, he represented a local restaurant, the Crab Trap, in a workers’ compensation case. That same year, he began representing a local aircraft maintenance company that was pursuing a negligence case.
Starting in 2009, he represented Okaloosa County in a civil case against the city of Valparaiso. In 2010, Gaetz represented a client over a money dispute of less than $15,000. And in 2016, he represented a client involved in a custody case.
Oh boy, dude seems totally qualified.

Owned the libs is the only qualification needed. Says the party about to be in total control. It's so weird, do I laugh at how they've never been able to hold Trump accountable to anything, or do I just laugh at how it may dawn on them what an unaccountable president can do?
You have to really question a political movement within a party that is traditionally focused on accountability, where the movement is all about not being accountable. But I guess just get your popcorn and enjoy the show. Will they hate Trump like they hate Bush in retrospect years later? Does it even matter?
I'm a bit surprised more people aren't talking about his lack of legal experience (which I get doesn't matter to MAGA, but have to think it matters to many Republicans and will matter to a lot of senators (if they actually get the chance to weigh in....)). As I understand it, the man practiced law for a whopping two years at a tiny firm in north Florida (and you are completely swimming in your first two years), and then became a state house rep. He then continued to "practice" for another 6 years until being elected to the US House.
You can't practice in a meaningful sense while being a member of the state house--maybe at a sub 10 person firm (where he maybe tried 9 cases over 8 years), but not at legitimate firms. But even if you could (and the 9 case record isn't correct), the nominee for AG has at most 8 years of experience as a trial lawyer at a tiny law firm---let alone has never held the position of a prosecutor.
This is objective inexperience. But, to hell with all of that, let's put him in charge of representing the US in legal matters.
If Trump forces this through with heavy handedness. We might see two outcomes:
1) The press (or lack there of) will cover his inadequacies while MAGA loyalists dismiss them as fake news.
2) Trump's new favorite anchor, whoever that is at the moment at fox news, criticizes the guy and he fires him.
Theres always the possibility that Trump reconsiders the appointment. But if we are considering that, why is Trump nominating him in the first place?
Im betting at the end of the day its loyalty. Which as a leader is important. But if of your loyal fellows, Gaetz is the top gem for AG..... whew buddy hey Trump voters, whats up with that?
Gaetz (surely) and Hegseth (most likely) are just the sacrificial lambs for the benefit of the rest of this unqualified cabinet to allow the Republican Senators to save face. Can't wait to see who Trump's preferred candidates are for AG and Defense Secretary. As the MAGAs say, buckle in! DEI is bad--glad we're fixing that with unqualified (mostly) white men that bend the knee.
How about an educated response? Ignore Hegseth. Please tell me how Gaetz is qualified for AG? I'm willing to ignore the House investigation and the alleged improprieties. Educate me, please, on how he's qualified professionally for this position.

Did you forget you voted for Kamala? Why would I give you an educated response with your hypocrisy?
Because I asked you for any professional qualifications that justify your support of Gaetz as AG?
She wouldn't have nominated a guy that practiced for somewhere between 2-8 years.
