Minneapolis just ended racism

Good for them. The winds of change are upon us
Be careful what you wish for. Getting rid of the police unions which protect bad police is the problem. Getting rid of the entire police force is both naive and dangerous. I hope they realize what they are doing and that innocent people don’t get hurt.

On another note: I read where even if the cop is convicted of murder, he is still entitled to his pension starting at the age of 50. $50,000 per year (assuming he did not work overtime). If he lives to be 80 (even in jail), he would get over $1.5M. I guess they need to dissolve the police so taxpayers there can pay the dude.

Thomson recalls telling his officers. “Don’t call us—we’re not coming back to get you until the end of your shift, so if you got to go to the bathroom, you need to make a friend out here. You want to get something to eat? You better find who the good cook is.”

Lets see... Will pay you $10 an hour to figure out what to do... No bathrooms and no food...:D. SMH

Yeah this has seemed to worked well...o_O

Need just give half of US, middle to the West, to the liberals and build a wall and let the conservatives have the middle to the East. They could have a no gun, no police, and divide what they have equally to everyone and they should be happy then.

They basically had the county sheriff department take over which is very common where I live.

Positive is cost. It’s much cheaper to pay the sheriff department for 24/7 coverage than it is to have your own police department.

Negative is control. If the city has laws such as ‘no shooting’ and the county doesn’t have the same laws. The county sheriff department will not enforce it. This has been the biggest negative as municipalities have laws on books that are not being enforced.

Does this help racism? Depends on the sheriff. Some Sheriffs become heavily involved in local communities and others do not.

Some counties don’t have a major city and the sheriff department’s budget don’t allow for deputies to get publicly involved in every municipality.

Then there is a county like Forsyth County that has one major City in Winston-Salem and they can concentrate their deputies in one area for political reasons.
