You’re going to come under extreme fire for saying this, but I wholeheartedly agree. There’s a ton of things the gov’t and military could be doing and/or doing a lot more of.Sounds like they need helicopters more than anything. All the ones helping out right now are non military. Desantis has already said he’s sending 4 from their national guard tomorrow.
Federal response on this has been terrible.
How am I going to come under extreme fire? It’s not an opinion. You’re going to come under extreme fire for saying this, but I wholeheartedly agree. There’s a ton of things the gov’t and military could be doing and/or doing a lot more of.
You may not if it goes unnoticed, but there’s already been people saying the feds are responding adequately and efficiently, and as you say, that’s just not true. How am I going to come under extreme fire? It’s not an opinion.
The Pentagon told me yesterday that 800 (I think) SCNG had been mobilized.Set up tents for shelter food kitchens

Lots and lots of good people in government with good intentions wanting to help. However, there's also lots of good, well-intentioned people at the DMV but that doesn't make it move any faster. People who want to wait on the government to get something done are going to wait a long time. Those would be people unaffected saying that
You’re a simpleton and not worth debatingThis is literally the worst natural catastrophe to ever hit the region, and people are out here expecting a swift, perfect response.
Have y'all heard any of the governers of these affected states criticizing the federal responses? No, and all but one of them are Republican. Brian Kemp made a public statement denying Trump's claims that Biden hadn't called him. It's just nonsense and y'all repeat over and over without even taking 2 seconds to look into on your own.
You all want the federal government to stay out of state affairs, but as soon as something happens that the state can't handle, you blame the federal govt for not responding fast enough. There is no winning with y'all.
I agree. You’re a simpleton and not worth debating

"More than 6,300 National Guardsmen are helping the Southeast United States recover from Hurricane Helene, the National Guard Bureau said Tuesday.
Guardsmen from Florida, Georgia, Tennessee, Virginia and North and South Carolina mobilized in the aftermath of the devastating storm, NGB continued.
Connecticut, Maryland, Pennsylvania, New York, Ohio and Iowa Guardsmen also responded to Hurricane Helene, it noted.
These Guardsmen rescued hundreds of people and cleared roads across multiple states, the bureau added.
Overall, 12 states were supporting recovery efforts related to Helene as of Tuesday morning, NGB stated.
These states were conducting warehouse support, high/swift water rescues, presence patrols, search and rescue, evacuation support, LNO support and boat rescues, it said."

"Up to 1,000 soldiers from the XVIII Airborne Corps will deploy to western North Carolina to provide critical aid to the communities affected by Hurricane Helene, the Pentagon announced Oct. 2.
Soldiers from the 82nd Airborne Division and other units stationed at Fort Liberty, North Carolina, will be part of an infantry battalion task force that will support the delivery of food, water and other critical aid “over the last mile to the point of need,” according to a DoD news release.
The task force includes a forward support company that can provide fuel, water, mechanics and other specialists to support the Federal Emergency Management Agency in stabilizing critical lifelines and essential services, according to the news release. The soldiers will provide additional manpower and logistics capabilities to help authorities reach the hardest hit areas quickly."
"As part of the mission, soldiers will deliver support and commodities to impacted and isolated communities, help with supply point logistics at staging locations and remove debris from damaged routes.
Equipment mobilized for the mission includes hundreds of high-water vehicles, dozens of helicopters and rescue boats from 12 states.
To streamline effectiveness and provide unity of command, Brig. Gen. Charles Morrison of the North Carolina Army National Guard was appointed the dual status commander for North Carolina efforts. This allows Morrison to command active-duty and National Guard troops and serve in federal and state statuses simultaneously, the DoD news release said."
