Here's hoping UNC tanks every game the rest of the year...which is possible (UVA, FSU, Wake, BC, NC State)
I'm okay if they beat FSU.
I'm okay if they beat FSU.
Did you read the part about them wanting to do it under the radar? The problem I have with the list is it seems like its just of Tis opinion who they could call. Not what has or might actually happen
No I agree. I was just saying I didn't read it as inside information on who we will reach out to its more so who we could reach out to.
Paul has already mentioned that some guys have reached out, so I would almost guarantee it was guys in this article. My guess is Mahan is one of them since there was no prior relationship but he was included. The problem I have with the list is it seems like it’s just of Tis opinion who they could call. Name | College | Class | QB | Games | Attempts | Completions | INT | Yards | Touchdowns | Efficiency |
Drew VanVleet | Dayton | Fr. | QB | 5 | 143 | 93 | 4 | 1092 | 12 | 151.28 |
I keep reading this comment and it keeps making me laugh. Thank you.Without reading I assume there are a couple 5 stars with the others high end 4 stars
I saw the Duke kid at the same camp @Paul Strelow did. Kid definitely put on a showProbably in Tier 2.
Not sure i'd say he's definitively better than any of these guys. Which isn't a bad thing, just think there's maybe 1-2 "flaws" for a lack of a better term right now. Tier 2 I think your happy with any of the guys chosen for different reasons.
Baker seems like a massive upgrade over Hebert, and a guy who looks like he can be "the guy" at some point at Clemson.
TBH- I haven't watched the Duke guy yet, but Paul seemed to like him a bunch.
Kid may be goofy looking to you but he appears to be a winner. I don't follow high school football but as far as I know they are undefeated this year and won the state championship last year with Woods under center.I'm not too big on Woods. A lot of times the ball goes where it needs to, but he just looks goofy doing it. He just doesn't look super crisp, throws off his back foot, jumps into throws etc
I think Will Wilson is much more smooth as an athlete. Higher floor and can at least provide some utility if he doesn't blossom as a passer. I guess the downside is that his body is probably close to being maxed out so people aren't super enamored by what he "could" be.
Any high school kid with D1 offers is a winner and good athlete. I'm not putting the kid down, but we're looking for a guy who can help us win championships at the power conference level. I just don't think Cutter Woods is that kind of guy.Kid may be goofy looking to you but he appears to be a winner. I don't follow high school football but as far as I know they are undefeated this year and won the state championship last year with Woods under center.
The Catholic church is the largest private landowner in the world. They own 177 million acres of land.@Paul Strelow, please explain this to me like I'm a five-year old. If we have already lost our committed QB because we wouldn't match an offer made by another school and if QB is a premium position to be begin with, how in the world are we going to snag one of these guys from another P4 school? Wouldn't they just match or beat any offer we are likely to make? I'm having a hard time seeing how this works.
Let's get him to campus yesterdayUnc is very worried about Baker and the rest of this class starting to blow up with the uncertainty of coaching staff next year and there dismal season .
Fwiw .UNC is very nervous that Clemson is going to go hard after Baker for a visit to Clemson asap .
I am very supportive of them having an actual reason to be nervous. What a turn of events that would be.Unc is very worried about Baker and the rest of this class starting to blow up with the uncertainty of coaching staff next year and there dismal season .

I know this will probably never happen. But....
....Dayton redshirt freshman Drew VanVleet is having a pretty good start to the season. 6'5", won a state championship in high school.
Name College Class QB Games Attempts Completions INT Yards Touchdowns Efficiency
Drew VanVleet Dayton Fr. QB 5 143 93 4 1092 12 151.28
Because these guys are at lower profile schools with coaching issues. Mack already "threatened" to retire and he's probably out after this season. Purdue's OC got fired and their HC is probably toast. I could see wanting to jump from Duke to Clemson. NC State is struggling big time this year and have a true freshman starting. Beamer's situation at South Carolina probably isn't the best either@Paul Strelow, please explain this to me like I'm a five-year old. The vast majority absolutely don't have allegiances to Notre Dame and for purposes of property ownership (amongst other things) each diocese is its own legal entityThe Catholic church is the largest private landowner in the world. They own 177 million acres of land.
There are 71 million Catholics in the United States. The vast majority of them have some allegiance to Notre Dame.
Clemson didn't lose Hebert to just anyone.
But the Notre Dame Endowment is 20 times larger than Clemson's Endowment and has less than half the undergrad enrollment. The vast majority absolutely don't have allegiances to Notre Dame and for purposes of property ownership (amongst other things) each diocese is its own legal entity
That’s because it’s an elite private university with national pull, not a cow college from a poor southern stateBut the Notre Dame Endowment is 20 times larger than Clemson's Endowment and has less than half the undergrad enrollment.
All things being equal it does, but we ain’t talking equal anymore."Recruiting is relational", uhh, how many times are we going to hear this? It may be in some cases but the further we get into the world of NIL, the less valid this claim becomes. Relationships opens doors, finding agreeable terms and conditions closes deals. The point where deals are reached have moved far away from the area where Dabo is accustomed and something has to give.
Right now is it not reasonable to believe Clemson will be able to continue to recruit at a high enough level to maintain program performance over the next 5 years. NIL will do to Clemson what Hatfield did after Ford was fired, unless something changes quickly.
No tampering has to do with enrolled players. None of these guys are enrolled. May not offer until they decommit, but we will be talking with any or all of them.Is the "no tamper rule" in effect for these "committed" prospects? We all know the word "commitment" means absolutely nothing now, so...
How does Clemson "recruit" these commits behind the scenes?
23,500 undergrads vs 8,900.But the Notre Dame Endowment is 20 times larger than Clemson's Endowment and has less than half the undergrad enrollment.

Another instance like a few years ago when we lost that goober recruit to Bama and ended up with Cade would be cool. This is a rung(s) down from that recruiting level, but it’s about the ones you get so I’ve been told.I just have a hunch we are going to end up with an upgrade on the QB commit list - game on

Agreed the Catholic pull is larger than folks are seeing! The kid is not only Catholic but a large # of kids from his school go to ND! As scholarship, walk-on & just academically. Not to mention he was probably not an option for them while they had the 4 star kid that just flipped to Aub! Sure the money played a role, but there are tons of connections to ND.The Catholic church is the largest private landowner in the world. They own 177 million acres of land.
