Ohio Gov. John Kasich on Urban Meyer: 'I hope he can get his reputation back'

Oh I agree 100% but neither of them are republicans and have everyone working against them. I'll bet the MSM wasn't reporting on Kerry and Obama 24/7 in a negative light. Folks just need to be able to sift through the details themselves rather than taking some MSM lackey's word. I'm more interested to see if Cohen tries to bring Trump into it. Trump is a billionaire and I'm sure, even if what is reported is true (that Trump reimbursed Cohen for the payments via Cohen billing him for services rendered), that that small amount of $ wasn't much to him and he didn't even think twice about it. I'm sure Cohen did some type of legal work for Trump in 2017 or 2016 when these were reportedly billed as services rendered.

Oh man...you guys don't really know Trump, do you...

He is not a billionaire at all. Nope. He is rich in the hundreds of millions range, but he also has an insane amount of debt. In the 80's with NJ and Trump's Taj Mahal his company went bankrupt where he screwed over countless small businesses in the area and banks. Because the system is ridiculous and he was in a way too big to fail--he owed so much, they couldn't collect but no one would loan him any more money...

That is why he transitioned into his branding business, related to being a media personality, which has been successful BUT to get money to buy property like his golf courses (which are absolute money pits) he had to get cash. But from where?? He won't disclose his tax returns. His son let it slip that they got the cash from Russian oligarchs and the assumption is that they also bought Trump's rental properties as a way to launder their cash--mob money. tbd though.

Trump is also notoriously cheap (bc he needs to be). His foundation and golf courses--there is a reason he is doing business at Mar-a-lago and golfing so much at his properties that generates hundreds of thousands of dollars for his company, if not millions. His company definitely needs the cash flow.

So the 150,000 or 130,000 is not insignificant--it isn't a huge amount for Trump, sure, but it isn't petty cash. It certainly wasn't for Cohen either bc he needed to take out the home loan that burned him...

Regardless, if you read the plea, the southern district doesn't just have Cohen's word for it. They have hard documents and recordings related to Trump himself @dpotter24 . They have emails and text messages all supporting the intent of the payments to sway the election that shows Trump's intent. Read the plea--they couldn't have made the plea without the supporting documentation. Sorry guys...

And the prosecutors apparently have Pecker now too. He is talking about what he and Cohen and Trump did to evade election law regulations for disclosing in-kind contributions. Funny thing is that this is the Southern District of NY, not Mueller. What a great move by Deputy AG Rosenstein to protect Mueller from being criticized in the Cohen prosecution.

Correct. However, it is still a campaign finance violation. which is what they are hanging Cohen for now and what they think will be enough to take down Trump. I don't believe it is enough. This was an investigation into Russian collusion to rig an American election and they are throwing the book at two Trump campers in hopes that it will cause an admission of russian collusion. They have nothing on Trump and I am sorry it upsets you so.

Boy oh boy--you don't understand how these investigations work. You get people to flip to give up the good stuff, the best dirt.

You can't think of the Manafort trials as separate--it is one big thing. The first is to nail him as a felon--job done and then the second trial continues to apply pressure so he will cooperate. The angle there is and has always been the Trump Tower meeting. Gravy is just if he helps with Russian, Ukrainian, oligarch knowledge/ties. Just one prong. And for the record he was with the campaign from March 29th to August 19th.

Cohen named in open court the sitting president as a co-conspirator to break the law. If he lied to the court he is looking at maximum jail time and Cohen provides documentation to support the magic word--intent. Cohen also knows about the Trump Tower meeting--or was it meetings plural Guiliani--along with more tape recordings...

I remember when republicans, evangelicals, and conservatives cared about morality with their leaders and impeached not for a crime but to cleanse and maintain the dignity of the office of the presidency. Sad.

Your Trump Tower Meeting theory isn’t really panning out I see.
