Olympic Opening Ceremony

I have it on at the office as well. Kudos to the French for doing something different and "out of the box" in not doing the typical stadium thing. It would probably suck to be there in person as the athletes on parade and the entertainment seem to be a long distance from the spectators. The Opening Ceremonies can get a little weird but it is a showcase of the culture of that nation. London 2012 was pretty epic in my opinion as well at Beijing 2008. The weirdess can be summed up by the silence of Peyton Manning I suppose. NBC is paying him to commentate and I don't think he has said two words since the initial intro.
If "what the ****" isn't your response when you see that, then I don't trust you.

Only liberals can demand respect, tolerance, acceptance, and coexistence, while also mocking or justifying the mocking the faith of nearly 2 billion people.
How does mocking something signal intolerance, un-acceptance, or an unwillingness to coexist? I'll give you a point on respect, but then again that might have something to do with the fact that the 2 billion of you tell the other 5.5 billion of us that we're going to hell because we don't believe in your guy.

Dear Normies,

You’re probably sat at home, watching the French Olympics thinking what the actual **** is this.

Well it’s just another a conspiracy playing out in front of your very eyes.

The one where we tell you - the World is run by satanic globalists who control everything. These people do very strange sick things & openly worship Satan or a brand of.

They love showing this fact off.

Do you see it yet? They’re not even hiding it.

You mean the French Revolution? Something that happened hundreds of years ago is the NWO?

Never watched one before, but it’s on in the office. WTF am I watching? Are they all this weird? I’ve seen some squid game/assassins creed cosplayer do parkour with a torch, a bunch of headless Marie Antoinette’s singing, and some bisexual foreplay (insert jerrynottheresanythingwrongwiththat.gif). The outdoor team parade on the Seine is cool. The rest of it seems….something.
They typically push an agenda, but this is bizarrely overt. I have a hard time believing the masses watch this and aren't questioning their intentions.

Live by your own rules. Also, don’t feign outrage when someone else breaks your rules, that you don’t follow.

Also, don’t confuse people pointing out hypocrisy with people being “outraged” or being snowflakes.

I get it that you’re not a Christian, but I am and so are like 2 billion other people. I get that it’s hard to understand why something like that is offensive to a lot of us, but it’s deeply offensive bc it feels like it’s openly mocking our faith in a forum that’s supposed to be a unifying event. And we all know that if something similar was portrayed about the prophet Muhammad, there’d be Charlie Hebdo 2.0. fairly quickly thereafter.

Also, not only is the Olympics supposed to be a unifying event, but it’s also something that people of all ages should be (and historically has been) able to watch. There shouldn’t be a prolonged scene about three people having a ménage a trois, there shouldn’t be like 20 beheaded Marie Antoinettes with the decapitated bodies holding the heads (if I was at a metal show I’d probably think it was aesthetically appropriate and kinda cool but not at the opening ceremonies of the Olympics with my four year old watching). My kids love sports and they were excited about watching the parade of athletes. Instead we got a weird French indie film, and usually I try not to make it a point to let my four and six year olds watch weird French indie films.

It's not mocking anyone's faith. It's highlighting the fact that Jesus taught us to love everyone, and it's making the case that there's a place for everyone within Christianity.

If it offends you then you are blatantly ignoring Jesus's teachings, and doing the exact opposite of what he preached.

And all due respect, I could not possibly care less about the kids are watching argument. It's not even happening in America, yet y'all expect the world to cater to Christian American standards. Absolutely unmitigated audacity.

You have absolutely no idea about what you're saying. Then again, that's not unusual. You telling people what The Bible says is pretty rich considering you don't believe and you don't know. What's so sad about you is that you love trying to enrage others. You're a pathetic and small person. I do pity you. I'm sorry you're this way and I do hope that some day you find a way out of this really sad state you're in.

Don't bother replying. Won't see it and couldn't care less what you have to say.

Nothing is more silly than non Christians explaining what Jesus taught. You cannot distill the teaching of Jesus down to a single thought or idea.
