We departed France 🇫🇷 today…June 6.
The French people were totally gracious and respectful…I saw hundreds of French school children at the cemetery…with their teachers explaining what had happened and the sacrifices that were made by men that did not come to conquer…but to liberate.
It was quite an emotional experience for all of us.
There were constant fly overs by the U.S. Air Force which was truly awesome…
And, of course, I wore a Clemson Military appreciation hat from 2023…

Wearing the ball cap, I got two “Go Tigers “ and had the pleasure of meeting Clemson ROTC graduates of the class of 2005 and 2017 respectively…who were there representing the U.S. Army RANGERS.
What a great University that we all love.
We had the honor of attending ceremonies for the French Resistance and the RANGERS who scaled Pointe du Hoc.
True heroes in every sense of the word.
Unbelievable couple of days.
I walked Omaha Beach from the water to the hills and cliffs. Exhilarating and humbling at the same time.

I picked up a rock that was embedded in the hills close to the beach…and will treasure it just like the one at the top of the hill…
Go Tigers!
USA 🇺🇸 ❤️
