OT: Cliven Bundy has some advice for some of you...

I share the opinion that the frequent ignorance, racism and tolerance for racists on this board is mind-bending and sad.

Slavery was not good for anyone. White, black, red ... No one. Would you argue that women who are forced into the sex trade by sex traffickers are better off for their enslavement? Were the Jews better off for their enslavement by the Egyptians?

And people who suggest Bundy just used the wrong word are racist sympathizers. Simple as that. He knew exactly what he was saying.

What some people fail to understand is this guy is stealing from you and me by not paying the federal government for his cattle grazing. If that were a black man doing it, some TI posters would be quick to criticize how he was living off the taxpayers and how Obama was letting him do it.

Appalachia, explain to me how that differs from people in similar tragic circumstances. Are you implying that they felt helpless because they were black?

has nothing to do with skin color

i assume their were many whites and many mutts to fall in same category

living off the govt makes you even dumber and more ignorant as time passes

hence the laziness of mind and body

has nothing to do with color

has all to do with choices

the life of a slave family in the heart of dixie was much better than that of an hourly wage worker in the streets of new york.

a slave family had healthcare, roof over their heads, land to roam, as much food as they could eat.

an hourly worker clocked in then clocked out and hoped he made enough to feed his family

lucky if they had a leaky roof

take the slave part of of the life of cotton, tobacco, and rice families of the south and they had it pretty dang good.

Seriously? The people that were bought and sold and could be whipped, raped or killed at any time at the whim of their master because they were nothing more than property? Those are the people that "had it pretty dang good?"

Appalachia, unbelievable response. So you think slavery was better than freedom. If I were you, I would stop now. You are digging a very deep hole, my friend.

I think the slave part is a pretty important variable to take out of your little equation bud. Can't believe you actually believe what you just wrote. I would imagine a huge percentage...as in all of them...of slaves would have taken the life of the poorest free man any day of the week. Man that's just unreal.

Smiling - I mean once you get past the bought and sold, raped, whipped, lynched, beaten, worked till dead tired without days off, it was a pretty good life, no?

After all, he cited health care.

I imagine slave owners carefully applied TLC to those whip scars, broken bones ... And we knew they had other slaves help with "birthin' babies" from those rapes. What more could a person (or was it 2/3 of a person?) ask for?

the slaves were private property with real value

a majority of (4%ters) slave owners treated their slaves as good as their own family.

of course you have a few who were abused

similar to the level of parent child abuse numbers

under no way or circumstnace did i value slavery above freedom

im simply pointing out that slaves were treated with more value in society than was the industrial hourly factory worker of the north.

Now, he's got some advice for some of our "negro" friends.

"I want to tell you one more thing I know about the Negro," he said. Mr. Bundy recalled driving past a public-housing project in North Las Vegas, "and in front of that government house the door was usually open and the older people and the kids - and there is always at least a half a dozen people sitting on the porch - they didn't have nothing to do. They didn't have nothing for their kids to do. They didn't have nothing for their young girls to do.
"And because they were basically on government subsidy, so now what do they do?" he asked. "They abort their young children, they put their young men in jail, because they never learned how to pick cotton. And I've often wondered, are they better off as slaves, picking cotton and having a family life and doing things, or are they better off under government subsidy? They didn't get no more freedom. They got less freedom."
I'm shocked that a 70 year old man living in the desert has these views.

Of course the mans point went straight over most heads, like iceheart08, and the media MUST reference him as a racist now so people buy this crap and avoid the REAL situation which was the federal government attempting run a family off of their farm. Do you (iceheart08) not understand what he is attempting to say? Of course not, why do I ask right, you seem to be one of the biggest socialist posters on here. I do agree its a little rough, but it was to the point. Not just blacks, but any American is more of a "slave" today than at any point in our history. Do you not understand what FREEDOM is?

Here we have a man, that literally had an ARMED showdown (in 2014 with little media attention) with the federal government which by the way, had NO business being there. Bundy has a CONTRACT with the state of Nevada (racist or not, doesn't matter) that the federal gov., again, had NO business sticking their nose into. He predated (racist or not, doesn't matter) any bureaucracy you can dream up, which in this case was the BLM. The BLM has NO jurisdiction over a sovereign state, the local Sherriff can run their butts out of there in a heartbeat. The BLM is going to fly in swat teams armed up the wazoo to protect a desert tortoise and threaten to shot American citizens if they interfere on THEIR own land..... riiiiight.

Yep..... sounds like if you support Mr. Bundy, you must be an idiot.
