OT- If you really want to kill someone why not become a police officer?

I’m not against cops shooting people. I’m against cops shooting people when there is another option. Look at the kid that was killed in Seneca. He was a teenage pot dealer and is now dead... Even if the cop didn’t get in trouble he murdered that kid.

And I like how I’m standing up for lives and it is the most offensive thing posted today... I don’t support BLM, and the Blue Lives Matter is one of the stupidest things I’ve seen. Who is arguing cops should die?

What's offensive to me is your thread title stating if you want to kill someone, become a police officer.

Inflammatory and despicable.

Because they don’t have to

I didn’t say that all citizens are law abiding people, but breaking the law shouldn’t give a cop a license to kill.

I’m not arguing shooting an armed man that’s a threat. I’m sure you agreed with the Charleston cop that shot the guy in the back, because you know... self defense.
Well I wasn't there just like you, so I don't know the whole story. However, yes, the video was pretty bad.

Why do you insist I have lower expectations for American police officers than people in Europe have for their police officers?

And I think cops take great liberty with the phrase "threatening or harmful manner."

You don't Europe much, do you?

This is a motte-and-bailey argument. Make an offensive, sweeping, generalization (the bailey). Once called on it, retreat to a completely defensible position that wasn't your initial or main point (the motte).

No one disagrees with "standing up for lives." That isn't the issue at GT, wasn't the issue in Seneca, and hasn't been the issue in any of the cases. These cases would be best if all parties walked away alive, but in some number of them the officer is in a life of death situation, in others the officer is committing a crime, and in others you have a muddled set of facts with a tragic outcome. Your initial post elided all of confusion and difficulty in these situations and implied that all cops are murderers.

I meant what I said. If you wanted to kill someone being a police office is the best option. There is a real “grey” are when dealing with shootings by police. There is also a large group of people that blindly believe cops are all good people.

Do not believe there is a "large" group of people who think ALL cops are good any more than they believe all preachers are good. Or doctors. Or teachers. Etc.......

Some folks in this thread are so myopic when viewing these situations and act as if this is happening 100's of times a day when in fact it doesn't.

1 bad shoot is 1 to many but Cops are human, some make mistakes some are shvtty people that shouldn't be in that job. But sweeping generalizations about any group of people is intellectually lazy.

That's not the ****ing job, you twit.

If that's the job, then we can stop giving these high school flunkies $30k/year and just use drones. With the stuff Google's doing, drones are probably smarter than cops at this point.
You seem rather arrogant and looking down your nose at someone who is less educated than you and makes less. Is that normal operating procedure for you?

This has been entertaining. I believe a certain baseball expert specializing in Kyle Parker's career is back on the board.

Better option is become a critical care doctor or nurse and kill off patients or

topping that is become a drug dealer and spike the drugs

Best is probably become a politician and vote for laws that kill off Americans

I can think of many more ways to kill off people than being a police officer

Politician is a great answer. How many soldiers can honestly answer what they are fighting for in the Middle East? Obama, Trump, and a large number of congress have zero military experience, but they know when and why to go to war.
