Learning about pregnancy in lifespan development psychology, and prof is talking about how it's quite common for a woman to not know she's pregnant until it's been a couple months. Coincidentally, prenatal alcohol exposure is the leading preventable cause of birth defects and problems. In concern and protection of the unborn child, should a women be allowed to drink alcohol when she is in her fertile age? Obviously if she was on contraception exceptions could be made, but still.

Thoughts?

Statistically speaking, men are significantly more likely to commit gun violence? Should only women be allowed to buy guns?

Smoking cigarettes just kills you. What age should we allow people to make a choice to downstream end their life?

Stay on topic. We are talking about defending the unborn child here
Should @johnhugh be allowed to drink alcohol at all? Well, I guess Angry Orchard and Zima don't count
Two 5% beverages. Sorry you can only handle light beer

I wonder about a woman who doesn't know they are pregnant until 2 months in or later. The birth rate would be much lower if women couldn't drink, that's for sure.

So we should infringe on the legal rights of women on the off chance they don't realize they are pregnant and cause hypothetical harm to the unborn child? I don't want to go down the "when does life begin" rabbit hole but your proposal seems pretty extreme. Are women going to have to prove they are on some sort of birth control to buy alcohol? If we follow your logic the first step would be to ban cigarettes to women as they are much more difficult to quit than alcohol when you become pregnant.

Correct

Spoiler alert: the US isn't the only population that inhabits the earth
Serious question, how would you go about implementing your master plan? What would be the punishment for breaking the laws? Ovens perhaps?

Wish I could say I was surprised by the lack of serious responses. Guess everyone here is in favor of harming unborn babies. Disappointed

This is typical of Millenial thought process....if a woman is sexually active and trying or hoping to have a baby, she should have the common sense to lay off alcohol. She should not need the government to prevent her from drinking it.

Should @johnhugh be allowed to post on rivals (specifically TI) anymore? Serious Question.

Would help limit the amount of idiots being born. The world's population is going to become a problem during our lifetimes...
It really is. I've heard that we've recently reached the point where the human species is using the earth's natural resources faster than they can replenish themselves

Yes, I run this board. You'd miss me and you know it

@johnhugh you are the equivalent of TI aids...you are like bunny aids. Infecting and inflicting bunny nonsense on TI...totally unprovoked bunny aids.

They aren't going to be banned, but I believe the government recommends that women not drink if they're not using birth control.

The 1970's called, and it wants its hysteria back...

But seriously, there's more of an issue with a lack of a population that can sustain the welfare states in industrialized countries now. Rich countries actually have a "birth dearth," rather than an over-population problem.

Fun fact, the HIV virus (AIDS is the illness that results from HIV infection) does not discriminate between species or races
Drinking DURING a pregnancy is a no-no but to say no drinking AT ALL before age 40? You're being ridiculous
Better safe than sorry. Also, a woman never knows when she might get pregnant. I've heard that if she thinks about not getting pregnant during sex, it won't happen. What if the same thing is true for if she thinks hard about getting pregnant?

As Limp Bizkit might say back in the day...Keep Trollin' Trollin' Trollin' Trollin'

Only if all boys under 22 are government required to take birth control so few to no babies are born to government assistance. Unless you can prove your family will pay upfront child support up until age 22.

That should balance it out.
