OT: Tariff Economics Discussion

Why China is in no rush to seek U.S. trade deal: https://on.mktw.net/4k47y19

Would just like to point out your article refers to the heavily biased and proven disinformation provider Brookings institute. It doesn't discredit what they say but it needs to be read knowing that slant.

China is feeling the heat whether they want to admit it or not.

China is feeling the heat whether they want to admit it or not.

And you believe “zerohedge” why?

Because the author is none other than Tyler Durden?

The tariff rollout had some early turbulence, but this deal shows the strategy working—apply maximum pressure, then pivot to targeted wins. The 90-day pause allowed recalibration, focusing leverage where it counts. Markets might squirm, but realigning global trade around American interests requires shaking the table first.

China’s 125% tariff wall crumbles as partners rush to avoid being locked out. This isn’t just a deal—it’s D.C. finally learning that brute force needs finesse. The goal was never chaos for chaos’ sake. It was forcing the world to re-engage on OUR terms.

Now watch as more nations fold, realizing resistance is futile against an economy this dominant.

Buffet doesn’t like Tariffs. No surprise coming from the biggest benefiter of the policies.

Also, he still doesn’t like Bitcoin. Looks like he was wrong on that one.

Still the goat though

If there is a slowdown in ports and docks happening, it's not happening in S.C.

I have been on the boat everyday this past week and I can assure you the Charleston Harbor has been full of fully loaded ships.

Throughout the year i have gone by and seen empty spots, but the past couple of weeks every space has been full when i have gone by.

I doubt we see the shortage of goods democrats have been clamoring on about and it certainly wont be in the next month or two. It would take a couple weeks of no ships for the shelves to run dry and that just has not been whats happening.

With 17 of 18 trading partners negotiating and the 18th starting Saturday, I think we will be just fine.

MORE BIG NEWS... Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick now says that Rolls Royce engines, other plane parts can come into the US TARIFF-FREE - and that the UK will be buying $10 BILLION of Boeing planes "later today."

Liberation Day looking really good right about now.

Lutnick said this kind of UK trade deal normally takes 3 years. This time it took a bit over a month.

President Trump is PITCH PERFECT on trade relations with China. Notice he is open to lowering tariffs, but only IF China opens up its markets to America:

"China has a tremendous trade surplus with us, and we just can't have that ... I would like to see China opened ... You can't compete when you're not allowed to go there. China is the number one example of that. They are very closed."
