The 3rd quarter will be the litmus test IMHO. Hope y'all are correct, but way too early see where this is going.
Would just like to point out your article refers to the heavily biased and proven disinformation provider Brookings institute. It doesn't discredit what they say but it needs to be read knowing that slant. Why China is in no rush to seek U.S. trade deal: https://on.mktw.net/4k47y19

One Ship, $417 Million in New Tariffs: The Cost of Trump’s Trade War
Data suggests companies importing cargo on the OOCL Violet face at least $417 million in new Trump administration tariffs.www.bloomberg.com
And you believe “zerohedge” why?Would just like to point out your article refers to the heavily biased and proven disinformation provider Brookings institute. It doesn't discredit what they say but it needs to be read knowing that slant.
China is feeling the heat whether they want to admit it or not.
And you believe “zerohedge” why?
Because the author is none other than Tyler Durden?
You aren't a serious person. It doesn't matter who their sources are... Yours are fake. Alternate reality for MAGA land.
You aren't a serious person.
He also basically said the fed is clueless currently and risk is elevated
Tariffs are coming home to roost where I am as we just lost $2.5 million dollars we had on the books, specifically because of the tariffs. This shit isn't theoretical.
Yes. More reason we should dissolve them.He also basically said the fed is clueless currently and risk is elevated
Buffet doesn’t like Tariffs. No surprise coming from the biggest benefiter of the policies.
Also, he still doesn’t like Bitcoin. Looks like he was wrong on that one.
Still the goat though
Warren Buffett knocks tariffs and protectionism: 'Trade should not be a weapon'

It’s honestly comical. I agree with a tougher trade stance towards China - including strategic tariffs - but the execution by the administration has been abysmal. I can’t think of any similar precedent where an administration has risked pushing a stable and growing economy into a recession through haphazard economic policies. Trump lacks the intelligence and sophistication to implement tariffs in a way that strengthens America without risking short and long-term (and potentially irreversible) adverse impacts.
I’m starting to feel bad for you, but this is not an example of a “win” by the Trump administration.
MORE BIG NEWS... Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick now says that Rolls Royce engines, other plane parts can come into the US TARIFF-FREE - and that the UK will be buying $10 BILLION of Boeing planes "later today."
Liberation Day looking really good right about now.
Lutnick said this kind of UK trade deal normally takes 3 years. This time it took a bit over a month.
Nothing has materially changed when the “deal” is done.I’m starting to feel bad for you, but this is not an example of a “win” by the Trump administration.
- The UK trade agreement had been in works for almost a decade - representing that the deal was made in a month is completely disingenuous
- We have a trade surplus - not deficit - with the UK, making the UK a country where we need to preserve trade dynamics (vs. right size like China)
- Plane purchases - especially wide bodies - can take up to a decade for delivery. These purchases - which IAG (the purchasing airline) - stated had been in the works for a very long time. Note there are only two options for these types of planes (Boeing + Airbus) and diversification is employed for a number of reasons (note the purchase is relatively evenly split between the two OEMs)
I have provided facts and data to counter why positioning this particular deal as a sign that Liberation Day is succeeding is completely disingenuous. I’d be interested if you can use facts and data (and not MAGA twitter posts) to counter as to why this is a win and what has actually changed from the status quo.
This forum provides an outlet for my frustration towards MAGA’s ignorance. @TigerGrowls spends a significant amount of time everyday posting notes from MAGA social media, but is incapable of engaging in any sort of intelligent debate. I do think he is an outlier amongst outliers, but he could still use a fraction of the time he spends parroting ignorant social media posts to educate himself on the basics. @fatpiggy will engage but also doesn’t have the education (taught or self-taught) to engage on economic-related matters.Nothing has materially changed when the “deal” is done.
Blow it up, say it was horrible, ish hits the fan, go back and do a similar deal, claim massive victory. What a terrible negotiation.

One good thing about the tariffs is that it exposes the objective ignorance of MAGA.

Props to you knowing the word pablum but immediate demerit for your incorrect usage. I am not using ideas or theories - I’m using verifiable data and information above -This pablum you are spewing does not qualify as debate bro. I prefer to look at results and the Trump doctrine is producing already in areas that are important to me.
See above - please respond to the three basic questions and elaborate on why the UK trade deal is a major “win” for the administration when taking into account all of the risks the tariffs introduced. You scared.
Let’s discuss.
Props to you knowing the word pablum but immediate demerit for your incorrect usage. I am not using ideas or theories - I’m using verifiable data and information above -
- Trade negotiation timeline extending well beyond the month being hyped by the administration
- The basic trade dynamics and motivations when we’re in a trade surplus
- The process and timeline for ordering planes by airlines and aircraft lessors
So let me make this easy for you -
- Do you really think the trade deal in its entirety was the result of a one month process? Follow-on - do you think both parties have just ignored the need for a trade agreement post-Brexit until the past few months? If so, why?
- What ultimately will change will change about our trade with the UK and how do you quantify the change?
- In your experience, what is the timeline for negotiation to deal to delivery for new wide body aircraft?
You and @fatpiggy parrot social media posts from MAGA influencers with zero credentials. I post questions based on my education and experience in finance and industry. Both of you fail to respond with any data/logic/facts every time I, or someone else with relevant education and experience, prompt you to engage on the very BASICS of topics you continuously post about
I did respond. Did you miss my response?See above - please respond to the three basic questions and elaborate on why the UK trade deal is a major “win” for the administration when taking into account all of the risks the tariffs introduced.
Just wanted to bring up the moment when you actually ran away with your tail between your legs. Then acted like it never happened lol.yawn. Goodbye
