I love our players of any background, race, religion, orientation whatever. That's why I stand against BLM. Truly horrid racist organization. On the players they deserve thanks and are not always above criticism. It's part of the journey when you are a college athlete, but personal attacks and racist comments have no place anywhere, athlete, student, janitor, fan, inclusive.

I tend to look at people side eyed and skeptical when they claim to be ignorant to forms of bigotry in their peripheral view and environment.

Just Google "coded race words" and you can find a litany of articles, books, stories, research and etc

I can only espouse on my own opinion, I don't like the messages, but I support whomever feels they need to put them on. The only one I had issue with was BLM. the organization is racist, divisive, and hate filled. All for equality, justice, etc. I don't believe you can choose which racist organization to support, they all should be condemned. JMHO.

Unfortunately I fear our current way of doing things it's just creating more racism. Sadly I think that is the goal of many so they can continue to profit from such a terrible thing. Entire world would be better off if Twitter just went away. It's so disheartening to see the way we treat each other. I can't imagine saying something like that to a young man. I also can't imagine being so angry with the player that I would send them a message attacking them. Shame on anyone who does that. Not going to argue with you about the comments made by the guy earlier saying 99% of people aren’t racists. It’s absurd, I agree, and too many times people throw out arguments with ridiculous figures like that or absolute statements that begin with “everyone is this” and “this never happens”. As they say, the truth is always somewhere in between.

I have no doubt Sims is telling the truth. Why can I say that? Because it doesn’t surprise me one bit that some unhinged asshole said some ridiculous things. Also, I can say with certainty that those unhinged people aren’t likely to comment when the team wins and he goes for a double double.

To me, this is where the issue lies. People like the ones we are talking about have access to spew their BS as much as they want. Most are outright racists. Some are just unhappy. They’re all pathetic. Unfortunately, these players open themselves up to these idiots and after a while these things are perceived as the overwhelmingly majority opinion of the fan base. It’s human to just focus on the negativity. I have no doubt it’s easy to do that when the majority of the comments thrown at you are negative. How does a young man know that the majority of the fan base isn’t like that? I don’t know if we can expect someone that immature, as most kids are at that age, to be able to come to that conclusion having mainly faced negativity in these situations. Silent majority is a real thing. I just wish young people could see that most of the people are pulling for them. Not 99%, because no one will ever achieve that. And it’s impossible to see the true number of people that are behind when you base your perception on comments made anonymously on social media. Nothing positive comes from doing that, yet it’s what so many young people, and adults for that matter, do these days.

There is also a "report" button to notify someone of the behavior. It seems more likely to get the message sent than relying on mods to read every post

That is NOT what we have now. It's totally swung the other direction and as a result, our "anti-racist" rhetoric is doing exactly what it was intended to do. It's creating more racism and discrimination than we've seen in a long time. I believe you're a fair guy. It would be great if you'd advocate for an end to these things but you and I both know if you did, you'd be out the door in about 2 seconds. That's the shame in all this. We're creating a climate that will only lead to armed conflict at some point. It's so disheartening to watch because all of what's going on now is based on demonstrably false pretenses that are really masked attempts at taking power and nothing more.

Short version, we are in serious trouble and headed down the most dangerous path we could possibly take.

Actblue is a payment processor (Republicans have the same thing, it's called winred) The misinformation comes in when people look to see where actblue "distributes" money. Actblue isn't making choices as to where the money is being distributed, they are just taking money from donors and directing that money to the orgs/candidates the donors choose.

Simply, a white supremacist is someone who believes that the white race is better than all others. There are people on this board who believe that. Given the size of the board, it's basically a statistical certainty, but lots of us have seen it directly, in explicit terms.

I'm not here to call people out for it, I've done that before to no avail, so I'm consciously making a choice to ignore them, but they know who they are.

It's more like visa. Buyer find a product (candidate) they like, they go to the specific store that has the product they like (actblue or winred) to buy that product, act blue takes the money from the donor, then sends a check to the candidate after taking a small fee.
