Rationing of Food and Gas to get Worse

the problem is we've let one company essentially corner the market on baby formula production in this country so when something like this happens at one of their facilities it completely ****s everything up. we need stronger anti-monopoly laws and more diversification in product development. probably easier said than done, but this, and many other reasons, are why anti monopoly laws exist.

Rationing has many faces

Rationing at the moment for baby formula is a government produced issue

Rationing on food is based on raising the price to unaffordable levels

People for example stop buying steak because the market prices are raising out of proportion to saleries so it limits many families in that area

Look. For some serious disruptions in the housing market

Salaries cannot support the cost of ownership

What is hilarious is many people are deniers

Europeans and Asians are in awe at the US policy stupidity

Most love it but some are very concerned about world security if we continue on the progressive lemming cliff run

So. To be clear. What you are doing here is making up a new definition for the word "rationing", and then basing an entire argument and thread on that, made up, definition of rationing.

Got it.

hopefully this housing correction will allow for more affordably priced homes so more people can get away from renting and into homeowning

Also gets people like me back off the sidelines and hunting for investment property. Bought one a month ago and may make an offer on another tomorrow. So it still perpetuates renting in that way.

You credit me with too much wisdom.

Please use the dictionary to review the term economic rationing.

There is price rationing and regulatory rationing.

I am referring to the Biden economic policies to create rationing by pricing everyone out of the market by making it too expensive to purchase.

or unavailable which really falls under regulatory rationing.

Rationing exists in more than simply having people stand in lines waiting on handouts.

Hope this explains the intellectual side of the rationing argument

My children are young adults in their 20s living on their own and are getting reamed on rents now. They are paying more in rent for small apartment than I paid on my mortgage when I had one. One of my daughters just got advised that her rent is going up 200 per month due to her current lease ending.
Its only going to get worse, because private corporations and public ones, are going to buy up all the real estate in America and charge us all to death.
You see the race to the bottom with capitalisms is that eventually, there's nothing left to speculate on, or own. In the end, you either are an owner of property, or the means of production, or you are a bitch.
In the end, you will see a revolution in the United States, but not the one you think and not with the outcome you hope for. Rather it will be a bloody war with the haves and the have nots. This happens a lot in history, most recently the French revolution.

Keep your eyes wide open as there is a correction coming

of course Biden and the Dems are going to spend God awful amounts if money to try to buy voters which will make the solution only more painful

look for a major crisis global based

I am doing more home based stuff and going into cash bullets and guns

FDA shut them down and thats ok, but they had to fast track reopening the plant. It was more than likely a very small isolated sample that had any issue if I had to bet. They either needed to fast track or figure out alternate supplies at that time. The fact is they did not give a flying rats ass about it until the shit hit the fan.
The FDA should never be involved in the supply chain. That’s big government shit.

Some disgruntled employee pissed in a can or bottle

probably not that as I am just being sarcastic

however I have seen stuff like that happen before that has caused a huge crisis

I set off a nuclear alarm once for the Southeastern United States once by accident

so much for being without SIN LOL

but the FDA is so fk’ed up that instead of verifying that the situation was an outlier and not the normal the FDA shut down production without credible evidence to support the conclusion they reached

Based on what? Where did you read that?

That seems a bit extreme...

Sorry for the bad news but welcome to reality. Capitalism is based on forever growth. What happens when there's nothing left to BUY?

Nothing? I sorta of see your position on property - should the rental buy up trend continue or accelerate with the big funds like blackrock and then other corps. Heck, little guys like me contribute because I buy rental properties. So property ownership could consolidate.

Some people will be perpetual renters. Maybe the majority at some point. But will that trigger a bloody revolution and overthrow of capitalism?

The fed will blink before interest rates get that high but they will be at 6-7% by end of year. Lots of things break at that rate, one being the stock market which you're going to see some big hedge funds shelling out lots of redemptions. (see Tiger Global). The other is the housing market. I just can't see home prices sustaining the 2020/2021 pricing fiasco so anyone that bought in that timeframe will be underwater and stuck.

Recession is definitely on the horizon and but it's tough to see an end to inflation, very hard to reverse after a long period of high prices that folks are still willing to pay because they have to. Large public companies have it baked into their P&L now. Prices won't fall until people stop buying.
6 or 7%?? Let's see that's 30trillion in debt x 6.5% yearly....?? = 1.95trillion. So you're saying financing our yearly deficit will be more than half of tax receipts for the year?(3trillion)? THEY CANT RAISE RATES enough to fight inflation. This is a ponzi scheme. We're broke. Each American taxpayers owes upwards of $2million. THEY WILL PRINT MONEY. And they will print a shitload of it.

Short answer: Yes. People are going to eventually either be forced into a worse form of servitude or they will revolt and overthrow the system. Its inevitable.

The urgency if gun confiscation make sense?

If there’s indeed going to be a bloody revolution, I guess maybe I should stock up on AR-15s… Very hard to navigate one side saying there’s no need for weapons like that and then your assertion that the “haves” will be subject to a bloody coup by the "have nots."

Good luck with that. I'd recommend it but it won't do anything for you if the military deems your property a worthwhile asset to collect.

What kind of revolt/uprising are we discussing here? I just want to ensure we are on the same page ...

I just dont see our Military turning against its citizens, regardless of what the asshole or dementia patient on Pennsylvania Ave says or orders them to do.

So, I'll ask again, is the government or a company telling you that you aren't allowed to buy something that you want to buy? They have limited the quantity of a thing you wanted to buy?
Actually yes. A lot of gas stations are now limiting the amount of gas you can buy.

And if they can't stock the shelves, yes stores are limited what I can buy.

But hey, Biden invoked the Defense Appropriation Act to make solar panels no one can afford so that should help right?

Its going to be the working people organizing. Its going to piss off corporations, oligarchs, you know, the super rich and they are going to propagandize as much as possible to call the unionizers commies etc and then theres going to be walk outs and then the rich are going to use the police to arrest, intimidate and execute the poor and beat them into submission to get back in the factory lines. Or the unions will win successions and life will get better for everyone.

However, if enough crazy people get elected, like if Donald Trump is back in office while this is going on, he will legitmately attempt to organize the military against these people and declare martial law. Hell Biden might even do it ... who knows he's just a neo lib. The outcome of such an effort will be very very bloody.
You dont have to look hard in history for these same events occurring all the time. I encourage you to watch The Uprising of '34 for some context in America of the out right mass murder of unionists. The government, the military the super rich in this country propagandize the red scare and mobilize to kill people rather than pay them a living wage.

Theres no escape in my mind from a big shift, something has to change going forward. Lots of factors go into me seeing this, a lot of it is simply the cost of living, but also, no one is talking enough about the end of scarcity at its affects on our economy.
