Whatever, I never liked him or the things he said. He was an astonishingly rich man who politicians loved or hated. He said some really terrible things. He was definitely the originator of the narrative that rich white people are the victims in this country.
I applaud you for taking to the time live your truth and proactively push back on the emotional work you'd face by reading posts from posters who stand in opposition to your emotional health.

i dont know if it's worth trying, but imagine being someone who was grieving a loss. only to find out it was being celebrated by a radio host. how many times would something like that have to happen to a relative of yours before you decided that guy was likely insane or at the very least decidedly evil. maybe it was the christian in him coming out?
this is just one instance, but there are plenty. at least enough that you shouldn't question if he was pressured into it. BTW, he was renowned for saying whatever he wanted. seems unlikely that he was pressured into anything.
Any thoughts on him calling 12 year old Chelsea Clinton the White House dog? Any thoughts on him repeatedly playing a song on his radio show called "Obama the magic negro"?
And @tigerworx Free speech goes both ways. He had every right to say those despicable things on the radio. We have every right to call him on it. But if you support those things he said, I guess that is between you and god.

Grew up listening to Rush in the car with my dad. Have tuned in off and on over the years. I didn’t listen enough to hear many of the quotes ITT, but I do think he was the type of hyperpartisan influence that divided people further. He had some good points, but you would also cringe at some commentary.
