siap: Holy Crap - Riverside Middle School - sex assault ? child porn ?

I think the main difference between now and when I was that age in the late 90s is the Internet/Cell Phones.

In my FR year Health Class there was a girl that had a child, so obviously some people were having sex in middle school.

I don't think it was widespread just as I don't think this type of behavior is common either.

Teen pregnancy rates are down 45% ( rate of teenaged saying they had sex is also down since 1991) since I graduated HS, so everything isn't end of days prophesies.

nobody wants to hear your level-headed BULLSHIT. the god damn world is ending and its [pleas select one or more: jews, obamas, muslims, atheists, liberals, parents, icehearts] fault!

"Bad kids" is probably generalizing way too much about a kid, but, also generally speaking, even good kids do some bad stuff when they've been drinking. That's especially true for younger kids. And the younger you are, the more transgressive drinking is, so kids who are trying to be "bad" are more likely to be the ones drinking. It's just a recipe for this kind of crap to happen.

I went to middle school and high school in a large school district outside of DC. Most of the kids who were trying to be bad in middle school would smoke. I didn't hear much about drinking until high school.
I grew up in Charleston, Mt Pleasant specifically, and you're probably aware, but it's a huge party town. I was a "good kid", I didn't start drinking or doing drugs until 9th grade. However plenty of my friends were doing those things in middle school, and they were good kids. Gifted and talented in school, good grades, etc. Most of them, but not all, had older siblings, so they were introduced to it, directly or indirectly, by them.

Smoking cigarettes was an elementary school thing. The kids who tried to be bad in middle school were getting into fights, shoplifting, and doing harder drugs.

Like I said, it's relative, and it depends on the location.

To be honest, it sounds like you kind of ran with a bad crowd. Smoking cigarettes in elementary school? That's nuts. Just because somebody makes good grades doesn't mean they're the kind of kids you'd want your kids hanging around.
