As the apparently lone moderate on the board, I like to ask this question every once in a while.

Remember when Trump told us there were NO CONTACTS between his campaign and the Russians and called all the stories about it fake news. Remember when Spice and Conway said the same thing? Remember when Pence said the same thing? Remember when Donald Trump Jr. blasted the Dems for lying about Trump's campaign contacts? These statements were obviously not true...

So these contacts are confirmed and not fake news:
------------------------------------
Flynn and Manafort actually got paid and are now registered "Agents of Foreign Governments".

Jeff Sessions (Attorney General) met 3 times with the Russian Ambassador (I'm inclined to let this one go as he was a senator at the time... abet a senator that was on Trumps election staff). If this was the only contact within the staff, I'd blow this off. BUT, there's a pattern here.

Rex Tillerson (Sec of State) did tons of business with Gazprom and Rosneft, government controlled energy companies. As with Sessions above, I'm inclined to give him a pass here as well. If this was the only contact within the staff, I'd blow this off. BUT, there's a pattern here.

Carter Page (Trump advisor) met with the Russian Ambassador multiple times as well as owning shares in Gazprom.

Jared K (son-in-law). Stopped by the Russian Embassy and used a secure line to talk to the Russian Government.

Trump Jr. (son). Met with a Russian lawyer to specifically get damaging info on the Clinton campaign (which is CLEARLY ILLEGAL and should have been reported... I see another "Agent of Foreign Government" incoming).

There's more, but they seem pretty sketchy to me...

------------------------------

Now there's no doubt in my mind that most on here would be going absolutely berserk if this was a Dem problem. Now honestly, I don't care that much that Trump won and Hillary lost. I held my nose and voted Hillary, but, it was like a choice of picking between being gang raped by the crips or the bloods... not much upside either way. But I do care that an unfriendly nation is messing around with our elections AND the current President seems to be very friendly with them. Republicans are usually the ones that are concerned with national security while the Dems drive me crazy with their lovey/dovey politics. While I understand some reluctance to blame your guy and realize that there's no evidence of collusion. But that's a LOT of smoke above for there to be no fire.

Does this not bother you at all?

Now that you've gotten all of this research out of the way, do you care to list all of Hillary's Russian contacts, as well as her campaign teams'?

I'll hang up and listen..

This Russia stuff is very serious. Trump could do something like tell the Russian president he'll have more flexibility after he's reelected. He could also sit back and do nothing while Putin invades two neighboring regions. He could have no response to Putin's hacking attempts here with our businesses and state election commissions. Trump could do nothing while Russia expands its reach further into the Middle East...even militarily. He could do nothing while Russia makes financial deals with our enemies that run counter to international sanctions. That would be so bad. Too bad it already happened between 2012 and 2016 and no moderate or liberal said a damn word. What more could Trump do that hasn't already been done by the last president and his incompetence?

The political stuff BS on this board, regardless of the affiliation, is getting really old.

I am all for talking about non-football related stuff, but the political stuff does nothing but create problems.

this is hilarious. you have never once had an issue jumping into political threads and giving your absurdly self-assured takes.

do you suddenly have a problem with it because you realize how screwed donny is? that maybe you voted for a complete moron?

i can't fathom how dumb this take is. our president literally suggested forming a cyper-intelligence committee with the same hostile nation that hacked our election--then tried to backtrack on it after he realized how utterly stupid an idea that is. and your response is just "well what about obama??!!" if obama had tried to pull the kind of shit trump has with russia over the past month, you all would be besides yourself calling for his prosecution for treason. i swear the GOP has no actual platform or ideology anymore. it's just "lol liberal tears" or "what about [hilllary] [obama] [harry reid] [kathy griffin]??" for a supposedly patriotic bunch, conservatives sure were quick to turn pro-russia.

What's hilarious to me is that the only real 'collusion' that has been proven from this past election, was during the Democratic Primaries when Hillary's team colluded with the DNC and CNN to slant the debates and election in her favor against Bernie Sanders.

Then, when all of this is ousted and Debbie Wasserman Schultz had to step down from the DNC Chair, Hillary immediately hires her to her staff...how convenient.

If the Dems want to see real corruption and collusion, they need to look no further than their own party.

But, by all means, continue your witch hunt lol..

I hear ya somewhat but I would say neither side has much of a platform outside of "well the other side did this". Am I wrong?

^modern conservatives in a nutshell.

Trump has really done a number on you. I saw posters on here melt down during the Obama years and let it completely consume them, but none of that came close to what Trump has done to you. And you now I am right.

Let it go, your life will be a lot happier.

I almost feel sorry for you.

i'd be happy to get into the fractured and inconsistent ideology of the democratic party in another thread, but no, this is not a "both sides equally bad" thing. there's never been a president in modern history this moronic and utterly incompetent. for anyone to act as though the election of hillary clinton--a less than subpar candidate in my eyes--or any other prominent democrat from 2016 would have gone this poorly is to be completely blind.

@CMTiger15 . I make NO EXCUSES for her. I haven't bothered to research them b/c she's not the president and I consider her a political has been. I'd certainly make a big deal out of them if she was the POTUS. FWIW, I fully support putting her behind bars if she had illegal contacts. Now I'll return the question to you. What about those contacts from Trump? Hillary's contacts certainly seem to bother you. What about the contacts of someone who's actually in a position of power?

If you really think Hillary is clean then you have even bigger problems than it appears.

Oh, and you're right, the leadership in our government needs to do their jobs to fix the problems in America...and that includes the Dems.

However, the Dems are choosing to openly defy working with the Republicans on anything...hell their current motto is #Resist...and they even sang "Hey Hey Hey, Goodbye" to Republicans in the House like a bunch of schoolgirls.

You honestly can not make this shit up.

But again, carry on friend...the tears really are delicious.

actually caring about things and not wanting our country run by a quasi-fascist who gets his foreign and domestic policy from morning watches of fox and friends is not a reason to feel sorry for someone.

Democrats ridiculed Romney in 2012 for calling Russia our number one geopolitical foe. Obama said the 1980's wanted it's foreign policy back. Putin made an idiot of us for years and now we're worried? Really?

Only Dem lemmings would buy this crap or maybe no one was paying attention the last eight years. I dunno but either way, it's annoying. I am not a Trump fan at all. But what's the alternative here? Dems are mad about losing power. They don't give a damn about Russia.

Hopefully Benghazi upset you as well.
Hell Yea! So does/did Syria, Iraq, Grenada, Marine Barracks Bombing, Afghanistan, Iran, Vietnam, Kuwait! Any & every War or Conflict where we lost life of Military Personnel bothers The Hell Out Of Me! Furthermore with every war/conflict, political inputs bothers The He'll Out of Me! Having family or partners killed In These wars or conflicts Bothers The Hell Out Of Me! Having 7 Sailors killed on the USS Fitzgerald Bothers The Hell Out Of Me!

Actually, Hillary's Russian contacts don't really bother me, and I never said they did. I simply asked you to list all of her and her staffs' Russian contacts to prove the point that pretty much ALL politicians have contacts with foreign governments.

Having contacts does not mean there's collusion. That's what this whole witch hunt is about...collusion.

Trump has said that he did not collude with Russia and to his knowledge, no one on his staff did...but he also said that if anyone did, it needs to be brought to light.

However, no collusion has been established between Trump and Russia...yet here you guys are still crying about it 8 months after the election. SAD!

I am very concerned about Russia's interference with our elections. Obama should have done more once he received the information. I think it is very ironic that Trump tweets about Obama's lack of action on the matter and yet really refuses to do anything himself or even admit wholeheartedly or fully embrace the fact that Russia did this.

Trump should be encouraging and supporting the investigations into this for the good of America moving forward instead of trying to protect his frail ego. He needs to understand that he won the election, and they aren't going to take it away from him. He needs to do what is best for our country's elections moving forward.

No @CMTiger15. Not Collusion. CONTACT. I agree that there isn't any evidence of collusion (which is ENORMOUSLY difficult to prove). I'm talking about the contacts. Trump assured us on multiple occasions (as did his staff and kids) that there were no CONTACTS between his campaign and Russia. He and his staff lied to the American people on multiple occasions. Yet now we are asked to believe that all these meetings were innocent by the same people who just told us there were no contacts at all. I have no idea if there's collusion or not... and neither does anyone else but the people involved.
BUT I got a real problem with the President lying to the American people about what he and his staff are doing with the Russians. How do you justify this?

JFC.

1. Anyone with common sense knows that he was responding to questions of collusion when he said he had no contacts.

2. He also said (and James Comey confirmed this) that if there was collusion by any of his staffers, it needed to be brought to light...so he obviously is saying that while he knows he did not do anything wrong, he can't account for every meeting everyone on his team has, so if they did, it needs to be brought to light.

3. How do I justify it? I don't. I just acknowledge that pretty much all politicians are corrupt to some level, and I vote for the one that best suits my desires fiscally, militarily, and with similar values.

After that, I just point out the blatant hypocrisy from the Dems when they're crying about Trump doing things that Hillary and their own party did, 8+ months after the election.

Fun times.

I am so glad you are blessed man. I truly am. I might also add that one of those blessings is not much of an understanding of politics or our style of government. The Senate is majority Republican but it is not in Republican control truly because of the filibuster. There's not a lot the Republicans will be able to pass alone. Further, Dems lamented for years the supposedly wrong obstruction of Republicans but now they do the same because it wasn't wrong truly...it was just wrong with their agenda. Both sides do this crap and at some point, one side needs to try being the grown up.

Lastly, it isn't deflecting to bring up the immediate past as what led us to this point. Only someone who is doomed to idiocy would say let's drop the recent past and focus on the now. The past is the road already traveled to get to this point. When you're lost, retracing steps is often the best means of finding your way. Hello!
