So... About those Russian Contacts?

The political stuff BS on this board, regardless of the affiliation, is getting really old.

I am all for talking about non-football related stuff, but the political stuff does nothing but create problems.
Didn't you start a thread just the other day about people wanting their student loans forgiven?

So an obvious baiting thread asking people if they are Christians is allowed to go 8 pages, but this get immediately moved to the round table?

Trump Jr. (son). Met with a Russian lawyer to specifically get damaging info on the Clinton campaign (which is CLEARLY ILLEGAL and should have been reported... I see another "Agent of Foreign Government" incoming).

What's illegal about it?

What's illegal about it?

It is illegal for a foreign government to provide "anything of value" (that's the way the law reads) to a political campaign and any attempt by a foreign government to do so MUST be reported to the FBI. Junior (not the sharpest tool in the shed) publicly admitted that the purpose of the meeting was to get dirt on Hillary. All he had to do was say (and we know he has no problem lying) that he went for international legal advice and he'd have been covered.

Seems like so many don't care about Russian involvement, we should just go full on capitalist and allow foreign governments to form PACS to support whichever candidate they prefer. Maybe our candidates could wear NASCAR style suits, with patches of their foreign sponsors?

that's not political. Nowhere did I mention Trump, Obama, liberals, conservatives, etc.

but carry on anyways.

I'm going with @Ron Munson on this one, if you think hard about it, that that proposal has some advantages and disadvantages for both parties. I was going to reply to the thread, but simply didn't. My inclination was to agree with the rest of the board that this was more snowflake politics. Then, I actually thought a bit more about it. Our government wastes money all the time... We give military aid to the freaking Saudis (one of the richest countries out there) after all. I'd like to see some cost analysis here. OK, it would put more money into the pockets of a bunch of Americans (presumably productive ones as they actually have a college degree). What's that money going to do? If it simply goes into the bank (a la tax breaks for the wealthy), then I'm totally against it. IF, that money is going to be spent and go into the economy, then what kind of boost to the economy would it be? If someone could show me a big advantage, I could be more open to it.
My wife and my own student loans were about $500/month before we paid them off. There was more than one month (especially early on) where we struggled some on that. I think we'd have saved SOME of that $500, I also think we'd have spent some as well.
It would certainly be a better use of taxpayer money that paying artists to make paintings out of shiit ... not that I'm completely against the National Endowment for the Arts, but come on...

I'd be in support of candidates wearing jackets (or pant suits) with pro-rata patches for all "sponsors". Here we see that Food Lion has some skin in the game while m&ms is clearly in control - it's very simple.
I am so glad you are blessed man. I truly am. I might also add that one of those blessings is not much of an understanding of politics or our style of government. The Senate is majority Republican but it is not in Republican control truly because of the filibuster. There's not a lot the Republicans will be able to pass alone. Further, Dems lamented for years the supposedly wrong obstruction of Republicans but now they do the same because it wasn't wrong truly...it was just wrong with their agenda. Both sides do this crap and at some point, one side needs to try being the grown up.

Lastly, it isn't deflecting to bring up the immediate past as what led us to this point. Only someone who is doomed to idiocy would say let's drop the recent past and focus on the now. The past is the road already traveled to get to this point. When you're lost, retracing steps is often the best means of finding your way. Hello!
1. Thank you, Proverbs 3:5-6 for You & Your Family!

2. The Senate destroyed this policy with the use of Nuclear Option in it's recent Supreme Court appointment. Also, Sen. McConnel has alluded to using it in the future to pass other bills. So, if you want to say the fight is in the party, yes, I agree, but Sen. McConnel has shown he is not willing to work with democrats. Obstruction from all parties take place, but never have I heard A Speaker, as Mr. McConnel stated it so Bluntly, irt Preaident Obama! Not only that, It was accomplished 100% of the time!

3. If you research my comments irt these subjects, you will notice consistency:
a. History (especially irt Social Issues) should be taught to understand & avoid repeating such!
b. The past 8 years Republicans/ConServatives have called for (& I agree) the Obama Administration to Stop Blaming Pres. Bush! So I take it you disagree with & believe those elected officials & talking heads (Mr. Rush, Shawn, Mark, McConnel, Boehner etc.) were/are idiots for (again I agree)! Yes, as I was with the previous administration, I insist; President Trump & His Administration understand learn from History, govern, stop blaming & deflecting whenever Your Caught In A Lie!

Again, History is meant to grow & learn! To deflect whenever your cornered is Idiotic & plays with My Intelligence!

God Bless & Pray for Those 16 Brave Marines from Cherry Point NC, that died in the plane crash today!

As the apparently lone moderate on the board, I like to ask this question every once in a while.

Remember when Trump told us there were NO CONTACTS between his campaign and the Russians and called all the stories about it fake news. Remember when Spice and Conway said the same thing? Remember when Pence said the same thing? Remember when Donald Trump Jr. blasted the Dems for lying about Trump's campaign contacts? These statements were obviously not true...

So these contacts are confirmed and not fake news:
------------------------------------
Flynn and Manafort actually got paid and are now registered "Agents of Foreign Governments".

Jeff Sessions (Attorney General) met 3 times with the Russian Ambassador (I'm inclined to let this one go as he was a senator at the time... abet a senator that was on Trumps election staff). If this was the only contact within the staff, I'd blow this off. BUT, there's a pattern here.

Rex Tillerson (Sec of State) did tons of business with Gazprom and Rosneft, government controlled energy companies. As with Sessions above, I'm inclined to give him a pass here as well. If this was the only contact within the staff, I'd blow this off. BUT, there's a pattern here.

Carter Page (Trump advisor) met with the Russian Ambassador multiple times as well as owning shares in Gazprom.

Jared K (son-in-law). Stopped by the Russian Embassy and used a secure line to talk to the Russian Government.

Trump Jr. (son). Met with a Russian lawyer to specifically get damaging info on the Clinton campaign (which is CLEARLY ILLEGAL and should have been reported... I see another "Agent of Foreign Government" incoming).

There's more, but they seem pretty sketchy to me...

------------------------------

Now there's no doubt in my mind that most on here would be going absolutely berserk if this was a Dem problem. Now honestly, I don't care that much that Trump won and Hillary lost. I held my nose and voted Hillary, but, it was like a choice of picking between being gang raped by the crips or the bloods... not much upside either way. But I do care that an unfriendly nation is messing around with our elections AND the current President seems to be very friendly with them. Republicans are usually the ones that are concerned with national security while the Dems drive me crazy with their lovey/dovey politics. While I understand some reluctance to blame your guy and realize that there's no evidence of collusion. But that's a LOT of smoke above for there to be no fire.

Does this not bother you at all?

It has been entertaining to watch this board as this story continues to unfold. The narrative of Trumpsters has closely matched that of conservative media over the past few months.

There was no election hack.
Ok, there was, but it did not affect the outcome.
OK, it might have affected the outcome of the election, but that is Obama's fault.
There were no contacts between russia and trump campaign.
OK, there were contacts, but they were all innocent and appropriate.
OK, Paul Manafort, Mike Flynn, Carter Page's and Donald Trump Jrs contacts with russia were inappropriate, but those guys were not really connect to Trump, in fact Trump barely knows them.
OK, none of that matters b/c there was no collusion.
OK, there might have been collusion, but that is not illegal anyway (this has been the last week)

Whats next? It is like asking a toddler if they did something wrong.

Trump has really done a number on you. I saw posters on here melt down during the Obama years and let it completely consume them, but none of that came close to what Trump has done to you. And you now I am right.

Let it go, your life will be a lot happier.

I almost feel sorry for you.

And yet you continue to respond to this political thread. Why dont you go back to giving your thoughts on jorts and cargo shorts 60 times a day?

I'm not saying that this isn't illegal. I just don't understand why it would be. I think as American voters we should know as much as possible about all candidates. Even if that information comes from a foreign government. As long as the information is true why does it matter where it comes from? Hillary was involved in a lot of shady shit over the years in foreign countries. We have a right to know about those things as it effects our lives. For example. When she is accepting massive donations from a country that we are on the verge of war with (Iran). I think the American people should know when something like that occurs. Especially when she is bragging about how good of deal she made with them. Looked more like a good deal for the Clinton Foundation than for the American people.

I can't imagine what is going to happen when republicans clean up in 2018, then Trump gets reelected in 2020.

Yeah I'm going to have to agree here. Nobody has a problem with pro maga threads but God forbid we discuss opposing views.

Discussion is fine. I have no issue with it at all. Perfectly happy having a conversation with an adult that can posit an opinion and then explain that position. This really isn't that....

god trump voters are stupid.

The Senate didn't destroy the filibuster. That was specific to one area and actually Harry Reid is the one that started that. Both sides have respected the filibuster in other areas thus far.

This Russia stuff is very serious. Trump could do something like tell the Russian president he'll have more flexibility after he's reelected. He could also sit back and do nothing while Putin invades two neighboring regions. He could have no response to Putin's hacking attempts here with our businesses and state election commissions. Trump could do nothing while Russia expands its reach further into the Middle East...even militarily. He could do nothing while Russia makes financial deals with our enemies that run counter to international sanctions. That would be so bad. Too bad it already happened between 2012 and 2016 and no moderate or liberal said a damn word. What more could Trump do that hasn't already been done by the last president and his incompetence?
Trump could give Iran a billion dollars instead of the 100's of million dollars Obama did.

Now that you've gotten all of this research out of the way, do you care to list all of Hillary's Russian contacts, as well as her campaign teams'?

I'll hang up and listen..

John Podesta is all you need to investigate and the trail is red hot from there

No @CMTiger15. Not Collusion. CONTACT. I agree that there isn't any evidence of collusion (which is ENORMOUSLY difficult to prove). I'm talking about the contacts. Trump assured us on multiple occasions (as did his staff and kids) that there were no CONTACTS between his campaign and Russia. He and his staff lied to the American people on multiple occasions. Yet now we are asked to believe that all these meetings were innocent by the same people who just told us there were no contacts at all. I have no idea if there's collusion or not... and neither does anyone else but the people involved.
BUT I got a real problem with the President lying to the American people about what he and his staff are doing with the Russians. How do you justify this?

PULEZ

You are doing the FAKE FACTS thing

I come into contact with Russians all the time

Many are temp help on VISA program

Actually, Hillary's Russian contacts don't really bother me, and I never said they did. I simply asked you to list all of her and her staffs' Russian contacts to prove the point that pretty much ALL politicians have contacts with foreign governments.

Having contacts does not mean there's collusion. That's what this whole witch hunt is about...collusion.

Trump has said that he did not collude with Russia and to his knowledge, no one on his staff did...but he also said that if anyone did, it needs to be brought to light.

However, no collusion has been established between Trump and Russia...yet here you guys are still crying about it 8 months after the election. SAD!
roll.r191677.gif

Well that no collusion comment is surely going to be tested by the emails that DJT Jr just released acknowledging that he was eager to meet with Russians who were eager to help elect his dad president.

Just how DID he forget to mention to the White House that these communications had taken place?

Do the Russians hypnotize every Trump supporter after meetings so they are unable to recall them?

Obama's mid East, far east. Near east, Western and Eastern Europe along with Russia and n Africa s policy was the worst in US history. Everything you mentioned above reboot.

The sec of state Clinton versus the Russians is where all this crap got started. Her absolute assinine mgmt and decision making turned us and Russia relations back before Reagan. She actually destroyed the peace Reagan achieved.

I just pray Trump can repair.

For Federal Judges, yes, but again we are back to Sen. McConnel obstructing more than 100 of Pres. Obama nominees! Supreme Court, without a doubt! Including not allowing a vote irt Mr. Garland, totally Despicitable...or just Politics!

lol at anything that was said on the first page by @Willence @CMTiger15 or @Ron Munson after that email dump by donald trump jr.

You know what the response will be of Trumpsters: "Where are Hillary's emails?" "Comey sent an email." "The Russian lawyer was a DNC setup." "Just because DJT Jr. was eager to meet her (a) doesn't mean he was colluding with the Russians and (b) doesn't mean DJT Sr. knew."

The excuses will go on and on. But you can bet the answer will always come back to: "No matter how bad it gets at least Hillary Clinton isn't president."

This. It's embarrassing to every single American citizen. But who cares how it happened as long as Hillary didn't win, right?

Why do people think that Russia wanted Donald to win? At worst he tarnishes our image around the globe. At best (for them), he completely undermines the best example of democratic government in the history of the world.

I hope every single day that at some point, some mainstream GOPer has the balls to stand up and say "You know what, this isn't right. Time to call a spade a spade." And we can get back to trying to improve a country here instead of whatever the hell it is we're doing now. And people will slowly wake up from this horrific clown show.

But it won't happen. Because the only thing that matters anymore is winning, on both sides. And it is sick.

If you really think Hillary is clean then you have even bigger problems than it appears.

Oh, and you're right, the leadership in our government needs to do their jobs to fix the problems in America...and that includes the Dems.

However, the Dems are choosing to openly defy working with the Republicans on anything...hell their current motto is #Resist...and they even sang "Hey Hey Hey, Goodbye" to Republicans in the House like a bunch of schoolgirls.

You honestly can not make this shit up.

But again, carry on friend...the tears really are delicious.

So does this include Taxes...just asking because I agree except allowing foreign powers to interfere!

Touched to many buttons on my IPad sorry!

Anyway, Never Ever did I say Hilary or anyone was or is innocent! I said Hilary is Not Our President! Feel Free to litigate her public services issues, but right wrong or indifferent the ConServatives & Republicans have done so for more than 20 years & they found Nothing to prosecute, so for me it's dead!
Now Donald Trump is Our President! He & his administration is rightly being investigated by the Republican lead Congress & the Russians are involved! For me this is A Big Deal!

You really ready to go all in with the trump family? Seems dangerous. You may eat your words.

Under normal circumstances I would say he had no chance, but the opposition party still has no message....maybe they will get one.

If they put Clinton, Bernie, Warren, Harris or Gillibrand on the ticket, Trump is a 2 term president.

Perhaps and that's the reason I'm voted for him but I dont have much faith. The partisan divide in this country for the last 10 years is stopping progress.
