A nugget to whet the appetite for the Monday Insider.
We wrote last week that the best from Clemson's Spring Elite Day weekend was to still to come.
That will take a couple of forms.
For one, the Tigers figure to eventually score a number of the prominent sophomore visitors who haven't even yet formally be offered.
But Clemson also had a half-dozen targets on hand for this class.
One was Cedartown (Ga.) four-star defensive back Tae Harris.
Safeties coach Mickey Conn pounced on Harris (6-0, 200), ranked No. 207 nationally, upon his decommitment from UGA in mid-January.
Harris has turned heads through the spring, posting a 4.38 40 at one prominent camp while also performing well on the 7-on-7 circuit.
In last week's Insider, we wrote that sources on both sides of the equation were not expecting an imminent resolution to Harris' recruitment. An unofficial visit to Ole Miss still figured to be taken at the end of the month.
Our bet is that doesn't transpire.
We also brought to light that Harris, now a projection to Clemson by Tigerillustrated.com, had his pastor present for the junior day visit in addition to his mother.
That doesn't happen, we said, unless things have gotten serious.
As we wrote, our sense was that if Clemson just stayed the course, Harris would come to them.
Harris recently posted on social media that he would have his top four schools April 1.
The Monday lunch menu is BBQ.
