The MEMO...

You're right, your source there was worth a laugh.

My source? Hahahaha. You libs believe believe everything you read that comes from "unnamed sources", but when the House Inspector General is quoted in a story, you still don't believe it! Hahahahahaha

McCabe specifically told congress that there would not have been another FISA warrant request(after they had already been turned down) if it were not for the dossier. So you can make up whatever story you want to, spin it however you like. The FACT remains that there would not been another request made, much less a warrant granted except for the dossier. There is no way to get around that. No dossier = no warrant straight from the horses mouth. So can you please stop with all the garbage you are spouting about the insignificance of the dossier.

The memo also specifically fails to attribute an actual quote to McCabe, which is suspicious. Even if it's true that the Steele Dossier was necessary for the FISA warrant, so what? Who cares if the source of the information was "biased". The source of the document was disclosed and the FISA court must have felt that the evidence was sufficient.

@CUT93, I’ve seen you mention this a few times ITT. Can you point me to the audio or transcription of this statement?
Don't think any of that testimony has ever been made public as it was behind closed doors and was classified. Multiple people who were present have verified the account given in the memo. Today, since all the dem hullabaloo about it, Nunes has come out and said he is more than willing to release it. It will have to be voted on, probably, just like the memo was voted on before release. Wonder how the dems will vote. You'd think they'll be all for releasing it...right?

I looked through your article and the one that it linked to and did not see any quotes from the "House Inspector General." I may have missed it. Can you please provide a quote of the section you're referring to so I can see it in context? I'm seeing some references to a summary made by the House Inspector General but I don't see where that summary has been made public or why we should trust their interpretation of it.

Exactly...he should be more concerned about this below, not to mention the FACT that his DNC wouldn't allow the FBI to see their servers after they CLAIMED to have been hacked by the RUSSIANS. No official gov't agency has ever verified that claim.
You can't make up the stupidity of this. Debbie W Shultz even protected this Pakistani dude until he could get out of the country!

Read it and weep...or laugh

Hey, I thought you said you were out...

I was just about to go on a rant about Paul Ryan arguing Jan 11th that no changes could be made to FISA oversight, none (and there will bills from dems trying to change things) bc it would make america less safe to the Paul Ryan of today saying civil liberties are jeopardized by the court.

What changed?

Don't try to derail this thread--we talking about the Mehmo here. Mehmo.

The McCabe statement is disputed. Some say (Repubs) that he said it was only the dossier, others (dems) say that is taken out of context and wrong. Doesn't matter--now we have another person who has read the memo saying that ONLY PARTS OF THE DOSSIER were even used in the justification and the FISA court knew it was paid for by a political party (doesn't really matter bc Steele didn't know that himself and legally it doesn't matter anyway).

The memo was a political stunt and you all fell for it. A political stunt meant to allow the president to fire Rosenstein. Trump leapt all over it today (of course he didn't read the intel or probably the memo but he did watch Fox News!!)

How can you not see that actual conspiracy?? How can anyone trust Nunes and House Republicans?

Who? Please show me a link so I can be more informed. The only House member I saw who confirmed that he said it is not on the Intel Committee and was not present when McCabe testified.

No worries mate. Nunes just came out today and said he is more than happy to release the transcripts of the testomony. Do you not think it strange that McCabe quits the FBI this past Monday morning, and the day after his boss went to the Hill to read the "Mehmo"? Also, what has happened to Ohr? What has happened to Strzok, and why was Strzok put on Mueller's hit squad?

You have to click on the link in the article "Inspector General". See, the articles that I read have sourced references; not "unnamed sources".

I did click that and only saw them referring to a document they've allegedly read. Did I miss something?

I'm actually a moderate in real life but Trump may have pushed me into the left--just because I don't recognize the right anymore. In my lifetime I never once remember a Republican attacking the FBI and DOJ with such partisan flim flam.

I'm amazed that republicans hitched their wagon to Nunes, who has zero credibility. House Republicans have always been obnoxious and extremely conservative--but they never led the party. I'm more disappointed than anything...

Clemben...you are a flaming lib in my book. Own it and embrace it....LOL

You're kidding about that's it, right? If it's true, it's a massive scandal. Heads should roll everywhere. If you're not astute enough to see that using the government to destroy political enemies is a big deal... you might be an idiot.

REP. GOWDY: I actually don't think it has any impact on the Russia probe for this reason -- and I was pretty integrally involved in the drafting of it. There is a Russia investigation without a dossier. So to the extent the memo deals with the dossier and the FISA process, the dossier has nothing to do with the meeting at Trump Tower. The dossier has nothing to do with an email sent by Cambridge Analytica. The dossier really has nothing to do with George Papadopoulos' meeting in Great Britain. It also doesn't have anything to do with obstruction of justice. So there's going to be a Russia probe, even without a dossier.

some of you guys hate trump so much and dislike him personally you can't get your head out of your own ass

If you react too soon before getting all the facts you might be an idiot. You only see things one way. I'm going to wait and see what the Mueller investigation reveals, as well as what the senate investigation discovers. The congressional committee has been a cluster fvck from the very beginning mainly due to Nunes. At least they should have included both the Republican and Democratic takes on this memo.

I agree with this 100%. If Nunes doesn't like his day job, he could quit and take Hannety's place on Fox as the resident Trump Knob polisher in chief.

Look, I have no idea what Mueller's investigation is going to turn up. BUT whatever that is, I'm going to be satisfied with it. Mueller is indeed a Republican, but he's also as honest and straight up as they come. How many FBI directors (nominated by a Republican president) get not a single no vote in front of the entire Senate (98-0) to confirm and 2 missing votes were b/c the Senators in question were not present? Furthermore, he continued under Obama until his 10 year term as FBI director was up. Trump himself was considering him to be the next FBI director after he fired Commey.

BUT NOW, when he's investigating the President, Republicans want to trash him. That's just plain old party politics at it's best.

Our President is a liar, plain and simple. He does it all the time... little stuff big stuff, it doesn't matter. He will say anything to make himself look better. The truth doesn't even come in to it. When he says something, I have to look it up, b/c I don't trust him to tell me the truth. Mueller on the other hand, is believable.

Nobody is trashing Mueller, just the methodology of how we ended up having a Special Council appointment in the first place. If there is a problem with the Congressional Committee, it has been the 100 or so leaks, which is illegal. Some of these leaks have occurred during bathroom breaks while the committee is in session. Which side do you think was doing the leaking, and for what purpose would they be leaking? Use your brain.

Dude, do you watch Fox News at all? PLENTY of Mueller trashing there. Hannity thinks he's been blowing the Clintons while running the investigation.

It's plenty interesting (in a bad way!!) to watch the Republicans eating their own. ANYONE who dares to question our Dear Leader Trump is a bad, bad person. The man does no wrong, just ask him. By his own admission, he's the greatest president ever, except for perhaps Lincoln.
