I'm a huge believer in the need for a legitimate and viable third-party. That - combined with my utter loathing of the two major candidates - was why I cast a vote for Gary Johnson in 2016. My hope was to cross the required vote threshold to get official inclusion in future debates, etc...

But if there is any one thing that unites both the Republicans and Democrats, it's the resolve to never cede any of their power to a new group.

I wonder if the world would be a better place if the president actually had to be neutral rather than party affiliated? Leave the senate/congress as is but the President has to be party neutral. That should at least guarantee an unbiased review of legislation and policies at the top of the house and should allow for more interaction across both parties without all of the friction.

Basically......best policy/best legislation wins vs "my party has control of the house and the president so I'm pushing this through"

100% a capitalist but not supportive of using a public office to benefit your pockets and that includes republicans. If you didn't come in with millions, you shouldn't leave with millions unless you can show that it was through investments that didn't leverage insider info or handouts. That should also include family owned businesses but I'll give Nancy the benefit if the doubt, I didn't realize her husband owned a company.
