Disgusting is believing you have a moral bone in your body when you're a fanatical Trump supporter.

Disgusting is using a trans-hate thread and using it to also vilify gay people and inject pedophila into the discussion to create a fog around these separate groups of people

Disgusting is making a promise and then breaking it without remorse so you can post smears against "others" for political proganda purposes
Hey tartar we were talking about pedos and you injected all the other stuff... This is the correct way to spell pedophilia and propaganda...

Pretty much nailed it …

Only thing I would add is that post-Obergefell, activists and politicians (left and right) needed a “topic” they could fundraise on. It’s not a mystery to me that the transgender debate really caught fire after 2015.

I would argue that the left doesn't seem nearly as consumed by the trans rights issue as the right. Just look at the comments on this board. The right has spent all of their energy conflating transgender with Pedophilia.

I would agree that the amount of attention to this issue that effects an extremely tiny percentage of our population is wierd.

The reason it is getting so much attention is the amount of time devoted by corporate America on the issue. It is a constant drum beat in so many large organizations. You might not see or recognize it, but it is very prevalent

Wrong, corporations pro-actively communicating that lgbt employees won't be discriminated against has nothing to do with this insane culture war. You'd think the Right would have higher priorities but poll testing has shown that punching down on the tiny population of trans people would energize their base. Trump admitted as much this weekend in his speech in NC by noting how he got very little applause when talking about cutting taxes but the crowd went insane when he mentioned the trans issue. It's a disgusting political ploy that has mashed up gay, trans, grooming and pedophilia to create this almost evangelical fervor to demonize them for cheap political points. Seems they didn't learn a damn thing in the mid-terms.

“They have an interest in keeping the base riled up about one thing or another, and when one issue fades, as with same-sex relationships and same-sex marriage, they’ve got to find something else,” Balmer said. “It’s almost frantic.”

“It’s staggering how quickly [marriage] disappeared as an issue,” Balmer said “And so, they almost frantically began looking for something else. And of course, the trans thing was the next thing on the horizon.”

"Today, nearly 8 in 10 Americans back nondiscrimination protections for LGBTQ+ people, according to a poll from the nonpartisan Public Religion Research Institute. That includes 65 percent of Republicans. A 2021 poll by PBS NewsHour/NPR/Marist poll found that two-thirds of Americans opposed bills limiting the rights of transgender people."

We will agree to disagree. It is not a case of discrimination or mistreatment. Many organization are pushing “drag bingo parties”, “drag queen events”, etc etc. This is a fact in connection with large corporate America. I do not believe in discrimination in any respect but also do not think the above mentioned items are appropriate in the work place.

And exactly what are “drag bingo parties” and “drag queen events” pushing? I'm not sure what you've experienced in your life but the majority of people I've worked with wouldn't be offended at all by a drag show and would even think it's fun. It's just recently that the Right has successfully re-imagined them as monsters out to corrupt our children. Wonder why they didn't say anything in the previous 60+ years? It's not like drag queens are a new phenomenon.

The reality is you have admitted prejudiced people such as olefastball who conflate trans with Pedophilia.

It's the exact same as all the #savethechildren rage during the covid lockup. All this false panic over child trafficking. Funny how that doesn't seem to be an issue anymore. Must not have been scary as men in dresses lip-synching to Gloria Gaynor I will Survive

Tim saying what we have been for some time now. Everybody is catching on...
A normal person with a moral compass would never listen to a smarmy propagandist like Tim Pool, so nobody that matters will be "catching on".

And we know you don't care if he tells the truth or not so your suggestion to listen holds no sway.

A drag show is fun?? We have zero in common. How is that appropriate?

LMAO, we obviously don't because I'm stunned that you would consider a drag show inappropriate. To who?

I'm not saying everyone would enjoy them but I haven't ever knowingly worked with anyone that would be offended by them either...and I worked at the Home Depot corporate office for many years (6000 people) and other national corporations and I've never run into anyone as prejudiced as the conservatives on this board.

Maybe explaining your background would shed some light on why you believe the way you do? Have you lived in a small SC town your whole life? Do you work in a church?

Do you work in a church?I work in an organization with 12,000 employees/partners. My background has nothing to do with commin decency and what is appropriate in the workplace. I doubt when you were at Hone Depot that they had Drag Shows but I am sure you know how the other 6,000 employees would perceive them if they did.

Again, LMAO....how is a drag show indecent? It's just a performer pantomiming in a dress and cracking jokes. It's not a scene from the holocaust lol.

I guess I'm missing something because I'm not necessarily saying companies would have drag shows at work, though I've known men to dress up as women for a comedy skit for charity.

You people have taken this culture war way too damn far. it's ridiculous.

In addition, you are correct that I don't know how every HD employee feels but I know that the HD Corporate office celebrated Pride with displays throughout the common hallways and I never heard anyone say they were offended. Most people aren't snowflakes fyi.

I'm just truly flummoxed because I never meet people like you in real life, but I would like to understand you. It's not like I hate you or anything but my interest is piqued when I hear people say the things you do....just wondering what leads one to be THAT conservative.

Before we do that, let's look at your life-I rearely meet people like you in real life so let's understand you first. You questioned if I came from a small town in South Carolina; no I have lived my whole life in citties with more than 250,000 people. So, do you have something aganist small cities in South Carolina? Did you have difficulties while at Clemson since it is a small town in South Carolina? Did you feel out of place or not welcomed there? I am trying to understand why you are THAT Liberal.

I grew up in Greenville, not far from Clemson and have been a rabid fan all my life, though I didn't go to college there. I've lived in several places since but I've been in Atlanta longer than anywhere else. No. I have nothing at all against small cities and there's nothing wrong with living in one, but I do believe the more people you're exposed to, the less prejudiced you'll be, because when you can put names and faces to those that are demonized by certain groups, you quickly realize that most are good people who just want to live their lives in peace and don't want to harm anyone. Your turn.

I am around people all the time, as I said my firm has over 12,000 employees/partners and I probably have worked closely with over 800 of them and many on a daily basis. I am not prejudiced in any way and I have many friends associated with the Clemson football program that I consider some of my best friends. I do not want to harm anybody but I do think the workplace should not be a place for political and /or other activities.

I think they voted against becoming a state.
I had to give it a Google …

Looks like they did in 1967.

Apparently this November, a referendum will be on the local PR ballot asking residents again if they wish to pursue statehood. From there, if voted in the affirmative, it would then go through some process and vote in the House/Senate for statehood.

If PR wants to be a state, I have a hard time thinking of a reason why they shouldn’t be.

Cool, thanks for the response. Not everyone sees acknowledging the lgbt community as political but they have been made a political football for purely political propaganda reasons. JMO
