Trump supporters with teenage daughters

So not only do you ride bicycles with no seat, you’re really into yoga.

Вы кажетесь действительно успешным парнем. Образцом для подражания для молодежи этой страны.

Your teenage daughter and her friends are all book smart but objectively stupid. I bet they would support a measure to rescind a woman’s right to vote
The only book smart people are libs who have no common sense and no critical thinking skills, you're a prime example. You don't listen and can't comprehend that Trump never wanted to take a women's right away, he wanted to give it back to the people/states and away from the Federal Gov't but you'll never understand that because you lib dumbasses want everything controlled by the feds.

We're sorry this is happening to you.

Why?

If they are going to whore around, be smart enough to prevent pregnancy. You know- birth control. Its not a new concept
My daddy always told me to wear a rubber. btw, why is it that women whore around, but men are just fooling around? societal double standard would be another thread i guess.

How much do your daughters hate you right now? What’s the discussion at dinner like? “Sorry honey I had to take away your rights to own the libs”
What do you think of states like Missouri and Ohio that voted comfortably for Trump while passing measures to protect abortion? It's more complicated than, "Orange guy bad."

As a parent of 2 young daughters, my wife and I are very concerned with the new administration's approach towards women's rights.
If the only suggestion from the Trump admin is going to be "Keep your legs together",. well that was a failed policy for many a millennia. Just ask your mom.

As a grown man, who is supposed to be a strong father figure, you are afraid of ghosts. Sucks for the little girls, IMO.

That was really helpful criticism. Thank you, I will consider it.

They planning to get rid of contraception? Did a bunch of states get rid of abortion yesterday?

It doesn’t make any sense.

You’re concerned about women’s rights under Trump, but you wanted to elect the most radical presidential candidate in the history of the United States who openly promotes and pushes a transgender agenda. The precedent is there already, so save the “it’s an overblown issue”. It’s not - or wouldn’t have been. You can bet your ass that the pandering would have continued and their “movement” would have grown. These radical dems want men to be able to wear a costume and invade women’s spaces. They just tried to re-write title 9 and got it shot down by the SCOTUS.

I would think my daughter or son for that matter would be happy that they weren't aborted. I always find it fascinating that the desires and rights of the ones affected most by abortion, you know the babies, are never brought up.
You think it affects a clump of cells more than the woman carrying it? Weird people say you guys don’t give a shit about women’s rights.

Interesting, I hadn't considered the women in your life would be so infringed upon by the transgenders.

You had Trump for 4 years and he didn’t infringe upon any of the women in your life.

Abortion got sent back to the states where it belongs. That’s it. That’s all.

Like I said, you’re afraid of ghosts and a reach of a hypothetical.

Sad.

When I look at my daughters in the eye. I'll make sure to tell them that OBB said: It's a states rights issue.

They’ll probably tell you -

“Dad, be a strong, critical thinking man like 0BB and lead us and our family towards success instead of worrying about whether we can get a hypothetical abortion or not. Teach us responsibility so that we don’t have a mistake pregnancy happen to us. Also Dad, don’t use the 1-2% to justify the 98%. That kind of insults everyone’s intelligence, even ours. Thanks Dad. We love you.”

Could even add Florida to this discussion. The pro-abortion vote had a lot of support (57%), and Trump did better there in each election. Are there a lot of Republicans who are vehemently against abortion? Of course, but there are also plenty who are ok with it under reasonable circumstances. It's insane to paint everyone who voted for a Republican or Trump as a woman-hating bigot, but that's easier than dealing with nuance I guess.

Great advice thanks

When you were referencing 1-2% numbers was that about trans people or ? I was confused on the context.
Only about 4-5% of abortions in the United States are because of non-viable fetuses, rape, incest, and most justifiable reasons to have an abortion. The rest are basically an elective procedure because two people (1 man with XY and 1 woman with XX.. I know this confuses a lot of you) make a mistake and have a pregnancy..

I get there’s some variable as it pertains to abortions in state’s with 6 week bans and such, but that’s only 13 states, and the numbers are the numbers. I guess we can agree that maybe more abortions happen because of the justifiable reasons in some of the 13 states if the laws weren’t as strict, but not enough to really move the needle much.

You’re afraid of a hypothetical that has a very minuscule chance of even happening.

I think there is a balance to be struck. It's absolutely no joyous thing for the woman. It's also not a joyous thing to terminate life. Regardless of how far a woman was into a pregnancy, I would always feel more disturbed by someone kicking her in the stomach than a woman who wasn't pregnant. Seems as though even the potential for full-fledged human life is something we should value and do subconsciously value

Do you think a woman has an absolute right over the baby because she's carrying it? I doubt anyone here is pushing for abortion to be legal during the third trimester. At some point people believe that society's interest in protecting a life outweighs the individual woman's interest in ending one. Is that unfair? It doesn't even need to be a religious thing.

What if I told you that you don't give a shit about human rights if you don't protect human life? It'd get us nowhere, and there's no point insulting you or anyone else.

Ok so if I'm understanding you correctly. The state governments have a right to make this choice. Thats how it should be. That the government, gets to decide.

As per each separate state’s law, yes.

And there’s still between 1,500 and 2,500 abortions PER DAY in America.

The abortion laws are rarely preventing the actual abortions from happening, when desired, even in a lot of the 6 week ban states.

So its OK for the state government to make these decisions. Are there others laws or judiciary rulings that the federal government should repeal and leave to the states?

I’m not taking about anything but abortion. No reason to move the goalpost.

I think there’s a middle ground that needs to be reached, indeed. In some cases, I’m sure 6 weeks doesn’t work at times because of things like victims being afraid to come forward, special needs or developmental issues, etc. 15-16 weeks is probably the sweet spot.

But, to reiterate the answer to you first question, yes I believe it’s a state issue.

I suppose you think the fed govt should add weed back to it's previous place on the fed controlled substance list and take that out of the hands of states as well, right?

Why , may I ask, is abortion a states issue by not say; murder, or car jacking?

First, it's not protected by the constitution( I'm not saying those others are either). Second, it is not a cut and dried issue where everyone agrees. There is consensus agreement that murder and car jacking are wrong. Also, I would point out that those things are not treated the same in every state. There are different punishments in different states - so that argument is not exactly supporting you case 100%.

Interesting. So any debated issue that not everyone agrees on, should be left to the states. Got it.

Murder and car jacking are always 100% a crime with a victim 100% of the time.

Abortion is a crime in 24% of the country.
