Vance VP Pick

I mean Biden called black people dangerous predators and said marriage was only between a man and a woman when he was VP. People can change opinions I suppose.
No, he did not. Here's what actually happened. The lie that Biden called black people "super predators" first came from, you guessed it, Donald Trump.

Still fact checking with CNN.

Vance is an interesting pick. He's a very bright mind and he has not been afraid to evolve his views. I am sure we'll see all the old clips of him decrying Trump as ill suited to be president ad nauseum. He's clearly changed his thinking there.

Someone break this down for me. Good, bad, what voters does he bring, what voters does he push away, etc.
Just another average pro-russia conservative who went from hating Trump to bending over backwards to appease him and openly pushed Trump’s election fraud conspiracy nonsense. He’s also held elected office for…checks notes…1 year.

He’s also an Ohio State grad, which to me disqualifies him regardless of his politics.

Probably not a bad idea to go with someone young (39). But I don’t buy that this makes any real change in the election results. People don’t vote for Vice President.

Using CNN to fact check the left is like using Fox to fact check the right.

If any of you liberal Democrats were wondering before…this race is officially OVER!!
It was over Saturday evening about 6-7pm.

Biden’s entire strategy is toast.

……. mmmmmmmm the bold is a good point. I may have to rethink this ;)

You’re right, won’t move the needle for most. Will for some.

aaaaaaand Obama was Senator for *checks notes* only 3 years before being elected President.

And I didn’t vote for Obama for that exact reason.

I think he was probably the best pick for Trump politically because he's young, well-known and highly educated but I can't believe no one has mentioned the negatives this pick will have with women. He's been pretty extreme in his abortion views, he's mocked childless women, he voted against a bill to enshrine access to IVF and he voted against a bill that required other states to recognize same-sex marriages from other states. I know he's moderated some of those views to follow Trump's lead but women will probably hold it against him, though as others have said, people probably aren't voting for VP.

They sent you the talking points quickly.

From a leftward POV, what he said is what you'll hear. He's not wrong there in terms of how folks like him will see Vance. That could translate to not helping hugely with women. Especially single women. But they mostly hate Trump anyway. I am 100% fine with Vance's view on abortion because it's close to mine. However, I also know that I am way outside the lines on that issue from most of America.

My answer wasn't intended to stir the pot, I was just answering Scotch's question about the pros and cons. It's true that his biggest negatives will be with women but who knows if it will be a dealbreaker - it probably won't be. Just a matter and fact response to his question.

Facts are facts. Nobody is checking the left here. I'm checking the lie being told that Biden called black people "super predators." It's absurdly untrue.
Likewise then when someone quotes Fox later on don't rush back saying "oh you got that from Fox...", that's my only point there.

Will say about Vance, heard him on Meet the Press the other day and I looked at my wife and said that's who Trump should pick. Like @dpic73 stated, he's young and pretty articulate. Two things that Trump isn't......sorry but it's true. Whether some of us want to admit it or not, that goes a long way with a percentage of the population.

I agree that the veep pick doesn't usuall move the needle. I'm guessing the bullet that grazed trump's ear may put more weight on the pick, however.
