It's probably more nuanced than that. Kids that get bullied really tough do some crazy stuff to try and stop it. Certainly any kid bullied to the point where he talks about dying would have said some crazy shit to try and see if any of it stops the bullying. I am not saying that is the case here, but it demands patience and not jumping to conclusions.
