What the hell is happening with the Spammers?

All free boards across the network are being lit up with spam bots. I stepped out of the office for just two hours to run some errands, came back and had to delete 16 spam handles. It's a daily occurrence.
We may make this forum premium, which would stop it, but given that it's off topic we have tried to keep it free.
Minimal. Less than 10 percent. But that number stands to increase over time. Still, I won’t hesitate to make this forum premium if we don’t see some relief with these spam bots.
Thank you, was more a curiosity than anything else. Feels like I've seen all the regulars to this barren wasteland post on the West Zone as well at least.
I’d like to report that I believe @TigerGrowls is also a spam bot that has somehow managed to go undetected.

There was no spam on here when I was President. This was a big and Beautiful message board with no spam not 1 spam was there when I was President. Believe me everyone agrees.
Sorry to interrupt, We have a free board Mosports on rivals and we are being hit by spam bots, Not sure if we have a mod anymore is there anyone you can contact at Rivals to help? Just looking for any help!!
You can just click on their name from the front page and ignore. Still a hassle, but quicker than opening up the thread to do it.
Well we are trying but wow, they are spamming us really bad. They are sending sometimes 10-20 in a minute. I am afraid we have no mod and rivals has been no help. please check mosports.com on rivals. It is a Missouri site. just looking for help.
