Scott Hamilton is a media survivor.

He prefers to call himself a cockroach.

Whatever the name, his current title is sports columnist for The Post and Courier newspaper and he's utterly thrilled to hold this position as the only newspaper sports columnist left in the Palmetto State.

"I feel like I'm 28 years old again," he said. "It's so exciting."

Hamilton joins the podcast to reflect on a career that has included newspapers, magazines, television, radio, and sales for a minor-league baseball team.

And to think: He went to college to become a history teacher.

Hamilton shares insight into his daily routine, the state of newspapers, and the current state of college football.

And yes, he's totally geeked about this week's South Carolina-Clemson showdown in Death Valley.

"Changes are coming" Discussion...

So I have a genuine question to ask regarding the "changes are coming" rhetoric from today b/c I feel like this is a stupid question to ask since i've quite clearly misunderstood something along the way...

Again, genuinely asking b/c I flat out just don't understand... But why has it taken so, so long for this change to come about when it appears that other schools have already implemented "something" already? The announcements today just feel like a serious knee-jerk reaction to the recruits we've lost over the past few months and they're finally putting out a message publicly to say "hey yall, we're evolving over here as well"... Am I wrong here? Is it something in between?

Thanks for any insight guys!
