I've noticed a lot of things that you think are witch hunts are issues that seem to be front and center during the election. For example, immigration. For a long time you and nytigerfan tried to tell us that immigration wasn't a problem and that it was only an issue because republicans kept bringing it up.
Now you say that DEI is a witch hunt in search of a problem. This was another big issue during the election.
The people spoke loud and clear. Maybe you should reconsider what is important to the electorate.
DEI should not even exist as a thought in our military, schools, or any other taxpayer funded activity. It is poison.
MSM no longer gets to define what is important to the people. With free speech platforms like X, the people decide what is important.
Dude, you don't get to make up things about me because you think all liberals feel the same way about every subject. For a long time you and nytigerfan tried to tell us that immigration wasn't a problem
I don't represent all liberals when I say this, but the border is the one area that I believe the new admin has fumbled. I do believe they are taking constructive steps to address the root of the problem but I don't agree with catch and release and I liked the stay in Mexico policy personally. I don't approve of taxpayer funded housing for illegals either. So in short, we agree on this issue for the most part.
He's mostly just following the law but to be real for a moment, we probably agree a good bit on this issue. Not sure what he can do without a bill from Congress but at the very least, he needs to speak up like a leader and address the issue head-on. He's way too quiet when he needs to be forceful.
Just because I lean left doesn't mean I support everything a Dem official does, nor do I support every Democratic policy. I'm a lot more of a hardass on crime and the border than the average Democrat and my opinion is this should never have gotten to this level in the first place. As much as I hate to say it, it was a smart move on behalf of Abbott to ship them to sanctuary cities to bring the border crisis home to every state.
You're spinning again. I was strictly talking about DEI in regards to rooting out generals who "prioritize" DEI over military readiness, which is what is being alleged here. Who is stupid enough to believe that's really a thing and how do you root them out? Do they have a Woke-ometer they use that tells them how empathetic they are to inclusion? And if they do investigate all the generals for silly, random bullshit like this, how do you think that will affect their confidence in their chain of command? Now you say that DEI is a witch hunt in search of a problem. This was another big issue during the election.
You mean Elon gets to decide. Propaganda has broken your brainsMSM no longer gets to define what is important to the people. With free speech platforms like X, the people decide what is important.
A bill wasn’t needed to enforce our border and immigration laws.
You bring up some good points, but I don't get the leap to autocracy. I mean, sure, Trump my desire a free hand as a means to carry out is policy....but what policy hawk doesn't? Nevertheless, we are not an autocracy, so it matters not. What jobs do the illegals crossing the border work in that Trump keeps ranting about?
I believe most are in areas that would be easy to find employment if physically able.
Yardwork, roofers, wmt deliveries, .... All honorable jobs that are better than where they came from.
Regime fees are going to jump through the roof.
Population demographics are important to capital markets. Balance within the population by age is a key factor for the economy. The US is very different from a country like Japan which has little culture diversity and now has an aging population. Japan addressed the aging population by basically moving production to other countries farming out the labor needs.
Agree the border needs to be controlled, but there is a lot more to this.
What Trump is pushing is autocracy.
Is that what our population really wants. I totally agree change is needed, but not what he is pushing.
