Trump to nominate fox news host as secretary of defense

This is such a stupid notion that there are generals who prioritize DEI over military readiness. Do you really believe that generals spend more time talking about equity and inclusion over preparing their troops? What could possibly go wrong by letting a FoxNews morning weekend host pick who commands our troops? This is a witch hunt in search of a problem - so ridiculous...

What a cabinet

No surprise, ethics is not a consideration for the Trump administration. Bow down to Trump and you are in

I've noticed a lot of things that you think are witch hunts are issues that seem to be front and center during the election. For example, immigration. For a long time you and nytigerfan tried to tell us that immigration wasn't a problem and that it was only an issue because republicans kept bringing it up.

Now you say that DEI is a witch hunt in search of a problem. This was another big issue during the election.

The people spoke loud and clear. Maybe you should reconsider what is important to the electorate.

DEI should not even exist as a thought in our military, schools, or any other taxpayer funded activity. It is poison.

MSM no longer gets to define what is important to the people. With free speech platforms like X, the people decide what is important.

Can someone make this make sense?

You do get that he has two bronze stars right? He's a true combat veteran with degrees from Harvard and Yale. I mean, which part do you take issue with? His combat experience , his leadership experience or his Ivy degrees?

Is this the MSM you are referring to?

Dude, you don't get to make up things about me because you think all liberals feel the same way about every subject.
👇
I don't represent all liberals when I say this, but the border is the one area that I believe the new admin has fumbled. I do believe they are taking constructive steps to address the root of the problem but I don't agree with catch and release and I liked the stay in Mexico policy personally. I don't approve of taxpayer funded housing for illegals either. So in short, we agree on this issue for the most part.
He's mostly just following the law but to be real for a moment, we probably agree a good bit on this issue. Not sure what he can do without a bill from Congress but at the very least, he needs to speak up like a leader and address the issue head-on. He's way too quiet when he needs to be forceful.
Just because I lean left doesn't mean I support everything a Dem official does, nor do I support every Democratic policy. I'm a lot more of a hardass on crime and the border than the average Democrat and my opinion is this should never have gotten to this level in the first place. As much as I hate to say it, it was a smart move on behalf of Abbott to ship them to sanctuary cities to bring the border crisis home to every state.
Now you say that DEI is a witch hunt in search of a problem. This was another big issue during the election.
You're spinning again. I was strictly talking about DEI in regards to rooting out generals who "prioritize" DEI over military readiness, which is what is being alleged here. Who is stupid enough to believe that's really a thing and how do you root them out? Do they have a Woke-ometer they use that tells them how empathetic they are to inclusion? And if they do investigate all the generals for silly, random bullshit like this, how do you think that will affect their confidence in their chain of command?
MSM no longer gets to define what is important to the people. With free speech platforms like X, the people decide what is important.
You mean Elon gets to decide. Propaganda has broken your brains

Does this really qualify for Secretary of Defense?

Princeton and Harvard. Regardless of the names, he’s an intelligent person. If somebody doesn’t like his positions, I get it, but I don’t think he’s incapable of handling the job by any stretch. He wouldn’t be going at it alone.

We’ve gotten in this trap of assuming that anyone who’s been around the military establishment (military, CIA, DoD, industry, etc) is automatically going to do a better job than someone who hasn’t. Experience can absolutely be a good thing; they’re a lot of capable people in the military establishment. There are also a lot of unimpressive, dumb people that are responsible for the past few decades of moronic foreign policy decisions.

Lloyd Austin’s crowning achievement is lining the pockets of defense contractors while we prolong a massive land war in Europe.

Do you believe that the conflict in Ukraine is unimportant to the US?

That’s a fair question and critique of the Biden administration. There were other positions he was probably more qualified for given his military background. But had experience as an elected official and working within a bureaucracy and had a clear working knowledge of governmental processes.

I’d also argue that sec of transportation has far less global impact than sec of defense and therefore has a lower threshold for qualification.

Now. What are Hegseth’s qualifications to lead the most powerful military in the history of the known universe?
I know he has twenty years in of military experience and he has a master's in public policy from Harvard. I would say that Trump was elected to make moves like this. Who know if it will work out, but I think people are tired of career politicians and bureaucrats running this country. Once someone is power for too long, they are compromised.

Trump picks Brendan Carr, a ‘Project 2025’ co-author, to lead FCC: https://on.mktw.net/3Zc5NYi
Ugh

"The FCC is an independent agency that is overseen by Congress, but Trump has suggested he wanted to bring it under tighter White House control, in part to use the agency to punish TV networks that cover him in a way he doesn’t like.

Carr has of late embraced Trump’s ideas about social media and tech. Carr wrote a section devoted to the FCC in “Project 2025,” a sweeping blueprint for gutting the federal workforce and dismantling federal agencies in a second Trump administration produced by the conservative Heritage Foundation.

Trump has claimed he doesn’t know anything about Project 2025, but many of its themes have aligned with his statements."

Unfortunately, yes they do and now networks that don't declare him the winner of the 2020 election will be judicially targeted 💩

Sit back and enjoy. Maybe next time you will tell your political party you would like a say in who they choose as your candidate.

I'm surprised more of your comrades are not upset they didn't have a say in the process.

I believe that much of the population is so pissed off from being bombarded with so much information from biased propaganda that they have reached the point they would vote for the devil just for a change.

The race in technology seems like we are just spiraling into a black hole having no clue what is on the other side .

When will you admit our concerns were justified?
TDS is a serious mental health challenge in our country today, that's for sure.

I have no idea what you are talking about. Nothing you've said has come to fruition or been justified. You regurgitate the same never trump dribble every day. You were wrong. There is a mandate. The majority of Americans want Trump to clean house.

Military readiness is horrifically low right now....if you were wondering.

@dpic73 you really okay with Biden admin escelating the war with Russia with days left in his administration?

It's comical how much the democrat party has changed over the years. It's the party of big government, censorship and military intervention.

We do not need to be escelating a war thousands of miles away.

Another reason why true liberals left your party and the majority of Americans voted for Trump.
