OT: Crazy, terrible story involving two Clemson alums in Houston

Christa Bauer Gilley died a few days ago, and her husband, Lee, claimed she’d overdosed. Now he’s charged with her murder and the murder of their unborn child. They’re both 38 and have two little kids.

I’d been seeing a lot of Facebook friends sharing stuff about Christa, and realized that I remembered her and hung out with her group of friends a good bit. I don’t think I remember Lee, and it’s hard to believe somebody who I’ve met would do something like that. You really never know some people’s hearts.

******Troy Stellato

Out for the year.

Torn ligament in his thumb.

Dabo: "He's been battling it for a couple weeks. Y'all just didn't know."

Stellato has played the third-most snaps among the receivers. They were going to try to get to the end of the season but he just couldn't do it.

Dabo also said Tyler Brown won't be back in time for the South Carolina game.

Clemson’s Path to the Playoff

Seen some questions and guessing around how Clemson can get in so I’ve tried to summarize all that I’ve seen in the ways Clemson could make the CFP. Please fact check me where I’m wrong.

Path #1 - ACC Champion

Clemson’s 2 remaining games do not matter for anything rather than potential seeding (I’ll get to that). In order to even MAKE the ACCCG, one of the following three scenarios must happen:

a) Miami loses to Wake Forest OR loses to Syracuse
b) SMU loses to Virginia AND loses to Cal
c) SMU loses to Virginia AND Virginia defeats Virginia Tech AND Pitt defeats Louisville

If any of the above scenarios happen, Clemson would go to the ACCCG. A win in the ACCCG would get them an auto bid to the CFP. It’s likely, but not guaranteed, that it would also come with a first round bye. My GUESS is that the ACC Champ would get the 3 seed and be ranked over the Group of 5 Champ as well as the Big 12 Champ, but not guaranteed.

Path #2 - At Large Bid

Clemson must win their last 2 games, plain and simple. Additionally, they must NOT go to the ACCCG because a loss there would disqualify them almost certainly. At currently #17 in the poll, we then must hope for losses in front of them.

Either BYU or Colorado will drop below them when ultimately they play one another in the Big 12 Champ Game. That brings the Tigers to #16.

Your cheering guide then becomes:
-Texas to beat Texas A&M
-SMU to lose at some point, even to Miami in the ACCCG

Then comes the tough part. You need to make up 2 more spots. Any combination of 2 of the following would work:
-Ole Miss loses to UF or Miss St
-Tenn loses to Vanderbilt
-Indiana loses to OSU AND Purdue
-Alabama loses to Oklahoma AND Auburn

As you can see, Clemson’s path to the playoff is unlikely. Personally, I see the likeliest path being a Cuse win at Home vs the Hurricanes and Clemson defeating SMU in the ACCCG.

Been a wild ride for the Tigers this year, I just hope they can finish strong.

Man pleads guilty to 2022 murders of three Virginia players

Man pleads guilty to 2022 murders of three Virginia players

By: Associated Press

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. -- A former University of Virginia student pleaded guilty Wednesday to fatally shooting three football players and wounding two other students on the Charlottesville campus in 2022.

Christopher Darnell Jones Jr., 25, pleaded guilty to three counts of first-degree murder, two counts of aggravated malicious wounding and five counts of use of a firearm in the commission of a felony. A four-day sentencing hearing is scheduled to begin Feb. 4 in Albemarle County Circuit Court.

Authorities said Jones opened fire on a charter bus as he and other students arrived back on campus after seeing a play and having dinner together in Washington, D.C.

Authorities had not released a motive. Jones was a former member of the Virginia football team at the time of the shooting. A witness told police that he had targeted specific victims.

Football players Lavel Davis Jr., D'Sean Perry and Devin Chandler were killed, while a fourth member of the team, Mike Hollins, and another student, Marlee Morgan, were wounded.

The shooting erupted near a parking garage and set off panic and a 12-hour lockdown of the campus until the suspect was captured.

Within days of the shooting, university leaders had asked for an outside review to investigate Virginia's safety policies and procedures, its response to the violence and its prior efforts to assess the potential threat of the student who was eventually charged. School officials acknowledged he previously had been on the radar of the university's threat-assessment team.

In June, a lawyer representing some of the victims and their families had announced that the university had agreed to pay $9 million in a settlement.

Kimberly Wald, an attorney who represents some of the families, said at the time that the school would pay $2 million each to the families of the three students who died, the maximum allowable under Virginia law. The school would also pay $3 million total to the two students who were wounded.

Following the settlement, some of the families had also called for the immediate release of an independent investigation into the shooting, which was completed last year.

Wald had said the university should have removed Jones from campus before the attack because he displayed multiple red flags through erratic and unstable behavior.

University officials said they had postponed the report's release last year over concerns that it could affect a trial that had been scheduled for January.

Pennsylvania Election Issues

The beat goes on.

BREAKING: An election integrity group has filed a lawsuit against Pennsylvania election officials to force them to clean the voter rolls ahead of the 2024 election after discovering more votes were counted than voters who voted in the 2022 midterm election, similar to 2020

"The official canvas for the 2022 Pennsylvania Election was 5,410,022 ballots cast yet the data shows there exist 5,400,869 total votes cast – a discrepancy of 9,153 votes."

"Petitioners believe and therefore aver that it is reasonable to believe that systemic issues which occurred in the 2022 combined Federal and state election in Pennsylvania will continue uncorrected in 2024, 2026, 2028, etc. absent intervention by this Court."

The 56 page lawsuit also brings forth many bombshell findings especially from the experts at @Auditthevotepa
- 54,463 people voted in a county in which they were no longer living;
-8,177 people voted despite not actually living in Pennsylvania;
- 6,356 people were credited as submitting a mail-in ballot, but did not have any votes credited in Pennsylvania’s SURE system;
- 644 people voted by mail or absentee ballot, but are not on the mail ballot list;
- 138 people voted by mail, but they had missed the deadline to vote by mail-in ballot;
- 69,832 mail ballots were sent to an address unaffiliated with the voter’s registration;
- 5,914 people requested a mail ballot, who do not exist on the PA voter rolls between 10/3/2022 and 1/16/2023;
- 18,589 people requested multiple ballots be sent to multiple addresses, with some people requesting additional ballots to be sent to up to four (4) separate addresses;
- 5,492 registrations show as having two votes on record in two separate counties.

The lawsuit was filed by United Sovereign Americans
