Ohio State is also going through some major OL injury woes.

Ohio State has suffered a second major injury to its offensive line.

Seth McLaughlin tore his Achilles on Tuesday, according to multiple reports, and is expected to miss the remainder of the 2024 season. Per the Columbus Dispatch, McLaughlin suffered the injury during Tuesday’s practice.

Ohio State has not confirmed the reports, though Ryan Day is scheduled to meet with reporters after Wednesday’s practice.

The injury forces Ohio State to replace its starting center going into a defining stretch of its season that begins Saturday with a top-five matchup against Indiana.

McLaughlin’s injury is a massive loss for the Buckeyes as his stabilizing presence in the middle of the offensive line has been seen as one of the biggest factors in Ohio State’s improvement in the trenches this season. The Alabama transfer earned midseason All-American honors from several media outlets and started all of the Buckeyes’ first 10 games this season at center.

He’s the second starter on Ohio State’s offensive line to be sidelined by a major injury this season. Ohio State left tackle Josh Simmons went down with a season-ending knee injury in the Buckeyes’ sixth game of the year vs. Oregon.

Georgia and Ohio this morning passed executive orders

That allow schools to begin paying immediately as if the House settlement was already finalized and in place. This allows schools in those states to immediately begin paying athletes directly and does not require collective use. Collectives may be used as additives but the schools now have $22 million to use today if they want to directly pay athletes, obviously a huge advantage to schools in those states.

Election Results: Can Trump maintain absolute majority, Reps one seat away from preserving House majority

Reps look to have 218 sewn up with AK district 1, but might also take AZ 6 by the skin of their teeth. CA 49 and a few others look promising as well.

EDIT: AK does ranked choice voting, so if the majority vote winner does not have an absolute majority, then it goes to the ranked-choice system where things can get weird.

Prayers Coach Venables Family

Prayers are pouring in for the family of Oklahoma Sooners head coach Brent Venables on Tuesday morning.

Venables, a longtime Clemson Tigers assistant coach who took the Oklahoma Sooners job when Lincoln Riley left for USC, is having a difficult season. The Sooners are 5-5 on the year in their first season in the SEC. Oklahoma needs to win one of its final two games - vs. Alabama, at LSU - to reach bowl eligibility. It's going to be difficult to do that, to say the least.

Unfortunately, Venables is also going through a difficult time off of the field. His longtime wife, Julie, is battling cancer.

Venables announced on Monday night that his wife's cancer had returned. She underwent surgery to remove a tumor last week.

“A big part of the battle was her choice to fight and she’s going to keep swinging," Venables said.

Prayers are pouring in for his family.

"I can’t imagine how hard it has been on their family. What a toll that must take. Prayers for her and the rest of the family for sure," one fan wrote.

"Praying for the Venables family all the way from longhorn nation," one fan added.

"Some things are bigger than football and I hope people can realize that. Prayers for the Venables family !" one fan added.

"Extremely sad news. From watching my wife’s battle, the absolute greatest fear is the cancer returning. Continued prayers for Julie and the family as they keep fighting," one fan added.

"I’ve been through this with my wife for the last two years Three surgeries and the loss of a breast we are in the all clear. Prayers to the Venables," one fan added.

Our thoughts are with Brent and his family during this difficult time. Our hope is that Julie Venables will be able to fight this and emerge victorious on the other side.

Oklahoma will return to the field on Saturday, taking on Alabama.

Kickoff is currently scheduled for 7:30 p.m. E.T. The game will be airing on ABC.

Benefit to not making CFP?

If I have my timelines right, an argument could be made that it would serve Clemson well to not make the CFP.

Given the transfer portal open date and the playoff schedule, it could be really difficult on staffs that are having to manage both.

And let's be honest, Dabo has his hands full with the number of things within the program that need attention right now.

National Voter ID Law - Trump Proposal

Of course there is no legitimate reason that ID should not be required other than wanting to cheat. The excuses of it’s too hard for black oriole to get an ID are nonsense, and degrading to blacks.

Coincident or not, every state Kammy won was a non-I’d state.

Two weeks post election and some states are still counting votes.Florida was finished counting 2 hours after polls closed. These two do not add up.

We need a framework of national election laws to guide the states.

Clemson's release on basketball signees ...

Release from Clemson:

Clemson, Brownell Sign Three for 2025-26

Tigers sign Zac Foster, Chase Thompson and Trent Steinour

CLEMSON, S.C. – Head Coach Brad Brownell and his staff added Zac Foster (Atlanta, Ga./Woodward Academy), Chase Thompson (Alexandria, Minn./Alexandria Area) and Trent Steinour (Mooresville, N.C./Lake Norman) to the Clemson University men’s basketball program. All three signed to play for the Tigers beginning in 2025-26.

The Clemson recruiting class ranks 22nd nationally, according to 247Sports. Foster jumps into fourth in the 247Sports’ top five rated Clemson recruits of all time.

“I want to congratulate my staff who did a great job signing this class,” said Brownell, “We are excited about adding talented players who are a tremendous fit with the Clemson culture. Zac, Chase and Trent are three good students who come from great families and will blend well with our team.”

Foster is a 6-4, 180-pound four-star guard who ranks as the No. 70 overall prospect in the 2025 class. He is the No. 11 combo guard in the class, according to 247Sports. As a junior, Foster averaged 13.0 points, 5.0 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 2.0 steals per game. He was named All-Region and Honorable Mention All-State in Georgia.

His brother, Marcus, is a senior guard at Xavier, and his mother, Sheri, is in the Hall of Fame for women’s basketball at Loyola Marymount University.

“Zac Foster is a talented combo guard with excellent size, speed and skill for the position. He has grown up in the game, coming from a basketball centric family. Our staff has been following Zac for quite some time and impressed by his versatility, talent and feel for the game. He excelled in the summer league circuit, and we feel he has a bright future playing multiple positions at Clemson.”

Foster chose Clemson over Virginia Tech, Cincinnati, Georgia and West Virginia.

Thompson is a 6-8, 215-pound four-star forward and ranks as the No. 94 player in the country, according to Rivals. He ranks No. 1 overall in the state of Minnesota according to PrepHoops. Thompson is a dual-sport athlete and stars in basketball and football as a quarterback.

Thompson averaged 19.0 points and 9.6 rebounds per game as a junior. He led Alexandria Area to a final four appearance in the MSHSL state tournament last March. His older brother, Treyton, plays basketball at Stetson University.

“Chase Thompson is a multi-sport athlete who has excelled as a leader in both sports. This weekend he’s quarterbacking his football team in the state championship. On the court, his versatility and skill level should allow him to play effectively all over the floor. I am impressed by his competitive nature and winning pedigree and look forward to working with him as soon he gets on campus.”

Thompson chose Clemson over Iowa and West Virginia.

Steinour is a 6-10, 215-pound forward/center who ranks as a three-star, according to 247Sports. Steinour is the grandson of former Clemson big man Randy Mahaffey who played for the Tigers from 1964-67.

As a junior, Steinour averaged 16.0 points, 10.5 rebounds and 4.3 blocks per game and helped lead Lake Norman to the Elite Eight of the NCHSAA state tournament.

“Trent Steinour is the latest addition to Clemson from the legendary Mahaffey family. He’s long, athletic and runs the floor extremely well. A tireless worker, Trent has worked hard to develop his perimeter game throughout high school, and we think he will fit very well into our hi/low motion offense.”

Steinour chose Clemson over Georgia, Penn State, Virginia Tech, Wake Forest and South Carolina.
