I caught up with Rivals100 DB Corian Gipson to get the latest on his recruitment ahead of his Saturday commitment. Clemson has been in a strong position since the spring largely thanks to Michael Reed.

I have a 12 year old pioneer elite that I have played DD through many times. My current set up:

PS5 for DVD (yes, watching Inception with daughter for the first time) that is connected straight to the tv via HDMI.

LG OLED is connected to the receiver via optical but I can only get Pro Logic.

What am I missing? Does running the PS5 through the tv prevent the DD? I have tried to adjust every setting. Usually, when DD is present, it defaults to it.

I believe that I am having this issue when I stream as well. I am just now using my systems again now that the kids will not be around as much or be woken up.

I feel like I'm going to be the minority here, but I mostly liked it. I was laid up yesterday with food poisoning (told ya there would be spoilage) and I watched all 5. Really liked the first 3, was entertained by the last 2. None met all timer status, but a good rebound from season 5.

Boys, I saw 6 clemson hats today at the open. Talked to many British and msn I’m glad to be a clemson alum.

Who’s the better recruiter. Both give you the feeling that they get who they want. Might have to give the edge to Reed for now because of how long he’s been recruiting and developing guys.

If you had $250k to invest in a side project, one that demanded little time or attention, and produced a decent residual/passive income for the foreseeable future... what avenue would you take?

A San Francisco Art Gallery owner was given 35 hours of community service for hosing a filthy, nasty, mentally sick(according to officials..I think the severity is the question) homeless person with water to have he/she/it move from outside his gallery. Officials were called over 50 times in 1 months because it has crapped on the sidewalk in front of everyone, spits on everyone, puts hands on others,steals and anything else you can think of. Nothing is done except to the business owner. What is YOUR answer when cops, health and city officials turn their backs? I can tell you that I would recruit local Owners who have served in our military, can keep their mouths shut and doesn't mind inflicting hurt. Start at the top with the biggest problem makers. Eventually they'd go.

Some friends (actually met through very close friends) are moving to Seneca area. Their son is a wrestler (last year he was at Mauldin), and went to a wrestling S&C offseason session, and the Seneca coach came in and told the team he was leaving the program. My friend moving to Seneca calls the AD, and said he would coach, but give the money ($4k I believe) to a teacher and they do the administrative stuff. He did this at Mauldin a while back as well. Actually this will be his 3rd time doing this; first was in Wisconson. He is actually pretty well connected through the community, and is well liked; best I can tell. He has reached out to some big time past wrestlers for some help as well. I was taken aback, but he asked if I could help him out some, and I told him I would be an observer (make sure he is not too hard on his son), and even willing to work with kids teaching basic moves. Seneca was not a good wrestling program, and he is hoping to give them a good foundation.

My kids went to Walhalla, but I guess I will be a Bobcat wrestling fan next year. It has been a while since I have been to a HS wrestling match, but looking forward to it now.

@nmerritt11 - Not sure if you know him, or not? His name is Erik Hare, and his son's name is Dane. He qualified for state at Mauldin, but got injured before it started is the story if memory serves.

I do not know how the Corian Gipson recruiting story will end. Maybe this high school guy will become a Long Horn. Maybe he will make a better decision and choose to be a Clemson Tiger. I hope it will go the Tigers way. But however Gipson goes a few things are clear.

Texas was once a big name program in college football and Clemson was a second tier at best program. That is the story the Long Horns like. But at this point Texas is all hat and no cattle. And Lil' Ole Clemson? Tiny Clemson is a bigger presence with better records and better prospects than big bad Texas. While Texas was basking in the glory of the good ole days, Tiny Clemson kicked Texas ass by any measure even vaguely related t what happened on the football field

What time frame should we consider? Since 1977, Clemson has won 410 games. Texas won 377. Clemson won 14 ACC Conference Titles, Texas won 4 SWC titles and 3 Big 12 titles. Clemson won 3 national titles. Texas won 1 title. Clemson played in the college football championship game 5 times winning 3 times. Texas had 1 title game and won it.

Yaknow, I do not hate Texas. My youngest child got a Master's degree from Texas. I have spent a lot of time in Austin. I sort of like Texas. But, by any reasonable measure Texas is a second tier program at best and the Long Horns have been eclipsed by at least 3 ACC football programs (Miami, FSU, Clemson) and equaled by Pitt and GT in National titles for the last 45 years.

I hear Texas is moving to the SEC. I guess that makes 3 leagues in 45 years. Texas is like the Boll Weevil; just looking for a home. Yall remind me of Texas Christian or maybe West Virginia.
