Dabo = Bobby Bowden 2.0

… but Bobby was old and FSU had a reason to transition. Clemson only has one reason and its results on the field. Is that enough? Doubtful.

I think it all comes down to keeping the main thing the main thing. It seems Dabo has reached the pinnacle of the sport by winning two national championships so he is hyper focused on doing everything else. Graduation rate, PAW journey, etc. That stuff is great and extremely warranted, but you get paid to coach winning football. In fact, you get paid $11 million per year to win football games.

Look, I understand Dabo transformed the program, but where is his accountability? Ultimately, he isn’t doing his job well. If “best is the standard” then Dabo needs to be held to that as well.

Watching other games yesterday was extremely sobering. We’ve been lapped by programs that we sub .500 a few years ago. Adapt or die.. right now we look pretty dead.

Why I joined TI

Back in the early 2000s it was recruiting. Before all the platforms arrived this was the newest and best way. Recruiting was fun.

That has been changing for 10 years. It no longer concerns me. We literally get who we get. At this point I’m here for the message boards.

I’d love to be top 5 in recruiting like we once were but that will not be the case anytime soon. I also wholeheartedly support Dabo and and our the locker room as our portal. We shall all see.
