A new offer out for this class ...

Clemson has offered Fuquay Varina (N.C.) high-three star safety Malcolm Ziglar.

Ziglar visited today, as we foreshadowed this morning.

As we reported, Ziglar will not be coming to the official visit weekend.

Ziglar has official visits arranged with South Carolina (June 9-11), Notre Dame (June 16-18) and UNC (June 23-25), and we stated the expectation for Penn State to be added to the docket for this weekend because Clemson wasn't going to be an option.

This was a battle between UNC and South Carolina, per our intel. Time will tell on both sides whether Clemson wiggles into the equation.

How do Wesco, Moore, and Matthews compare to Ohio State's WR class?

I don't watch much film but obviously their guys are higher ranked (which as discussed with Sammy Brown doesn't mean much). I love Clemson guys and am immediately biased when they decide to come on board but curious if someone more objective can compare our 2 guys and Matthews to Jeremiah Smith and Mylan Graham? Also Brandon Innis from last year? Heck and to UNC's Andre Greene from 2 years ago?

More offers seem to be going out

SIAP- I’ve been away from TI this week more than my addiction prefers, but have we discussed the increase in summer offers going out for ‘25 guys?

Looks like a lot more offers going out than the last few years. I know casting a wider initial net has been a complaint here and it looks like once again Dabo is adjusting.

Once repeat myself saying we should sign 25 every year as we likely have many more transfers out than in.

I think we’re headed back to more CFPs and this is the most excited I’ve been about the progrum’s direction in a few years.

OT... Chevrolet 2018 Silverado 5.3 Engine Issues (Misfire)

My 2018 silverado with 52, 000 miles started skipping (misfire) on cylinder 1... 3 days ago.
2 months out of warranty.
I changed the spark plug and verified the ignition coil on that cylinder was not the issue.
I am taking to local mechanic who is a friend of mine on Monday for him to diagnose.
From my research and what he is saying, there is a good chance this could be a collapsed DOD lifter due to AFM (turns off half of the Cylinders to improve gas mileage)
Meaning head pulled and lifters replaced at minimum.
I have had this motor in V8 mode since I bought it new in 2018 using a Range disabler to try and avoid this happening. 😕
Has anyone else had to get this repair done?

A new defensive offer out today ...

We mentioned in a board response yesterday that Darien Mayo and Dominic Nichols were the two additional options beyond Eddrick Houston whom we'd strongly highlighted.

The other one in that tier -- whom we'd mentioned before, but held off listing yesterday -- was Atlanta (Ga.) Mays' Quintavius Johnson.

Johnson visited today and picked up the offer.

He is coming off an official visit to South Carolina and is slated to take officials to Georgia and Tennessee these next two weeks.

Release from Clemson:

Junior lefthander and first baseman Caden Grice was named the winner of the John Olerud Two-Way Player-of-the-Year Award on Tuesday, presented by the College Baseball Foundation. Grice is Clemson’s first winner of the award that was first presented in 2010.

Grice (Greer, S.C.) was a two-way star for the Tigers in 2023. He was 8-1 with a 3.35 ERA, .196 opponents’ batting average and 101 strikeouts against 33 walks in 78.0 innings pitched over 14 starts on the mound. At the plate, the first-team All-American hit .307 with 18 homers, a triple, 15 doubles, 68 RBIs, 60 runs, a .618 slugging percentage, .411 on-base percentage and four steals in 59 games.

In his three-year Tiger career, he is 10-2 with a 3.73 ERA, .203 opponents’ batting average and 122 strikeouts against 46 walks in 94.0 innings pitched over 26 appearances (17 starts). At the plate, he is hitting .288 with 45 homers, two triples, 35 doubles, 161 RBIs, 145 runs and 12 steals in 168 games.

The award is named for the former Washington State standout who achieved success both as a first baseman and lefthander during the late 1980s and was inducted into the National College Baseball Hall of Fame in 2007.
