3 Covid Cases on football team?

Lather, rinse, repeat. Kinda like "Monday Insiders". The next few years may see the complete demise of everything remotely "normal" about college sports. And for that matter, any level of common sense as we once knew it. This world has completely turned upside down -- just total insanity. Stupidity rules. Congrats to all the socialists, nihilists and sheep. In just over a decade, you have basically weakened or erased America's world leadership and accomplishments of the past 250 years.
Bingo! Agree my friend.

This Country has gone to crap, simple as that. Will continue to get worse and fear for my kids more than anything.

I understand losing a loved one is difficult and extremely emotional experience, but really don’t get your comment. How can someone getting the vaccine help you, or someone not getting it hurt you. You can get it and carry it even if you are vaccinated. The only thing a vaccine does is lessen symptoms. Personally I don’t care if others are vaccinated or not. I close to get the vaccine but know many who haven’t, and I have not hard feeling with them at all.
If the vaccine would protect you against getting or carrying Covid, then I would get your logic but it doesn’t.
The vaccine does prevent infection in many cases. The fact that it doesn’t prevent all infections does not mean it doesn’t prevent any infections.

Also, you admit it does reduce the impact of the virus in the case of a breakthrough infection, that likely includes a shorter period of time that a person is contagious, thus reducing spread.

I fully support people having a choice about getting the vaccine. Mandates are wrong. However saying the vaccine isn’t saving lives is just disingenuous.

Marone - Italian pronunciation (southern dialect/Neapolitan) of the word "Madonna", literally referring to the Virgin Mary (the mother of Christ). Equivalent would be "Holy Smokes".. A phrase to represent surprise, amazement, or down right shock. Could be used in many contexts.
"oh Marone a mi, who let one go?"
"Marone, this guy complains more than Woody Allen..."
"Marone, you yap worse than 6 barbers."

In the Sopranos episode when Paulie visited Tony in the hospital while in a comma. Paulie in shock proclaims "uff Marone, he looks terrible!"

My only question to that is how can we honestly call them "breakthrough" cases when a petty high percentage of vaccinated are carrying and spreading the virus? I'm completely against mandates but calling these cases breakthrough cases seems like a lie at best

We are going to have some hurt feelings here. But essentially your take is spot on. There is grievance counseling and Safe Spaces to discuss a massive shift we will see in 2022. Starting with the Defund Police Types. I hope they are first on the chopping block.

It would be nice if we could get a variant that killed most of the unvaxxed so the rest of us can move on. Those selfish pieces of shit have had enough time.

Wow time to ban this triggered liberal

I am too...and I have been hammered by it since last Wednesday evening.
Same for me (boosted) and daughter (2 shots). COVID since last Wed. Very mild for us. Sniffles, malaise, some chills. No fever or cough though.

My wife, son and other daughter (same household) are all negative. I caught it early with a home test followed by PCR and we've done isolation and masks strictly.

I did the dumb thing and sat in a testing site drive up line for 4 hours. All the symptoms minus fever. Test came back negative. I have a cold, remember those?
Yeah, I’ve been sick as shit the last two weeks with cough due to cold symptoms but have tested negative for covid three times. I’m pretty sure I’d rather have covid than whatever this crap is.

Yeah I agree I’m vaxed and boosted just makes no sense to still be testing asymptomatic people with a highly effective vaccine. So stupid to still have the same policies as we had before the vaccine. At least after Omicron hopefully we will reach herd immunity and good news Omicron doesn’t seem as deadly👍
It doesn’t appear that herd immunity is easily attainable with so many different variants. My nephew has had COVID three times spaced six months apart each time. Also, had symptoms each time. He is also vaccinated, but don’t know about booster.

I have coughed up enough stuff that it could have been served as oysters at the raw bar. I thought a dry cough was the telltale sign. Not for me.

I got tested to know for sure I have it...it's likely gonna keep me from attending the funeral of a great Clemson Tiger who died Christmas morning...but I'll be damned if I'm gonna infect some 80 and 90 years old people simply because I feel good enough to be in public. I don't want that on my conscience.

If I had a cold and/or fever I wouldn't need a test to tell me to avoid people; especially older people.

Real test or rapid?

Well, like someone said above any strain is going to be more deadly to old, fat, or sick people ..... vaccinated or not.

Monoclonal antibodies if you’re sick and if not move the hell on. This country has become a disgrace in regard to this virus. This shit will never end at this rate. And no vaccinating everyone won’t end the virus.

Some people don't carry the virus in their nasal passages and will test negative over and over again. Got get tested for IgM antibodies. I know of this happening more than a few times.

Real test. My wife actually works at several of the testing facilities in the midlands. But what you describe sure does sound an awful lot like what I’ve been dealing with.
I tested negative on a rapid on Friday early afternoon before driving 4.5 hours to see my family...I knew that was a mistake once I started (because I was feeling absolutely horrible with what I thought was the flu, which my son had a few days earlier) but I promised my daughter I'd be there Christmas morning...I think it was incubating in them already. I sat in the corner w a mask on. Left after seeing them for 1 hour. They rapid tested negative later Christmas morning but woke up on the 26th feeling bad.

I have not tested again since being with the both sides of the family for Christmas, that’s the main reason why I did the test three times prior. I left my attendance up to my parents. They’re the ones at biggest risk. I sure do pray those test were accurate.

The current monoclonal antibody treatments including regeneron's do not work on omicron.

Just another way to get the “vaccine”. This is how it is going to continue to play out, wave after wave, until we simply ignore it.
Not really. It will eventually become an endemic and be part of everyday life. It's possible omicron is a huge step towards that, but that's impossible to tell at this point. We need more data. It's also possible it could mutate into a less transmissible strain that is far more fatal. I'm leaning towards us getting closer to endemic, bit it's just too hard to tell. Either way, if you're sick, stay home. Unfortunately people just don't do that on a consistent enough basis.

Agree, and becoming endemic is what I meant by wave after wave. Omicron is a good sign.
