Should people like this be allowed to vote? How about requiring everyone to pass a basic test before being allowed to vote?
Not saying it applies here, but it may be more efficient to take petroleum/gasoline to electricity in a powerplant for use in cars than to have cars convert gas to power individually.
It's less work to cook for 1,000 people at once than 1 person 1,000 times if you have the means to do it.

Well, I think that's the goal; we clearly can't stop all at once. I'm not giving up hamburgers and steak because cows fart.
Mining lithium isn't great for the environment either (to say the least). On the other hand, the argument is that we're fighting time and trying to manage risk. You take the lithium problem if it means sea levels don't rise as much, the ocean retains more oxygen and less carbonic acid, and global currents don't collapse. Chemotherapy and radiation treatment raise your risk of developing secondary cancer. You deal with that problem later
I don't think it's silly at all to point out that a lot of what's marketed as "green" isn't as immediately great for the environment as we'd like, but at the bare minimum, I count acknowledgement of the problem as progress of some kind. My biggest issue with the GOP on the subject is that they're so beholden to big oil, they don't see an issue at all.
I don't know if it was you or someone else, but there was a post a while back saying lots of carbon dioxide is good in the atmosphere because it's good for plants. Ok, in and of itself that's probably not a bad thing, but you have to realize most plant life is in the ocean. More CO2 in the atmosphere will lead to more carbonic acid there, and I'm not keen to find out how good phytoplankton are at surviving dropping pH. Point is, the butterly effect is real, and it's a time for education and caution. I don't see it from the GOP.

No doubt about that. But I'll settle for everyone at least acknowledging there is a problem. We aren't even there yet
I don't think there is a consensus on that either. For the record I am all for protecting the environment.
