Infrastructure investment is the economic policy most necessary right now. Infrastructure creates more good jobs for everyone including the poor and minorities.Bidens economy continues to crush the less fortunate. Poor families, which includes a larger % of minorities, continue to struggle to afford food, gas, rent and other necessities. If cold weather hits before the election, heating their homes will be come an additional struggle.
Hopefully it opens the eyes to the abject disdain the dem party has for the poor and makes them realize voting dem for the last 50 yrs has gained them nothing but more struggles and govt dependency - which is the dem goal.
So how much of other peoples money are you willing to spend?Infrastructure investment is the economic policy most necessary right now. Infrastructure creates more good jobs for everyone including the poor and minorities.
You and Margeret Thatcher are both wrong. Infrastructure investment benefits everyone so there is no "other peoples" money. And done properly, infrastructure investment can help reduce inflation. And provide other benefits. So how much of other peoples money are you willing to spend?
No need for you to say anything because I already know the answer. You want other people to spend their money. Not you.
This administration has crippled the middle class, the poor, and minorities. People are spending hundreds of dollars more every month for basic stuff: food, gasoline, housing/rent, utilities--the list goes on and on.
Everything American citizens spend money on has gone up dramatically in the last 3 1/2 years, yet you want to spend more of other people's money, spend money we don't have, and raise inflation even more. If there was a such thing as an "internet dunce cap", you should be wearing it.
So disregard essentially everything I said only to spew this drivel. You and Margeret Thatcher are both wrong. Infrastructure investment benefits everyone so there is no "other peoples" money. And done properly, infrastructure investment can help reduce inflation. And provide other benefits.
In short, infrastructure (and the jobs it creates) reduces welfare and the need for unemployment insurance. More employment means less crime and better health in general. And I believe better education outcomes. So disregard essentially everything I said only to spew this drivel.
What is your plan? Why don't you spell it out for all of us. We could all stand to learn from someone as educated as you.
Hambone, is it really that difficult for you?So disregard essentially everything I said only to spew this drivel.
What is your plan? Why don't you spell it out for all of us. We could all stand to learn from someone as educated as you.
You and dickpick @dpic73 are too stupid to breathe. Who pays for this "ish" you are proposing? Oh, that's right, the taxpayers. In short, infrastructure (and the jobs it creates) reduces welfare and the need for unemployment insurance. More employment means less crime and better health in general. And I believe better education outcomes.
To say there is no "other peoples money" is just ridiculous. A large portion of the population has a minimal to zero effective tax rate. The people that use most of the govt resources pay the least for them. You and Margeret Thatcher are both wrong. Infrastructure investment benefits everyone so there is no "other peoples" money. And done properly, infrastructure investment can help reduce inflation. And provide other benefits.
I thought we had already heard the stupidest thing you could ever say, but you've topped yourself here. You and dickpick @dpic73 are too stupid to breathe. Who pays for this "ish" you are proposing? Oh, that's right, the taxpayers.
Your party has pissed money down a hole for DECADES. DECADES.
I'll tell you what stops crimes. Start actually prosecuting the people that commit them. Put them in prison. That would stop it.
What are your proposed spending cuts? I'll agree with you that we should not spend a penny on EV's or charging stations. Meanwhile back in the '80s, the Dem proposed at least once, possibly more times, budgets less than Reagan submitted. Reagan sure did spend on defense which propped up his jobs numbers. You and dickpick @dpic73 are too stupid to breathe. Who pays for this "ish" you are proposing? Oh, that's right, the taxpayers.

I wonder what the equity market vs. actual inflation?I refuse to believe you are this dumb. You have to be a troll account.
Inflation is not 3%. And the total inflation since 2021 is closer to 35-40%. Which again makes since considering we printed 40% of the worlds money supply in just 1 year.
As I have told you several times. EVERYTHING is more expensive because your purchasing power has been destroyed. Especially the equity market.
So you'd agree to more taxes for more prisons and prison personnel but not for infrastructure to get them to the prison? You're a genius. By the way, we already lead the world in imprisonment. You and dickpick @dpic73 are too stupid to breathe. Who pays for this "ish" you are proposing? Oh, that's right, the taxpayers.

We are going to need more prisons for the good bit of criminals who have now made this great place their home illegally. So you'd agree to more taxes for more prisons and prison personnel but not for infrastructure to get them to the prison? You're a genius. By the way, we already lead the world in imprisonment.
That's just patently untrue. No statistical evidence or metrics come to that conclusion. Just spouting lies you heard on Fox or want so badly to be true in your bigoted little brain, regardless of the evidence. Propaganda and social manipulation...it's real.We are going to need more prisons for the good bit of criminals who have now made this great place their home illegally.
Thanks Prez!
Exactly who is supposed to pay for the roads, bridges and railways that need to be repaired or replaced? 🤔
Dear Lord. Just shut-up.That's just patently untrue. No statistical evidence or metrics come to that conclusion. Just spouting lies you heard on Fox or want so badly to be true in your bigoted little brain, regardless of the evidence. Propaganda and social manipulation...it's real.
That means the taxpayer will still be paying for it and in South Carolina, the federal govt. has to make up the difference in funding needed to repair their infrastructure. I haven't lived there in many years but it seems like they are also inept when it comes to completing a project in a timely manner(see I-85 between Greenville and the NC border). Maybe the infrastructure law helps to speed up that timeline but regardless, it takes revenue from taxation to get any of it done.Revenue for such projects should always be kept as close to the project as possible. For example a state gas tax for state road improvements makes the most sense. Same for bridge repair.
You're just delusional. All unrealistic perception and no reality. You want to fix things that arent broke, and ignore real problems. You can't fix things when you believe in fairy tales from your cult.Dear Lord. Just shut-up.
If you can't see what has happened then just continue living in your little world and let us grown-ups try and fix what you kids and your socialist, anti-democracy, traitor leaders have done.
The only bigoted brain in this conversation is the one calling the other the bigot!
But he's heard Trump say they are all a bunch of criminals so it has to be true....right?You're just delusional. All unrealistic perception and no reality. You want to fix things that arent broke, and ignore real problems. You can't fix things when you believe in fairy tales from your cult.
Exactly. But he's heard Trump say they are all a bunch of criminals so it has to be true....right?
So, you’re going to choose to not use common sense in this mathematical equation? That's just patently untrue. No statistical evidence or metrics come to that conclusion. Just spouting lies you heard on Fox or want so badly to be true in your bigoted little brain, regardless of the evidence. Propaganda and social manipulation...it's real.

Decent paying jobs are not drivel. I answered your question. So disregard essentially everything I said only to spew this drivel.
What is your plan? Why don't you spell it out for all of us. We could all stand to learn from someone as educated as you.
Whether you use the roads or not, you'll still be benefitting from the overall boost to the economy that comes with an additional ~ 700,000 jobs a year.Yes the taxpayer will need to pay for it. But it should be local utilization based taxes rather than federal income based taxes. Makes zero sense for me to pay 40X more for road improvements than someone who uses it the same or more than I do.
So how much of other peoples money are you willing to spend?

If there was a such thing as an "internet dunce cap", you should be wearing it. (The inflation was mostly due to supply chain interruptions and higher oil prices once employment started recovering.)
The trucks that supply you with all your stuff cross state lines. Do you prefer dirt roads?Yes the taxpayer will need to pay for it. But it should be local utilization based taxes rather than federal income based taxes. Makes zero sense for me to pay 40X more for road improvements than someone who uses it the same or more than I do.
We're talking about infrastructure, not income support spending. To say there is no "other peoples money" is just ridiculous. A large portion of the population has a minimal to zero effective tax rate. The people that use most of the govt resources pay the least for them.
Also, please explain how it can reduce inflation.

What is sad is your denial. You're just delusional. All unrealistic perception and no reality. You want to fix things that arent broke, and ignore real problems. You can't fix things when you believe in fairy tales from your cult.
Never ceases to amaze me how much anti-democratic rhetoric is spouted by you ignorant people in the name of saving democracy. And you're just oblivious to it. Sad.
This is not a discussion about whether or not we need infrastructure improvement. I live in SC and there is no doubt we need infrastructure spending. Our roads are not good. However, states and county municipalities need to be fixing local roads. We're talking about infrastructure, not income support spending.
Crowded and dilapidated roads increase costs for truckers delivering household goods. And supplies and machinery for factories and construction sites. And for citizens to get to work, shopping, doctor's appointments, etc. Mass transit can hopefully help some in this regard. Finally, the American Society of Civil Engineers includes ports as worthy of further investment. We all saw the effect on inflation from supply chain disruptions.

I believe in "keep it simple stupid".There should be a mix. Some federal support for interstate type infrastructure. Would prefer to see us fund it with utilization based taxes though. Gas tax, etc.
There needs to be a significant fee on the purchase of EV's to compensate for the lack of gas tax they will be paying even though they will be using the roads at the same rate. There should be a mix. Dont they already have that? There needs to be a significant fee on the purchase of EV's to compensate for the lack of gas tax they will be paying even though they will be using the roads at the same rate.

Lol, at fixing pot holes having any measurable impact on inflation. That is just an asinine argument. Furthermore, supply chain issues were not primarily a result of crappy infrastructure. (traffic is what adds to inflation regarding the infrastructure argument.)
And you were 100% wrong on the other people's $ argument. No surprise you did not comment on that. While just giving $$$ away is indeed not the same as infrastructure spending, the end result is pretty much the same. Govt spending, in all forms, has an impact on inflation - and not a good one. (I'm not sure if I'm answering your question. Re-state if I'm not. I know I am going to get pushback from you but I'm going to say it anyway. Nobody likes see people who don't work get government money.; But most people want a society out of control with crime and drug abuse and homelessness. It's a tradeoff ... one in which I know that more job creation leads to better outcomes. You can't possibly believe that anyone likes to pay more taxes than necessary.)
You're as myopic as MagooDon’t care about that, I care about results and the best index of American companies is at an all time high.
There always has been traffic. That is why we should always strive to get more cars off the road. Wouldn't decent mass transit alternatives be better than more regulations/taxes?This is not a discussion about whether or not we need infrastructure improvement. I live in SC and there is no doubt we need infrastructure spending. Our roads are not good. However, states and county municipalities need to be fixing local roads.
Lol, at fixing pot holes having any measurable impact on inflation. That is just an asinine argument. Furthermore, supply chain issues were not primarily a result of crappy infrastructure. (traffic is what adds to inflation regarding the infrastructure argument.) The reason this argument makes no sense is the fact that there was almost the exact same traffic and road conditions right before inflation as there was after inflation. There was no seismic change in traffic as it relates to infrastructure that came about that had any significant impact on inflation. That is simply a crazy argument.
And you were 100% wrong on the other people's $ argument. No surprise you did not comment on that. I am against more govt spending in general, but that is not the argument I am making. My reply was that it is always(not never) other peoples $$$ that pays for govt spending - no matter what it is. The govt does not have $$$ other than what they take from us. To that argument, however, I don't mind helping people who help themselves(which takes many forms). What I have a problem with is riding by an apartment complex that has a high rate of HUD/govt subsidized rent and seeing cars other than 20 yr old corollas, people talking on $1200 iPhones and wearing name brand clothes, and seeing them at restaurants rather than at home eating a sandwich. I would like to eat out more, have nicer vehicles, take more vacations, etc.
