This was the 1970's and he has denied it....its a he said she said and basically being put out to help defeat him in the senate contest. Real interesting how this gets out in the press very quickly with no proof after Clinton and Obama were protected by the mainstream press over the years. The world was a different place back in the 70's also...the mama was apparently more than willing to leave her 14 year old daughter alone with this stranger while she went in the courthouse.

One was 14 the other 17. Last 2 were 18 and 19, respectively. He was buying drinks to the 18 years old while the legal drinking age was 19 at the time. Not only did he break the law, he's a creep.

This discussion probably belongs somewhere else. That said, we need to be careful when taking what the bible says too literally. All you have to do is pull out the old testament and there are things that I just can't accept on faith. I have a hard time believing that angels came down from heaven, mated with humans and produced giants. That doesn't mean I don't have faith in God. It just means that I accept the bible as the word of God, written by men, and subject to interpretation. Many things may be in parable. Creation perhaps.

I also believe that Christ's prohibition against homosexuality was against the predominant form of homosexuality of the time, pedophilia. It's been literally interpreted erroneously over the years, at least partially due to prejudices.

You may be right with regard to the legal aspects of the story. But dead wrong on the moral aspects. Plying an underage girl (or one of legal drinking age) with alcohol in an effort to reduce her inhibitions and ability to think clearly is certainly fair game to use to discredit Moore. Full disclosure here. I really, really, really don't like Roy Moore. I'd vote for Trump twice for President before I'd let this guy be the local dog catcher. Here you have a man who was elected to the highest court in his state and has continually put his own personal beliefs above the rule of law. When the supreme court ruled that the 10 commandments must be removed from government grounds, he refused. That's not OK in any way shape or form if you are a justice. You are absolutely free to have your own beliefs and opinions, but if you hold public office, you MUST follow the law of the land. He also believes that Muslims should not be allowed to server in congress and that parts of the US are under Shara law.

So a couple of things here. I'm assuming that you think that Clinton and Obama being "protected" by the press over the years was wrong. Great, I agree. Then wouldn't the press "protecting" Moore be every bit as wrong? Shouldn't the story get out? The rest of this argument is off the charts. Sure the 70s were a different time. But it was and still is illegal for a 30 year old guy to screw a 14 year old girl. And I'd agree that the mom's judgement was off (but remember the 70s were different, Moore was a public servant even then.. a lawyer, someone that you could supposedly trust. But granting that the mom shouldn't have left her daughter with him, does that somehow make it OK for a 30 year old man to screw the 14 year old? This is victim blaming at it's best. Why don't you go all in and just say the 14 year old was wearing skimpy clothing and "asking for it"?

Look, I have no idea whether he did this or not. There are pretty good scientific numbers (FBI) that say between 2 and 10 per cent of sexual assault charges are fake. So assuming twice the chance, there's still an 80% probability that these charges are real. If he's innocent let him fight the charges and prove it, if he's guilty put him in jail and throw away the key. Jumping to any conclusion whether that be assuming Moore's guilt or assuming these women are lying is simply that... jumping to conclusions.

Okay. Guess I'm all the things you guys are saying.. I have said 3 times throughout this that he should have to answer to the 14 year old allegations and if there is any smoke to it, he should be punished. I just don't get the level of demonizing for the rest of the story. The 3 other girls would not be news at all without the 4th. Well, Juanita Brodderick explicitly told the story of being raped by Bill Clinton in a hotel room. Her roommate at the hotel, who came into the room afterwards, has corroborated that Juanita's lip was swollen and bleeding, she was crying and her clothing was torn and messed up. Not to mention that Juanita told her she had been raped by Clinton.
