Department Of Education - Bye Bye

Obviously the amount of responsibility is up for debate, but addiction to technology and things like tiktok/reels/youtube videos are a huge thing and IMO are going to be the next generations cigarettes. I just don't think it's healthy.

100% we are literally drugging our kids with screens. When a young kid uses screens they have the same dopamine but and withdrawals as Heroin....

Stupid idea. Particularly when you realize that the vast majority of Funding for education comes from the Federal Government. Where do you think that money is coming from?

Get ready for the Red States to have the worst Education systems in the country.
Lol they already do. Red states almost have the most citizens on welfare, Medicaid and food stamps. Red states do nothing but mooch

Studies are showing that reading levels are dropping for students around the world. Not just the United States. A big conclusion for this is due to smart phones, social media etc. People arent reading books as much and their reading is quick grabs off twitter or articles.

We are all getting dumber with the massive amount of technology at our fingertips.
Idiocracy the movie coming true.

Clearly it’s unhealthy. There’s roughly 3500 students in that chart. How many of them are technology casualties? My guess is not many, not when zero hit their targets. That’s a systemic problem almost all within one area of one state. Why would you not immediately look at that as opposed to screen time that effects literally everyone? This is what I mean by shell game with you guys. It’s a constant diversion and distraction and no desire to deal with things directly.

We were having a higher level conversation about education overall and society as a whole. You can focus on that chart deeply if you like. No one is criticizing you for it.

Did you guys know that California and NY were red states???

Based on SNAP data, California, Florida, and Texas have the highest number of welfare recipients, followed by New York and Pennsylvania.

Here's a more detailed breakdown:

  • California: Leads in the number of SNAP households, with 1,911,000.
  • Florida: Follows closely with 1,632,000 SNAP households.
    • Texas: Comes in third with 1,595,000 SNAP households.
    • New York: Completes the top five.

Here’s another for food stamps. Damn DC and Oregon those red sob’s.

Which states have the highest and lowest rates of food stamp usage?

In New Mexico, 22.9% of the population receives SNAP benefits – the highest of any state, according to a Pew Research Center analysis of SNAP recipient figures and Census Bureau population estimates for July 2022, the most recent available. The District of Columbia is next-highest at 21.4%, followed by Oregon at 17.8% and West Virginia at 17.7%. (We excluded the Virgin Islands and Guam from this analysis because the Census Bureau doesn’t have 2022 population estimates for them. But using 2020 census counts instead would give them rates of 23.8% and 23.6%, respectively.)

Holy shit bro. I got Medicaid too. You are 0-3. What an idiot. Do you not have google?

California has the highest use of Medicaid in the United States, with the largest Medicaid program in the country.

Medicaid spending

  • California spends the most on Medicaid, followed by New York, Texas, Pennsylvania, and Florida
  • California's Medic

Are you going by count? Wouldn’t the states with the highest population be expected? I’d guess he was saying per capita or compared to GDP or something. Comparing entitlements taken out to taxes contributed.

Yeah, I put that in my first sentence. That I wasn’t really making a direct argument or debating it was THE cause or anything. Before I stated anything else. I wasn’t playing a shell game, you need to lighten up Francis.

Read his post. Not sure what to tell you. He’s wrong on every level. And of course the taxes in those states are substantially higher. Look at all the crazy programs they have. That stuff is paid for by taxpayers. The tax burden of living in SC is much lower than Cali. Why do you think that is? Can’t be because it’s old or dumb right? Weren’t we the first state? It’s out of control because of their policies.

For instance I posted last week a law being passed in California that requires the state to cover all illegal immigrant healthcare. Who pays for that?

He did include stats that New Mexico, then Oregon, then DC have the highest per capita SNAP usage. All 3 democrat strongholds.

Even within red states, how much of the welfare demand is driven by dem voters? Statistics on political party and poverty level suggest a lot. How much of SC’s welfare demand is in Clyburn’s blue district?

I didn’t want to go there after he said per capita because that would destroy his narrative. He should look at a racial demographic map of our country. I think he’d be surprised.

Sounds like you’re talking about state taxes? Referring to programs. And tax burden.

Thought the discussion was about federal programs like SNAP so was referring to federal taxes which isn’t state dependent.

I wouldn’t be surprised. Not at all. We would just likely disagree on the reason perhaps.

Well of course we would disagree. We all know this is the evil, conservative, white mans fault. Who is could it be?? Couldn’t possibly be the people that won’t go get jobs right. Good ol systemic racism baby.

There’s no way any of these folks could do the jobs that you claim illegals will only do right?

I’m done with you. You know exactly what I am talking about. Take care.

I just gave you two examples of STATES forcing their citizens to pay for healthcare of illegals. California and NY. You are all over the place b

Let me ask this as plain as possible. I would like a straight forward answer. Chicago has zero students that can read at their grade level in the graph I shared. Chicago has voted D in every election since 2000. Is there a correlation. The other cities with those type results were Detroit, Baltimore, St Louis and DC. Do we see a trend?

Furthermore would it stand to reason that areas with illiteracy would require a much higher percentage of tax payer support and benefits?

I am unaware of any other group in America that votes virtually lock step with one party. Currently black Americans vote 93% democrat. They make up 13.7% the population and the most recent study showed that they were 50.1% of welfare recipients. Is this a coincidence? @UrHuckleberry. Explain that.

WELFARE PARTICIPATION RATES BY RACE AND ETHNIC GROUP
Percent with at Least 50% of Income from Welfare Over the Period
Percent Ever on WelfarePersons Ever On
Non-Hispanic White11.910.3
Non-Hispanic Black49.729.3
Hispanic36.27.7

Yes, you’ve definitely seen me rant about evil conservative white men.

You are once again not arguing against me but getting riled up arguing against who you’re imagining me to be.

Sounds good to me.

Why you’re arguing about state taxes is where we’re talking past each other. I thought this was a discussion on federal funding.

It’s cool tho, we’ll just be done with each other.

Id prefer that. You’re disingenuous. I have given you factual, hard, concrete data and you are constantly deflecting. It’s normal for people like yourself. Don’t take it personal. I just choose to deal with folks that can see reality. Your way of thinking will never solve anything. Blame blame blame. Take care.

Before i go. I’ll try a third time for s&g

I can’t wait to hear what your reason is for why it’s typically democratic voters on taxpayer funded programs. Enlighten me. We know there are plenty of jobs so what could it be.

Precisely, and they thought let’s bring illegals in, make them citizens and we can keep this grift going forever.
I think it's even more sinister/diabolical than that. Not only did they let anyone/everyone just walk across our border, I believe they were giving them free plane rides to purple/red states to try and turn them blue and win elections.

It was announced yesterday that the Biden administration FLEW in over 826,000 illegals. We sent a plane to pick up illegals while our citizens struggle. Long live the liberal.

I knew it was over 300,000 but I did not realize that many. Also, there are the people that just walked across that we getting bus/plane rides all over the country once they got here.
