You're whole purpose in here is to defend Drew Brees. He's been victimized and you are here to rescue him. I respect your service, thank you. I'm out of here.the one here screaming victim hood wants to talk about feelings. How ironic.

Never said it did. Do you feel that the people in the stadium that view that moment as a way to honor military members are completely wrong for their opinion? Perhaps teams and schools should stop bringing service men and women onto the field during that time so as to not invite confusion and future protests will go smoothly.Ok? So the anthem belongs to the military now? Nope, it never belonged to them. They have their own songs for their own divisions, the anthem is for the people.
He left a $3-$5 tip, and this was quite a few years ago. You can say for someone like him it should have been more. But it used to be you tipped for “service” not for the right to buy. I am not talking today with what is going on, years ago. When he shows up to pick up his own order from the kitchen, i just don’t see it as some monstrous deed. That he didn’t leave a traditional tip to the guy who rung it up on the register.
Maybe. I grew up poor so understand a dollar isn’t worth the same to everyone. I am a very heavy tipper because i can afford it. I couldn't imagine how big of a tipper I would be in New Orleans if i was also the starting QB for the saints... easily 100% tipper.
You’re obviously a terrible tipper so I’ll let you in on a secret. Things are much better for you when the people servicing you know you pay more than the other tables. It’s basic capitalism. You get what you pay for. Service isn’t a tryout. You pay for it, you get it.
Any service industry people on here would agree.
Isn’t that what Kaepernick said it was?It is “Still” amazing to me that “So Many” have bought into a “Narrative” that kneeling during the National Anthem is disrespectful “To Our Country!” Oh well it’s freedom of speech, not freedom of facts!

Thing is, Brees publicly stating his opinion opens him up to just as much criticism as Kaepernick. I suppose the difference is that Brees isn’t trying to engage in activism and to start a movement using the NFL’s games as a vehicle. There's just so much dumbness in this thread. Allow and actual fact to come into your thought process here.
Kaepernick was never respectful of this country. His kneeling was based on false viewpoints that were not verifiable in any way. He said then and has said since incredibly derogatory things about this country. He doesn't deserve the status he is given by so many. And the fact he is just demonstrates how utterly lost so many people are. All these idiot athletes who have made tens of millions and in many cases hundreds of millions in this oppressive country we have just further demonstrate how profoundly ignorant they are. But I will defend to the death their right to do it because I'm enlightened enough to know what our freedoms and liberties are about. Sadly, they are not and it's a travesty they've been able to get so rich and famous while remaining so dense.
So many facts have been lost in this entire mess it's hard to know where to begin. Ultimately it will lead to a more divided nation and just more partisan stupidity for all. I'm sure that will make everyone happy. As for me, I am just disgusted. How Drew Brees is being treated just further demonstrates how full of crap so many people are. The word that describes our country right now is stupid. But that's what we get with a government educating its citizens.
The anthem and flag belongs to all Americans. Are you trying to say it doesn't. Also why do you think people are protesting the military? They aren't. Maybe we should stop inviting military color guards since it confuses you so much.Never said it did. Do you feel that the people in the stadium that view that moment as a way to honor military members are completely wrong for their opinion? I do not know! I am speaking for myself & know kneeling is not disrespectful, sitting is! This was explained to Kapernick & the country by a Retired Navy Seal & consistent with what I was taught & believe!Isn’t that what Kaepernick said it was?
I appreciate your post and perspective.Haven’t posted here in a while...
As black Americans:
- My grandfather fought in WW2
- Uncle in the Korean War
- My father fought and killed for this country in Nam. He was spit on and called a baby killer upon his return by white Americans that he was protecting. He still to this day gets counseling for PTSD.
That doesn’t qualify me as an expert on this. I’m still confused on how to approach current times. Brees seems like a good dude overall, but he needs to take a lap.
I love this country. And I believe in the flag. But, if you think a person kneeling is saying F the flag and military, you’re missing the point. In situations like this in current times not taking a hard stance may be the smartest option if you’re unsure.
I’ve said this to my white friends over the last week that knows they will get a caring and honest assessment from me. You don’t have to take a stance on this. Even though social media says you’re either for the cause or against, that’s not true. There’s generally always a gray area.
I go back to what we learned as youngins. The golden rule. That’s all the people who are fed up are asking for. That simple. Would you be ok if your family members were treated the same way these names that keep popping up as victims were treated?
I still think Brees is solid as a human being from my viewpoint. But, he’s missing the point and was tone deaf on this one.
End of rant. God bless you all, and I hope my fellow Tiger fans are safe in these unprecedented times.
Your opinion is acknowledged! Now enlighten me:Well at least one side still puts the country first and doesn’t do everything possible to protect illegals, destroy the President, and hope to hell he fails. Because right now...even bipartisan agreements are no longer. Hell if I was Trump and wanted something I’d just say the opposite and the house would make what I wanted happen. It’s embarrassing
I cannot speak for others! I am disappointed in him because, he is still equating Peaceful Protest, Kneeling with disrespecting Our Flag/Country!People are mad at him because he won't disrespect the national flag or the country? Truly an amazing time to be alive
Help me understand how kneeling during our national anthem is not a sign of disrespect to our country. I have heard from multiple people that it is not, and I really do not understand but would like to.I cannot speak for others! You don't tip to go orders. You tip for table service. And only if the service was good.Heck, a lot of people don't tip at all for to go orders. The fact somebody even tried to make a big deal about that is ridiculous.
You don't tip to go orders. You tip for table service. And only if the service was good.
I laugh when I see a tip jar at a coffee shop. WTF. I am tipping you for pouring coffee in a cup and handing it to me? GTFOOH!
Tipping needs to go away in American. It's a way for employers to justify paying their employees less. Pay a fair salary.
Right, I do get that a member of the military thought it would be less disrespectful. But this isn’t all about the military, and it sure does seem to at least be “taking exception to” honoring symbols of the country. Really, all of us could say we couldn’t stand to honor the country if we let our differences with current policy make us think that the whole national enterprise was corrupt.I do not know! I am speaking for myself & know kneeling is not disrespectful, sitting is! This was explained to Kapernick & the country by a Retired Navy Seal & consistent with what I was taught & believe!
Where are you getting that from? When I worked at a restaurant, the people who handed you your take out orders were hosts who made $10 an hour. At most takeout only spots, the people who give you your order are cashiers. Maybe some restaurant people could tell us more, but are people really paid as waiters just because they’re giving people their takeout orders?Unless you're in a drive thru, you need to tip your take out orders. The servers preparing your order and handing it to you, often at your car, legally make $2.15. Until that changes, you need to tip.
As for coffee, there's more to it than simply pouring a drink, but they have to be paid at least the normal minimum wage, so if you want to be cheap, go for it. But I bet you tip your bartender.
Exactly. When I see a tip request on the screen at Jersey Mikes, I’m thinking the owner is asking me to do his job. Pay the employees more and you’ll have better employees. I think Chick Fi La pays their part time workers almost $15/hour. I know it’s at least over $13. As a result, they have great workers and people want to keep going back to eat there. You don't tip to go orders. You tip for table service. And only if the service was good.

Not to mention that places that only do takeout or are fast-casual don’t have waiters anywayThis isn't true. Waiters/waitresses are not the ones who normally gather to go orders. That rests with hostesses and sometimes bartenders.

Just to be clear, when I pay for coffee, I am paying for the contents, cup, and all the labor that goes into it. That's why I am paying $3.00 for something that'd cost me 27 cents to make at home.
I sympathsize If they accepted a crappy employment deal. But that's on them. They are being screwed by their boss, not the customer. So do you tip when you go to pick up a pizza? If they don't want to make $2.15 an hour, they need to vote with their feet.
Perhaps they should ask to wash dishes instead.

This is so true. It's clearly a 1 way street now.Free speech is fine unless the mob or group think disagrees with you
This is what’s so frustrating. They don’t want to understand why people feel it’s disrespectful. They have formed their opinion and believe it’s the right and only one to have and any opinion other than their’s is wrong. Add the race factor into it and now anyone with the wrong opinion is a racist too.Help me understand how kneeling during our national anthem is not a sign of disrespect to our country. Participation Trophy Generation has replaced the millennials. Scream, shout, be offended and cry if someone disagrees with your opinion.I like Drew Brees. Well said in a society full of cowards who can’t think, or speak for themselves.
However I do agree with you. This would not be one of them
