Fauci, Scott Gotlieb, Sanjay Guptay and other scientists said today that it’s time to relax Indoor Mask Mandates

Lol. You should have seen us at church this morning. Packed house, no mask, hand shakes, hugs, and coffee bar back open. Oh yea. Apologies to basement dwelling engineers if I struck fear in your heart
Glad I wasn’t in attendance. Not anti-church, but not real crazy about hugging acquaintances regardless of health environment.

I hear ya. Plenty of people don’t like hugging. Lots don’t like shaking hands. I’m not offended by that at all.I’m not a big hugger myself.

Yeah.....it may be but the Seychelles is a huge tourist destination. Lots of folks in and out of there.
I don't know the cause of the spike, maybe people feeling free to do as they please since being vaccinated but if it was tourism you'd see spikes in Cabo, Florida, etc. and it ain't happening.

I have tolerated wearing a mask (been fully vaccinated since early February) for the greater good. However, it's time to move on.

If you aren't vaccinated yet then it's your problem to deal with. Anyone that is at risk has had plenty of time to get a vaccine.
Kids don't have the option to get the vaccine yet. (And don't start with the kids can't get COVID stuff. They can and have). Optional masks for optional businesses where I have the choice to patronize a business or not...fine. But not for public schools yet where my kid has to go and sit by someone else's un-masked kid. At least for the remainder of this school year, masks should stay in place.

You don't have to send your kids to public schools and kids don't die from covid. Most people who get covid are asymptomatic. It's no worse than the flu.

Kids do and have died as a result of getting COVID. They've also developed other long-term debilitating illnesses as a result of getting COVID. It is absolutely worse than the flu.

No use in trying rationale and logic woth that poster. He thinks covid is a fake sham and the numbers are all fake.

His own family could die from it and he'd still believe something else caused the death.

Unfortunately, Seychelles has a lot of other variables at play including being a huge honey-moon and destination vacation hub (similar to Cabo of course) for much of Europe which gives a large mixing of populations from countries with varying strains of the virus and varying use of vaccinations/vaccine types. Yet, the biggest variable is the quality of their vaccinations. They used different vaccines, as mentioned above one from China, and the other is an Indian reproduction of the AstraZeneca. I don't know for a fact but if it's anything like the antibiotics we get in Africa; it's hard to trust anything that's not made in Europe due to lack of universal standards. It's why my family uses the more expensive pharmacy in town that gets their meds from Germany. I hope that's not the reason but if I was advising their health department; they'd be ordering some more vaccines from a different source... the numbers just don't match the rest of the developed world (assuming the reported numbers from Seychelles are accurate in terms of who actually got vaccines).

We were really hoping to go their to SCUBA dive this year, looks like we may be waiting until next year.

I still think the entire thing is a made up global scam to boot Trump. Now that he's gone they need to keep the charade going for a bit longer so that it doesn't look suspicious. For those who doubt my wisdom, consider this. They made climate change stick and that's bogus.

as bad as I appear in saying this but I feel the same

China released the virus and helped spread it

as off as it sounds I believe the Democrats worked with the Chinese to make this happen

I base my thinking based on the Democrats trying to create a Russian story which was on BIG lie that all of the left and Democrats spread from their pie holes

Enough said for me

Not sure why. Florida has handled this better than anyone IMO.
Desantis has done a good job of communicating in my opinion. He also knows that our state has to stay open to survive longterm. Tourist pay the bills.

Overall I think common sense and plenty of outdoor activities, kept us moving. I will say that locally our hospital system has done a very good job at relaying information and didn't scare people into hysteria. "Yes we have Covid patients....we are staffed, and we are treating many that have already headed home....etc..etc."

The communication is key. I think I read where international news was on 20% negative on Covid whereas in the US it was 80% negative.

Disagree on kids and school. Masks are optional for my son’s preschool (private). Most kids are wearing them but we decided not to. My wife and I have followed all protocols though and we have been careful. But we felt masking a 4 year old for 9 hours a day was worse than the extremely small chance a 4 year old contracts or spreads COVID given our limited exposure.

Yeah the Democrats plotted to kill millions of people around the world to get rid of Trump. It didn't have anything to do with him managing it like Chucky the Clown.

Nobody killed anyone or planned to. They just dramatized this version of the flu virus. People die every year from the flu. It seems to be a coordinated effort just like climate change.

This is a picture taken in Bethesda, Maryland. You should immediately call out that twitter account and stop following it if you really care about there being an objective concept of the truth, regardless of political affiliation.

Let's talk about being objective. When trump was president, the Democrats supported rioting, looting and burning down everything. We all saw this. They supported violence in every way. I don't have to call out any twitter account. I feel inclined to express my opinion on how absurd our nation's reaction was to a flu virus and what damage that has done to everyone. When your party stops acting like they can stop people in the middle of the street, jump on their cars and beat them with objects, then you can come talk to me about being objective.

The Democrats represent HELL. PURE HELL.

1. I'm not a Democrat.
2. My post is not about allegiance to political parties or, worse, individual politicians.
3. My post is about the fact that in order to have a hope of moving forward as a country, everyone needs to be against misinformation. We must be able to agree on some basic version of what the objective truth is. Our allegiance should be to that (our media and politicians first and foremost should be beholden to the truth) but also individual citizens.
4. It is a real problem that the tweet you posted states absolute falsehoods about the location of that photo (and by inference some of its participants, such as the scientist) to provide a "meme-able" piece of disinformation. This disinformation is meant to substantiate a theory that Fauci, Obama, the Democrats, etc., actually knew of/planned COVID and purposely deployed it upon the world as a means of asserting control over the populace. That's too big of an allegation to make without actual evidence.
5. Both political parties are doing their best to shake our faith in institutions of all kinds. This type of misinformation helps that process along for them.

I don't care if you are or are not a Democrat. I have issues with the Republicans but they were not out there burning and looting and promoting it. The covid data is false. The statistics being reported are false, the science being reported is false. Everything is false.

I'm not here to defend institutions or promote faith in them. Unless your heads been under a rock, there is not much left of our institutions to defend..

If you really believe that you are getting facts from the state run media I don’t know what to tell you
