Service? If so what did you think about scar pregame video vs ours. I thought theirs was way better. Hopefully this is something Thad is working on as well. For those of you who don't attend or didn't go today. They played the video that we see in the stadium prior to the team coming around on the buses. The one where "the rock, the hill, the valley" are shown. Curious as to what others thought.

How could theirs possibly be better?
And how did the minister tie them into the sermon?

Today we were asked to wear our fav team colors. Obviously they knew clemson and scar would be the main schools represented. So at the beginning they showed the entrances videos for both schools. Look I get people don't like Newspring. I wasn't trying to start a debate about whether you like it or not. Or what your idea of church is. To each his own. I was hoping some others attended and had an opinion on the videos. If you'd like to know how he tied it in go to Newspring.cc and check it out. It was a nice tie in. Sorry for asking.

Help us out here OP. What was the point of Perry Noble playing something like that in church?

I don't "hate" Newspring, but it's not a church that's for me. I'm just not a Perry Noble fan or agree with how certain things are done there.

If Newspring is for you though, that's great. To each his own.

Jamies Christ.

I see they are continuing to appeal to the lowest common denominator to continue to get those offerings.

I've read where Noble doesn't let kids come to the "sanctuary" (if they even call it that) because it will distract others. But then he has "favorite college team day"? And that wasn't going to be a distraction?

Lol.

I saw them coming out in masses at the Gwd campus. He does what he can to get a few more dollars in the bucket I guess.

You'd really like the sermon Maduro...or maybe not if you can't laugh at yourself. It started with some very popular complaints people have about Newspring, but those complaints don't seem to bother anyone when it comes to their other religion (college football). Here's a link if you want to watch for yourself, but I'm staying out of this thread...on second thought, the video won't be available for another couple of days, I'll link then if anyone is interested.

OP, if we filled our video with lies like they did, it would have been a lot better. I don't think theirs was better anyway.

Like it or not, NewSpring is reaching more people for Christ than any other church in SC. If you have a problem with that, you need serious help.

I'm tabling any more responses until Tuesday. I'll link the message. I can't type a 30-40 min sermon on a message board.

Trading. I just thought the presentation, music, voice over, etc... Was superior.

Doo you've been misinformed. Several messages at Newspring have a lot of things I wouldn't want my 10 yo son hearing. Believe it or not there are some people out there that struggle w some pretty nasty things. Perry is not afraid to talk about them.

There not reaching more people, they are giving them a emotional high and then that's it. There's no biblical teaching, just a few scriptures thrown in every once in a while. If you like it so be it, but reaching more people is a joke cause theirs no substance behind it.

You have no basis for your comment! Every sermon is based upon scripture!

I need help. Pray for me.

I do not go to church to watch Clemson/usc videos. I once had a saleman who sold some office equipment to a mega church in Spartanburg. A week latter, we paid a customer call to make sure everything was ok. When we drove up, there was a BMW parked in the pastors parking space. In the secretary's parking space there was a Caddy. When we went inside, I commented on all the mid sized plastic trash cans staked up by the pulpit. I was informed that they were not trash cans but collection plates. This told me all I want to know about mega churches. By the way I am PCUSA and I am not a happy camper with them at the present time. Selling stock in company's that do business with Israel seems a bit childish to me.

No way that usc's pregame video is any better than ours. Period. I think you just showed you coot colors my friend.

Yeah...I chose the wrong profession. I should have just started me a mega church, put on some skinny jeans and a stupid t-shirt and grew a hipster, douche beard and swindled weak minded people out of their money.

Btw, there is plenty of scripture in Perry's sermons. I get that Newspring isn't for everyone, but why do people feel like they need to bash it? Either you like it or you don't.

You certainly have the judgmental part of it down pat.

I have a question for you New Springers.

If I was baptized as an infant in the name of God and I wanted to become a member of New Springs, would I have to be dunked in a swimming pool to be born again even though I am a confessed Christian? To me this is the difference between a real church and a mega church.

Ron Munson. I'd love to take u to lunch sometime. I could tell you my story. I'm a wofford grad and former d1 and pro athlete. I currently work as a territory manager for one of the largest private companies in the world covering 14 states. I live on the fairway of a nice golf course and my children attend a private Christian school. If I'm the lowest common denominator I cannot wait to meet you and here what I'm missing. Please let's meet. My treat.

I love Newspring threads. Almost as entertaining as the app tiger thread. I bet Perry Noble is a TI member. He's probably sitting on his couch in his sopranos jump suit (or his I Love My Church shirt) reading this thread right now. Haha. Hi, Perry.

Hey Ron, do whatever turns you on. Maybe you could have made a lot of money like Benny Hinn, Earnest Angely and others have done. It all boils down to the "Rapture" when God/ Jesus comes back. Then we will know who is right and who is wrong.

Re: I have a question for you New Springers.

Catch. When u were baptized as a baby, was that ur choice? I think u can answer the rest.

you have to be re-baptized to join that church? Even the satellite campuses?

Amen on the Israel bit. I actually have no problem withe the gay ordination and same sex marriage stance. I almost quit the PCUSA over the Israel divestures but finally decided I won't find a perfect denomination. I thought it was Lutheran but I can't stand passing the peace.:)

Re: I have a question for you New Springers.

Chass. No. U do not. If u choose to SERVE, u need to b baptized under ur own desire. I was baptized at 12 years old at my former church. I was not required to b baptized again. If you were sprinkled as a baby u didn't consciously choose to b baptized. If you were baptized at any other church under your own desire you do not need to baptized again. That goes for anyone. Serving or not.

I am not getting involved in the conversation on New Spring...BUT... Baptism is not required...it is simply going public with your decision. If you accept, you accept.

If Perry Noble, Darcy, Clemson Tom, Batson, Munson, Greenlee and the Davis brothers walked into a bar...

The New Testament. Google "regulative prinicple of worship". It's mostly a puritan/reformed/calvinist structure so I'm sure you'll dismiss it out of hand. Most of Paul's letters were written to actual churches not cities. If NewSpring is really reaching people for Christ with the kind of numbers they are boasting there would be an unbelievable revival going on in SC. Don't see it. And based on previous revivals in America it would be moving up and down the coast of America. What brings me to tears about NS is the incessant warnings of "this is what people are saying about NS-mock them, hate them", "bloggers in there momma's basements are saying this about NS-mock them, don't listen to them". That should send your red flag up. Paul considered the Bereans: "Now the Berean Jews were of more noble character than those in Thessalonica, for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true." Acts17:11 BTW, BCTiger8 where would you draw the line? Should a church have a pole dancing ministry? How about "fight club"? Yea, there is a certain way that honors God.

Also, the fact that the OP posted this and didn't start with the sermon, Jesus or worship, but the teams promo vids really makes the point.
