@Ron Munson are you doing whitewater or lakes? I feel the need to stay active. Apparently my hikes and occasional golf aren't enough.Depends on where you are. On a lake? Activity. Down a whitewater river? Sport. You're gonna be worn out after that one
Those are sports. Each of those requires physical athletic ability and puts an incredible amount of aerobic stress on the body. Team aspect isn't the only requirement of sport, but it does strengthen a sport's classification as sport. Track is one of the purest sports on earth IMO. It's strictly athletic competition.
I use to live in Seattle in the early 2000's, I use to play there! I knew I remembered that being the Seattle area! I played Sahaly (I know I butchered the name) I loved Seattle in the summer, it was awesome! I use to live on Queen Anne Hill! The course is called Newcastle. Its in Bellevue, Wa just east of Seattle. The city you see in the background is actually downtown Bellevue. Seattle is on the other side of the lake.
This isn't a troll, I'm dead serious. I don't understand why golf is considered a sport. There's no team aspect, no athletic ability required, and no aerobic stress. It's just a hobby for the wealthy to do business over.
and i change it to 7/10 for this one

Sport - An activity involving physical exertion and skill in which an individual or team competes against another or others for entertainment.
The only argument is the amount of exertion. If you can pound beers and smoke cigars while playing, probably shouldn't be classified as a sport.

Amount of exertion is irrelevant. You can pound beers while playing baseball. There is plenty of 'down time' in other sports also.
Yep & I wasn't! Have you played Pumpkin Ridge outside of Portland or The Bandon coarses in Bandon, Oregon!Sahalee is on my dream course list. Its TIGHT, though. You better be accurate off the tee or you're hosed.
What should I expect to happen? Take a long time because I've never done it? I know I won't be getting stronger since there's no true athletics in ittry golf for 3-6 months...come back and tell me if your views change.
I can pound beers and play softball, flag football, volleyball, soccer, and many other sports...I know...I have seen me do it

Glad I played real sports in HS, instead of golf. Do Soccer, Basketball, and Baseball count? I don't want to be known as a pu$$y.If we're keeping score... No one has produced a legit counter argument to the OP yet.
Once beer is involved it becomes an activity IMO.
Hahaha look at these assholes. I guess they cut out all the akward moments where the cut in front of people or hit into them.

What are your definitions of athletic ability and aerobic stress? This isn't a troll, I'm dead serious. I don't understand why golf is considered a sport. There's no team aspect, no athletic ability required, and no aerobic stress. It's just a hobby for the wealthy to do business over.
Athletic ability could be any combination of quickness to strength to leaping ability to flexibilityWhat are your definitions of athletic ability and aerobic stress?
Lol, great argument. I assume you argue about music quality based on album sales and billboard top 100 placement?Golf is a sport supported by Clemson.
Enough said, case closed.
I would say coordination and flexibility are two of the most important traits of being a great athlete, and those are yuge if you're going to be a successful golfer.Athletic ability could be any combination of quickness to strength to leaping ability to flexibility
Aerobic stress is putting your heart and lungs under stress. Essentially getting out of breath to the point you're gasping
That's Awesome, get down to Bandon when you can, they have 5 coarses there now! I'm playing Pebble Beach on Saturday! If I break 90 I'll be happy!Pumpkin Ridge, no but Bandon, yes. Its amazing. In May I'm playing Chambers Bay where they played the US Open in 2015. Washington state residents pay $79 for 18 holes on weekdays.
1. Ain't nobody reading all that.I'll make this easy for you @johnhugh
Pretty basic material that completely shits on your argument. Simple copy and paste. Sorry you're upset that the greatest week of the year is only a few days away, you incompetent chode juggler.
- Golf meets the requirements of the definition of sport as given in the dictionary. It requires physical work and also coordination of limbs.
- Sports goods manufacturing companies have recognized golf as a sport and have pushed a myriad of golf products into the market.
- Golf sports equipment manufacturing is a multi-billion-dollar business, and top brands offer their endorsement contracts to top players of the game.
- Though golf was removed from the Olympic games after 1904, now as a sport golf has been included in the 2016 Summer Olympic Games. After a gap of 112 years, this is a highly welcome move for golfers who took up the sport professionally. And more attention will be garnered on golf after the 2016 Olympics.
- In 2009, Tiger Woods became the first ever sports person to earn more than a billion dollars in career earnings. Many other golfers are also earning high amounts comparable to other professional sports too. These players are also endorsing top golf equipment brands like Ping, Callaway, and many others. This also earns a lot of money for golfers.
- Golf is competitive in nature and yet played for the pleasure of the game. This sport requires high physical muscle strength of arms as well as concentration of mind.
- The swing in golf uses about 17 muscle groups in the body including muscles in the arms, legs and abdomen.
- To play the game of golf, one should be physically fit because of the sheer length of the walks over the golf course. This qualifies golf as a sport too.
- Physical training is very important for golf like any other sport. Golf demands fitness for golfers because their arms and legs coordination is highly needed and their core muscle strength must be high.
- Also, because of the high physical work needed in this game of golf, many athletes have taken break after injuries. This is very common in other sports that need physical exertion too. Professionally seasoned players in other sports have taken breaks from their careers because of injuries on the field. Some players have even ended their careers because of this reason.
- Golf has strict rules against drug use like any other sport. The games take it seriously and drug-tests have been put in place to keep a check on drug use. In 2009, an American golfer was suspended by the PGA Tour as he was tested positive for a performance-enhancing drug. That was the first time that any golfer was suspended for drugs.
- Golf is identified as a independent sport similar to swimming, gymnastics, speed skating and such other sports of which there are about 74 sports in total.
- Also, golf maintains rankings for its players. The rankings are done for men's tours, women tours and mix games too. These rankings also keep getting updated with every season's end.
- Golf has attracted a good fan base all over the world and has a great coverage by the media and viewed by millions of people on television. Even the TV Guides list golf programs among other programs.
- At a basic level, Golf comes under the control of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and what's more, many schools offer Golf Athletic Scholarships for both men and women.
- Golf requires physical energy too. The golf round of 9-holes, burns 721 calories when no cart or caddie is used and the clubs are carried by the golfer. If a caddie carries the clubs around, but still the golfers walks around the golf course without using a cart, 613 calories are burnt by the golfer's body on an average. The calorie count is comparable to the calories burnt in other sports such as swimming.
Then don't make a claim if you don't want to be rebutted with facts.1. Ain't nobody reading all that.
2. Don't get so mad
Minor sport. It is a competitive physical activity that is at the low end of physical compared to other minor "sports".This isn't a troll, I'm dead serious. I don't understand why golf is considered a sport. There's no team aspect, no athletic ability required, and no aerobic stress. It's just a hobby for the wealthy to do business over.
On the 30 for 30 about Daly he said he only pounded some brews once during a professional round... "that he remembers" hahaha
What about horseback riding? Both require next to no physical athletic ability nor put any aerobic stress on the body. Fact
OP obviously has never seen my swingnor put any aerobic stress on the body
