Kaepernick decides he's not going to stand for the national anthem.

Not going to stand and show pride for a country the suppresses black people. Your paid to play football, not express your beliefs. I hope they cut his ass.

What a great example to set - how is that supposed to help the cause?

Racism still exists, it didn't magically go away when we elected and reelected a black president.

Obviously we are not where we need to be as a nation yet. But this is the wrong way to protest or get your message across.
You're right, racism does exist, but we're obviously not a country that "oppresses blacks and people of color" if we have a "person of color" as the mother freakin president of said country.

He needs to make himself more valuable to his organization if he is going to make himself so unlikable to its fan base.

Please explain racism to me. Last I looked everyone including illegal immigrants have any opportunity they desire if they are willing to put in the work.

Lol. Yea the same country that elected a black president and then sent him more death threats than any other president.
You do realize that the MAJORITY of the country voted for a "person of color" right? Do you know what oppression means and why are we throwing "racism" in with "oppression".

. More than any other? Please. They all get death threats. Hell, Bush even had a friggin' MOVIE made about his assassination. Sign me up for this ingrate's 100 million dollar plantation. I'd love to get oppressed like he is. He has every right to speak his mind. He just better be ready for the crap storm that is coming his way via others expressing their opinions on the matter.

No. I was addressing a different statement. If you don't think that African Americans deal with oppression in this country then there's really nothing for us to discuss. We can stick to Clemson football.
Fair enough. My bad thought you meant from the OP

Oh really? No I didn't realize that. Thanks for the history lesson.

OK last time I checked a threat wasn't quite as bad. Your post said he was threatened more than any other president. I'd prefer that rather than filling Lincoln's shoe's

I personally volunteer to buy kaepernick and any other person a one way ticket to their country of choice.
Whichever country or place you would have it better I'll buy the ticket as long as you promise not to return.
This is not limited to "people of color" because I want to be fair to all peoples. So anyone that wants out, here's your chance.

Otherwise get your sorry ass up and show some decking respect to people of all colors that died for the freedoms and lack of oppression you have today. I'm so sick of these sorry pieces of shit that are so misguided they actually believe what they are doing helps.

The two items are not mutually exclusive.

People that complain about this stuff instead of ignoring it are giving Colin a bigger voice

So you think Lincoln would have been able to be assassinated with today's secret service and protective measures?

I disagree, especially with the way you keep using it.

Do African-Americans and people of color deal with racism still? Absolutely, sadly.

Do they still deal with oppression? If they do its isolated and definitely not representative of the countr as a whole.

Google "oppression". You are either extremely out of touch with reality or you dont know what the definition of the word is.

Do you agree or disagree?

I realize that racism can feed oppression, but do you believe we have oppression DUE TO RACE in this country?

I believe if we did it would be major headlines seeing as how various religions, gender-identification, and sexual preference have been the last few/several years.
