The best part of this story is that after it was initially reported, CPAC followed the trump playbook and claimed it was all lies. Then NBC brought the receipts.

There has already been ample evidence of what this party is, but it's high time everyone with a proclivity to vote republican AND a functioning brain come to their senses. I know that eliminates most of the Republicans on this board, but the few of you who still have a chance better take it.

Most of you had grandfathers who fought in WW2 against the exact type of criminal regime that is trying to take power in the U.S. right now. That ideology doesn't soften, and it doesn't go away on its own. Please don't dishonor the sacrifices of your forebears just because you're too proud to admit you were wrong this time.

You’re dealing with people that don’t know or care that the Nazis and Hitler made a point of distinguishing their “socialism” from the socialism of the Bolsheviks and leftists.

They see the word socialist in, “National Socialist German Workers’ Party” and act as if they have some profound truth.

Don't get me wrong, I prefer to have Democrats in charge but sometimes I think if someone made me an offer that if I didn't vote, it would guarantee a Haley win, I'd probably take it because I'm just that exhausted by nine years of Trumpism. I don't agree with all her positions but I like a lot of the things she says and she's a breath of fresh air compared to what we've been experiencing for most of the last decade. I would be worried though that she might be corrupted by the MAGA wing of the party once in power, but it might stilll be worth the gamble.

Maybe so and I was just talking out loud about an outcome I might consider IF it would guarantee that Trump would lose. I wouldn't prefer her over a Democrat but I'm ready for some damn normalcy so an offer like that would be tempting, that's all.

Understood. But when you step back and look at how both parties have failed the people it’s funny to see how they’re creating dynamics that cause family dynasties inside the party’s.

We had 8 yrs of a Bush VP, followed by 4 yrs Bush as pres, the. 8 yrs of Clinton and then 8 yrs of a Bush in the White House afain. Next election J Bush and H Clinton are running again and we get Obama/Biden fro 8 yrs then Trump then at least 4 yrs of a Biden possibly 4 more of Biden or Trump. Add in Kennedys and some Roosevelts and most of the 20th and beginning of 21 st century have been largely governed by a few powerful families. The parties playing political games to drive the narrative, Hillary is told by Dems to drop out in 08 and she’d be a shoe in for the 2016 nod, no matter what happened she was going to be the nominee. When you think about in that regard every election really is rigged in some way, they’re forcing the nominee down your throat. Just look at the nominees every election 10-15 start out running the argue accuse each other of fraud or whatever and next thing you know almost every one has a cabinet position after the election.
Again just look at the nominees and think to yourself is this the best we have to offer? The answer is no but it’s who they want to offer us, but why? That’s a question we all should ask. Washington has done what they intended, make us fight amongst ourselves to distract us from what they’re really doing. What they’re doing is “serving their country” while walking out of office far wealthier than when they walk in and all while making far less money than their normal 9-5. What we ALL should be doing is agreeing on the small things first like term limits etc. even if we disagree on larger issues once they realize the curtain has fallen they won’t have a place to hide. It kills me to see my family and even something like this board fight among themselves over politics of all things when I think we have more in common than not.
