Clemson today has offered Jennings (La.) 2017 high-three star running back Travis Etienne.
We wrote in last week's Insider that Etienne (6-0, 195) was a name to watch.
Among the uncommitted candidates out there, he arguably best fits what the Tigers want with their running back take.
Whether they can gain enough traction this late is the question.
LSU offered two weeks ago, and that is expected to be the game-changer for him. He listed Texas A&M as his leader this past week -- he was once committed to the Aggies -- but even Texas A&M doesn't think it trumps LSU in the end. He is slated to take OVs to Tennessee, Texas A&M and then LSU to close the month.
We will be keeping an eye on whether Clemson can get its foot in the door.
