Obama Scalia

Sadly, this probably represents way too many people in this thread.

You can't Pay For This Stuff!!!

@andcam this is another misrepresentation of facts. President Bush worked and entertained foreign leaders a great deal at his Crawford ranch. This is being called vacation time by Democrats, but it wasn't. It's just another case of people spewing stupid lies that they don't even take the time to understand. Like I have said til I am blue in the face... Try the truth on for size. It might fit you better than you think but it won't allow you to validate your views constantly with crap you get from Occupy Democrats and the likes.

Here's a list of Head's of State who visited President Bush in Crawford. This perfectly illustrates what I'm saying. It doesn't say in the Constitution that a President HAS to work in Washington.

November 14-15, 2001 Russian President Vladimir Putin

April 5-7, 2002 British Prime Minister Tony Blair

April 25, 2002 Saudi Crown Prince Abdullah

August 27, 2002 Saudi Ambassador Prince Bandar Bin Sultan

October 25, 2002 Chinese President Jiang Zimen

February 21-22, 2003 Spanish President Jose Maria Aznar

May 2-3, 2003 Australian Prime Minister John Howard

May 22-23, 2003 Japanese Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi

July 20-21, 2003 Italian Prime Minister Silvo Berlusconi

March 5-6, 2004 Mexican President Vicente Fox

April 12, 2004 Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak

November 24, 2004 King Juan Carlos And Queen Sofia Of Spain had a brief lunch at the ranch

March 23, 2005 Mexican President Vicente Fox, Canadian Prime Minister Paul Martin in a Trilateral Summit held in Waco, Texas at Baylor University then headed to the ranch for lunch

April 11, 2005 Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon stayed overnight at the Hilton Hotel in Waco, Texas and went to the ranch for lunch

April 25, 2005 Saudi Crown Prince Abdullah met at the ranch for lunch after receiving dignitaries at his Dallas hotel, the Gaylord Texan (now King Abdullah)

August 4, 2005 Colombian President Alvaro Uribe

As of the end of December of this year Bush had 407 days of vacation vs 125 for Obama over the same time frame That is almost four times the amount. Your list is impressive but it only totals right at 26 days. So even deducting that from 407 you are left with 381 for Bush to 125 for Obama. That is a threefold increase vs Obama. Clearly the myth that Obama is vacationing more than his predecessors is ludicrous.

That's only the heads of state visits. That doesn't include all other things done down there. You're oversimplifying the situation. Also, I would love it if Obama spent the entire rest of his term on vacation. In fact, he could have been on vacation for the last seven years and things would be better. I think questioning the vacation time of a president is stupid. I couldn't care less. But your argument toward Bush is a load of crap. It's totally out of point and that's what I was trying to say. The President never truly gets away. When Obama/Bush/Clinton/Bush/Reagan, etc. went on vacation they still had a staff with them and there were still announcements, etc. That's just how it works.

It's interesting to read this thread. To read the ages of certain posters and things make more sense. To read how one guy in the beginning boasts about his service as though nobody that has also served can disagree with him.

I think most of all it's amazing to read how different and divided we all are. I think it's almost impossible for us to be a "United" states of America again. We are no more what our founders founded. I know most of that went away with the war of northern aggression but the internet definitely confirms it today.

I wish there was a way for the govt to shrink to a point of not interfering with lives beyond what the preamble states as its duty. That way everyone in this thread can do as they please. If you want to be gay then yahoo for penises, you want to be straight yay boobies. Either way keep to yourself and keep govt out of marriage. The states should control education and healthcare we certainly don't need the federal government in charge of that. The great thing about that is you can move to whatever state most closely aligns with your beliefs on how things should be handled!

All of the problems described by those of you on the "left" and the "right" are caused by big federal government. It was never designed to be that way. It's not built to last that way, and it won't last that way.

Obama not going to attend Scalia funeral... Totally political and classless. Even liberal justices were his friends and colleagues. O gives new meaning to being an idealigue... F everyone who disagrees.

He finds a way nearly every day to show us he is in way over his head and has been for 8 years. it goes on and on.. Never to Normany on D-day, never to military events, Never supports the police, hides behind the office and honestly doesn't work very hard. His demise cannot come too soon...

Like they say " i wouldn't piss on him if his heart was on fire".
A week or so ago 2 police officers were murdered in cold blood less than 15 miles from the White House. Do you think he could have at least mentioned something about this? Called the families? No. Not a word. Pathetic. He's is showing what a POS he really is. Him not going to this funeral is no big surprise to me.

Agreed. I think it is true that the Pres is always on the job. But, frankly, it is all of the vitriol lately about how much time that President Obama takes off and goes to Hawaii and Martha's vineyard, etc that is the reason for my retort about Bush. If someone wants to bash Obama for taking vacation they should at least have the intellectual honesty for doing the same to Bush. Like you, I think it is crazy to question either one, but, here lately, you would think the wingnut's heads are gonna explode they are bashing him so hard for taking time away from the White House. What is good for the goose is good for the gander is my point.
